  1. If you want to keep it pure Technic you could search out a 8485 Control Center 2 and power supply, plenty available on BrickLink.
  2. Edwin, your skills as always amaze me, another stunning model.
  3. So that would be with 'Studded' Technic then
  4. For me it's more about the building experience rather than the colour/NÂș of functions/how many motors it comes with, etc so I will most likely end buying one of each, and depending on the 'B' models, possibly two. As for the homage set I will definitely be building this as it was the 8860 set that first got me into Technic all those years ago, in the meantime I shall be building my original 8860 just for the pleasure of it.
  5. Not yet found a set the can beat 8880, for build experience, complexity, engineering principles, functions and looks, no other set has ever really come close to it.
  6. I always find it strange when people sell sets which are '100% complete (Except Mini Figs)'. to me that means it's incomplete
  7. If it was to the same scale as 8480 then that would be big
  8. Just remember the guys (and girls) who do the reviews and keep the whole thing running are all volunteers, If the review is that important to you, you can always join the review academy and have a go at doing it yourselves.
  9. Belated Christmas greetings everyone, no Technic for me this year but I did get the 'Yellow Submarine'
  10. @Splat Not sure if you are aware, but this has made the pages of 'Interesting Engineering'

    What Annoys EB Members?

Just my pet peeve, American English spellings I fully understand if you are an American, but for the rest of the world use the proper English spellings, I note that even Lego are using American spelling in some of their material here in England, Argh!
  12. Amazing build, I think it's all the better for having a separate control unit.
  13. We need more Girly colours, there's a plant firm not far from me that paints all it's vehicles pink as part of it's support to a well known charity. For the anniversary I would like to see Lego put out a Technic Universal Building Set, as they did in the early days. Just a big box of bricks with possibly some power function and/or Pneumatics, of book of ideas and a whole lot of imagination.
  14. Be interested to see the final version, just need to make one point before you get further, the R5 Turbo had a mid mounted engine (roughly where the rear seat where in a normal R5) driving the rear wheels with the gearbox right at the rear of the car.

    Older Than Dirt!

Heck I'm old enough to remember watching it (well not actually watching cos only the men were allowed, us girls were making cakes and sandwiches)
  16. In the best traditions of Eurovision, here are the marks of the Essex jury 3:10 23:6 16:4 6:3 17:2 9:1 Great work everyone

  20. An absolutely amazing build Edwin, I wouldn't even no where to start with something like that.
  21. Well done Clive, as Jeroen says "Job well done" even with teeth marks Looking forward to your next build, maybe something studded to get you away from the dreaded PwPH
