  1. Let me clarify: respect for Sariel's great reviews, indeed. But this time I think he "twisted the knife" a bit... probably this set should have been reviewed with a different eye compared to the other technic sets. Let's say, if he had assumed this is not an usual Technic set but rather a good lego version of a real GT3 RS then the opinions/comments would have been more positive! Obviously he did pointed out the gearbox does't work well, but should this let a set down? No I don't think it should! What if he (I know he builds carefully) made a little mistake (2700 pieces takes a long time a lots of concentration specially when lots of gears are involved) resulting in a gearbox failure? As someone said Lego it's not a finished product, but a starting point for our own developments! This is why we love it I guess...otherwise if you only like to build and then put it on a shelf then this set does the job!
  2. that was clear from the beginning.....you missed this all point in your harsh review. nevermind...I'm glad for the good news! And cenrtanly we will all enjoy this beautiful set afterall.
  3. It's called "part exchange"
  4. Not really...because this could be just the start of a series of technic sportcars/supercars with less functions, more technic look like but still far away from creator! And since we have it now why people needs to complain and moan about it? It's already made....it's what it is....if you don't like it don't buy it.....
  5. ok then you shouldn't criticise this set at all....you actually shouldn't even be interested on it at all....because this set is not meant to be too "functional"....but rather good looking! The 8070 had 4 useless and easy to design functions and looks dull and cheap compared to the porsche......why so much hate for this porsche then? Guess it's the price...
  6. Could be a sort of mulcher....but given the cabin pointing in the same direction of the attachment I wouldn't be sure....
  7. Someone said "Lego technic it's about the function not the look", well since this is a licensed sport car and somehow an unusual technic product I'm sure everybody would have complained if it did work perfectly but looked very ugly........
  8. And i'm sure this set will outclass the Porsche.....really looking forward to this beauty now!
  9. Sariel one can tell you've never owned a real Porsche....beautiful cars with lots of issues  so this set reflects the real one!!
  10. As far as I remember even when it says "ship in 30 days" then normally it o0nly takes few more days than usual......hope I'm right!
  11. You've always been very negative on every model....I'm sorry but I won't consider your words/opinions/review about this model. Let's face it...it's a toy, a great toy, looks impressive regardless if the gearbox doesn't work perfectly all the time...... Congratulation Jim for such an amazing review, it has been a pleasure to read it and the level of your photos it's simply outstanding!
  12. @ Jim there is an old saying: Don't be lazy
  13. and fingers crossed for a nice McLaren or Lamborghini...
  14. reconsider what......some voices about a gearbox not perfectly working? or few degrees of steering angle? or price too high? It's a toy, it's meant to have fun with while building it, not only by playing with it. It's meant to stay on a shelf and, as far I'm concerned, looks pretty good! In the past we have had really boring ugly cars.....and if it's too expensive simply don't buy it! If people wants something perfect then buy parts and build your own MOC! This is a Lego set...already designed and tomorrow will be on sale...just take it from there....
  15. @Jim: Shall we say your review about this set will come in 1 month time from now more or less?
  16. look at all those 3rd party types similar to these we see every time on here...TLG could have out some size on them as well...some letters or numbers...they look "flat" at the moment! But it's still good we get new tyres anyway...and as I said this is my favorite set of this year!
  17. brick link and BrickOwl are the places where to buy parts and sets. About the Class....omg the more a look at it the more I love it. I already know we will all be disappointed buy the tyres...somehow they look like the don't belong to Lego world...and rubber will be rather hard then soft....but anyway...we will make great use of them in our MOCS
  18. I think sets like this are winners because not only people buys and builds them..but like for the unimog even after 5 years people still builds attachments and similar.....to me this is the secret to a winning set! This Xerion will be fantastic itself, but with all the attachment there will be never-ending fun! The Porsche looks amazing...but will collect dust on a shelf...
  19. So are the reviews coming out on the selling day? is there any reason why TLG does it this way? Normally reviews come earlier...
  20. I still think, in my opinion, the Class tractor is the king of 2016 2H technic sets! Can't wait to buy it!
  21. what if the pins are only used while assembly the car to allign the steering wheel and then removed? surely none will design a car with +/- 0.5 stud steering...

    [MOC] Dump Truck 8x8

Beeb busy with work but I keep working on it to make it all work smooth and nice! So as soon as it's ready will be shown! And hopefully I can add next to it a surprice as well! Anyway....are you planning to create a "hook arm container" version of your truck?? that would be epic!!

    [MOC] Dump Truck 8x8

Yes I uderstand your choices anyway..at that scale it's a nightmare to make things work nicely due to the weight! I do have backlash on my MAN TGS but somehow I did prefer to recreate the real thing rather than making it perfect! Anyway...Lucio..one again thank you for sharing this with us and for making amazing mocs all the time!!!
  24. As a Porsche owner, Lego technic lover and sport cars enthusiast what more could I have asked for???!!!!! Wonderfull piece of art.....can;t wait really!!! The only thing is I would prefer it in black or dark grey...but will only judge it when I'll put my hands on it!!!

    [MOC] Dump Truck 8x8

Well Lucio you know very well that it's gone absolutely well!!! Ok so I don't see the point or need to use the "ball socket and ball joint beam to recreate suspensions, I mean let's just have leafsprings instead of "locking/pivoting" the axle in one point.....also normally you want the ball socket to be in front of the axle so it can swings easily when wheels meet an obstacle..... Anyway this is a great MOC as I said and you can be super proud of it! Would be nice to see and play with this beast one day!!
