My opinion is that they have removed too much of the charm that made the original good. Look at the fishing store, that had mostly muted colors (except in things like the equipment) and managed to retain a bunch of the "its old and shows it" feeling. The original submission for the a-frame cabin tried to capture that same "its old and shows it" feeling but the final product doesn't really capture that. The green parts around the base for example should have been a more muted color like olive green or dark green to make it feel more like "cabin in the woods" rather than "cabin at some manicured camp site" (I can see why they changed the trees though, the original trees would have required far too many parts)

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
jonwil replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
This isn't a rumor, it supposedly comes from some kind of official database. But yes it could change if LEGO decides to change the retirement date of a set at some point (which they have done in the past for modulars) -

It was posted by LEGO on the LAN forum apparently (which therefore counts as "official" in my book) -

The current date I can find for the retirement of the Assembly Square is Dec 31 2023. Although its entirely possible it may be extended again. The Bookshop and Police Station also have end-23 as their retirement date with the hotel having end-25 and the Jazz Club having end-26. -

Looney Toons product seemed to sell well where I am, definitely seemed to fly off the shelves in Australia. -

The schedule of parts comming out a few months after set release is how its going to be going forward. -

I am surprised they are making any further HP products at this point given the controversies surrounding the franchise. -
Considering that a major part of the Dune universe revolves around a highly addictive drug (the consumption of which is essential for interstellar travel) and around the war over who controls that drug, I don't see Dune as a good fit for LEGO products.

Absolutely the high demand stuff should be limited quantity. Things like animals, Castle and space fig parts etc. -
More James Bond cars would be interesting as well (I think there will be many people here who would love to get their hands on that Lotus submarine)

Ongoing Transformers Rumors and Discussion

Currently assembling Optimus (I managed to piece him together except the stickers and printed parts thanks to my collection, some parts from BL and local sellers and a bunch of parts from LEGO online that finally showed up yesterday) and its a very fun build so far. Can someone suggest a good trailer MOC to go with it that doesn't require any weird/rare/expensive parts?\ Wow Optimus looks cool (probably look cooler if I could get hold of the printed and stickered parts but that's not happening at the prices they are going for). Well worth the effort I put into obtaining all the parts :) -
So many movie cars I want to see. The black Lambo from the opening scene of cannonball run. Kitt. The Chevy Lumina from days of thunder. The XB falcon from mad max. The bluesmobile. The Mack truck from convoy. The trans-am and Kenworth from smokey and the bandit. Many of these will never happen due to the content of the film in question (violence in things like mad max for example) or the licensing (getting all the licensed for days of thunder would be very hard I suspect) but they would still be cool to see.

If anything, my wish for a steam train would be a detailed US style steam train (something like the one in The Lone Ranger or Back to the Future or Wild Wild West with the big fat funnel)
-
Has anyone else noticed that the US flag in the Titanic set is incorrect to what it would have been at the time the Titanic sailed?

We are getting an Orient Express steam train in the Ideas line.

Doesn't look like there is anything unique in the robot polybag and it doesn't look difficult to re-create either. -

One cool detail in the police academy is that (for what I think is the first time in a LEGO set) the computer in the set includes not just a keyboard but also a mouse. -

Can someone who has bought the new skate park set tell me if the helmet/hair combos in that set are the same mold as https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=54647pb03 and https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=54647pb02 or if they are a different new mold just for minidolls?- 634 replies

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
jonwil replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I snagged my Blactron set yesterday (thanks to some City stuff, a build-a-minifig pack, the Australian Postcard set and a Big Bird keychain) and its a great build. Would have been nice if they could have made the 3 x 6 wedge plates in trans-red again but its still a great looking set. -

Snagged the police academy, emergency vehicle HQ and sports car yesterday (as part of hitting the threshold for the Blacktron GWP) and all 3 sets are full of nice parts. I love all the neon yellow across the 3 sets, the printed battery tiles in the sports car, the driver of the sports car (including the white baseball cap that was previously exclusive to the mini Adidas shoe set), the teal wheel arches and other teal parts on the ambulance, the new heads in the police academy and emergency vehicle HQ, the new police torsos in the police academy, the 3 x 3 corner plate, the nougat hair in the police academy and some of the cool stickers in the emergency vehicle HQ. Only other first-half-year City sets I am thinking about buying are the gaming truck, the ATV with the otters and the 4+ police station chase. -
Scored the new bam at the dreamworld Lego store today (as part of hitting the threshold for the space gwp).

Saw the new movie today and now I want more of the sets (I own the base and helicopter set)

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

I wonder if Looney Tunes did well enough to get a series 2 at some point... (there are still quite a few very popular characters that never got made...) -

There are definitely things I want that I could justify buying to snag the gwp, like the Australia postcard, maybe new City sets, maybe the marvel red gauntlet or the Chinese New year set with the purple airtanks. -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

A Captain America shield would be cool, I have the iron man helmet, hammer and gold gauntlet (and want the red one) and more buildable things would be cool.
