How do you use the Window Frame 4x3/Shutter 2x3?
legoguy1984 replied to suenkachun's topic in Community
South Africa says shutters on the outside too. Personally never seen those blinds. -
What interesting comments do visitors to your home make about lego?
legoguy1984 replied to BrickOn's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Mostly off limits but some who have seen it generally tell me that my son (2 years) is too young for Lego. I normally smile and say I know. Others are quite amazed and ask questions like "did you build this?" thankfully it's in a seperate room and I can choose who sees it. Suprisingly no-one has wanted to play. -
That is kind of the problem, it was designed for one use and one use only, there are lots of examples where parts meant to be one thing have been used successfully as something else or as a part of something else. Does it mean it's a bard part? No, just limited and again the major limitation is creativity.

Enjoyed the story and love the parts used in this build.

One persons worst part is anothers treasure. One thing I've learnt is that it's not the piece so much as the person using it. I find alot of pieces useless but someone else will find those same pieces useful. The only pieces everyone seems to agree on is the <insert that tiresome argument> chassis but even that in it's context in a juniors set is a good piece. The only limits seem to be the imagination of the person holding the piece and what style they mostly build in.

I got a constraction figure feel when I heard the names and it makes sense in my mind that it would be a "big fig" like the marvel(?) ones they did. I am of course hoping that they will be "Nexo-skeletons"(if they are exo-skeletal please can we call them that). Also hoping that they don't do the single colour jellybean thing. One can hope that they have learnt better colour usage through Ninjago.

The point when you have enough Lego?
legoguy1984 replied to PaddyBricksplitter's topic in General LEGO Discussion
^That is the type of stuff nightmares are made of. Enough is definately a personal question. Sometimes I look at my sorted pieces and miss the days it all fit into one container that I had to paw through, or I feel a little overwhelmed at the possibilities and I have a small collection compared to most here. -
^^They would still have crime and fires no matter where the setting is so they seem like important people to have ;)

I don't know, for some people, myself included, it seems more statuey if it is blank. -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
legoguy1984 replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Not e-bay.I stay in South Africa and I don't think they ship here. I get mine from a physical store. There was another store here that used to open all the bags and then you can buy them that way. It's only the bigger stores like Reggies (owned by TRU but generally smaller stores) that just sell them on the shelf. -

There is a store that sells only lego and they pre feel the bags so you just tell them what numbers you want and how many. Nice and convenient. -

Placed my order for these today, now just have to wait for them to arrive. Suprisingly even though I'm not into monsters this is the one set I am getting lots of and doubles of for the first time. -

Brilliant cars. Love them all especially the yellow one. Any other pics of that bike though would be awesome. -
What are good sets for building a town/city?
legoguy1984 replied to ilikeboomerang1's topic in LEGO Town
Sounds like an awesome but expensive list. No trains to help your populace get about? -
Great build. Just needs a bed:)

Am I the only person who thinks Marshall Bravestar when you hear robot horse? I realize that was a western styled show and we want castle but for moccing this could be a good thing.

Proper care/preperation for "crumbly era" LEGO stickers?
legoguy1984 replied to BraselC5048's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I cover mine in a clear vinyl sticker. Might dull it a bit but seems to protect them well enough. -
I prefer a traditional approach with an artistic outcome. Similar to the Medieval Market Village set in my mocs but have yet to be happy with my results. I don't use illegal builds and everything needs to be solidly built, those are pretty much my only criteria when building.

It does seem as if there is no "castle" planned so far. I'm waiting till pics surface before passing judgement though.
