Cardinal Brick Posted September 10, 2010 (edited) Today I bought a number of series two minifigs when I opened them however I found that one of my Spartans was missing a cape and one a spear. I've never had this happen before with the collectable minifigs, looking on the Lego Service website if you enter the set number it tells you replacments are not available. I've sent off an e-mail to Lego asking if I can get the parts. My question is has anyone else come across one of the bags missing any parts and if so what did you do? Captain Becker Posted September 10, 2010 (edited) Well that was a bad suprise for you. No, i havent be any missing parts on CLM. Only a couple of left over has been missing only twice, but i didnt do anything. I`ll hope at LEGO will anserw you soon and you will get those missing parts. Its really a shock when the Spartan is missing his wonderful cape and not forgot the fearsome spear. GRogall Posted September 10, 2010 This problem is already being discussed here!
blueandwhite Posted September 10, 2010 I haven't had this happen personally but as I understand things if you're missing a part from one of the collectable figs you're flat out of luck. Apparently these collectables are a specialized item and replacement parts are not available. Perhaps LEGO will have changed their policy on this for Series 2. Good luck with your email. I was really disappointed to hear that LEGO isn't supporting customers with this line back when folks were talking about missing bits in Series 1. Hopefully everything works out. escortmad79 Posted September 10, 2010 As they're limited editions TLG won't be able to issue replacement parts
JCC1004 Posted September 10, 2010 TLG really should have made sure this didn't happen. One of Whitefang's Series 1 Spaceman was missing legs. Replacements are impossible to get, a major flaw since there are so many production slips. Between my brother and I, we opened about 40 sealed minifigures from Series 1 & 2 and all parts were present but one Forestman was missing a extra plume. I don't think that really counts though. fred67 Posted September 10, 2010 Given that series 1 and 2 have barcodes, they should just send you a freaking replacement, then (even if they require proof of purchase).
WhiteFang Posted September 10, 2010 While doing my review for the Series 1, my Spaceman was missing a leg... And, I seek measures to get that parts replaced via the replacement program. Unfortunately, after many many attempts including emails, TLG can't do anything of replacing these new specialised parts, simply because these new parts are all outsourced and they got no way to have them in their inventory. I do hope TLG could offer something to compensate or to offer a better solution for this Series 2. Trust me, I wasn't very happy at all when I experienced it earlier. Marckeyh Posted September 10, 2010 My Karate guy had a defective hair piece which would not fit on his head :-( Bad molding You have to tilt the hair back quite far before it fits, its just a weird shape, I'm sure it fits :)
MacK Posted September 11, 2010 Yeah unfortunately you may be out of luck. I think I read in the collectible minifig topic (or somewhere else) that during series one Lego did keep a bunch of spare collectible minifigs to use as replacements for anyone missing a piece, but Lego soon just sold these extra figures to try and keep up with demand. Still it can't hurt to pester TLG for a replacement part. Hopefully Lego learned from it's mistake and might still have a reserve of spare minifigures. 1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted September 18, 2011 Just to be sure, has anyone experienced these problems with series 3-5? I know I haven't, but I would like to know if I'm taking a risk when I buy these guys.

So far, if I can recall correctly, I had a missing longbow from the Elf and two missing katanas from the Samurai.
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted September 19, 2011 So far, if I can recall correctly, I had a missing longbow from the Elf and two missing katanas from the Samurai. That sucks. If this still happens, Lego should at least make a refund, if they can't send the spare pieces.
Aanchir Posted September 19, 2011 (edited) So far, if I can recall correctly, I had a missing longbow from the Elf and two missing katanas from the Samurai. The samurai is only supposed to come with one katana. Unless you mean you were missing two katanas from two different samurai? In that case, that's a huuuuuge disappointment. Were there any "extra" pieces in place of the missing ones? Often when a part is missing, there will be another part mistakenly added in its place, hence why the weight check doesn't catch that something is missing. My younger brother encountered a quite egregious example in a certain BIONICLE set, where one of the silver shoulder armor pieces was replaced with a red 1x4 brick! So far I haven't had any collectible minifigures with missing parts, but then again I'm not an army builder so I might not be buying them in the same quantities as some other people here. I had thought the lack of reports of missing pieces in Series 3 and onward meant that weight checks had gotten more precise (which would also explain the lack of extra pieces in those series, since they wouldn't be as necessary to ensure a complete set), but now I'm not so sure...
