LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

After that trailer I want an AT-AT in rebel colours.

I’m curious to see what kind of figures are connected to the sets whether they are evil versions or just random

To be fair, these are pretty harmless. If you don't like 'em, just remove 'em, and they aren't as integrated into the build as many other ships are with their spring shooters.

That just leaves a gaping hole and a glaring spring loaded shooter piece. The new ISD and the Sith Infiltrator show how brilliantly they can be incorporated into builds.

But looking at it closer, the tie cockpit in the trailer is identical to the 2021 tie fighter. Similar to the dark Falcon, I don’t think the build in the trailer is the product we’ll be getting.

I hope the trailer means set reveals are imminent because this is also something I need to know.

These all being based on the new show means the anniversary figures are exclusively in skywalker saga sets, and also means that every skywalker saga set after the january ones has an anniversary fig, (excluding gimmicks and 18+ sublines). Which does make me wonder why R2 and young leia- if it's a creature- have one but C-3PO and the droidika don't.

.... you remove the piece too, not just the ammo. (I also enjoy the hyperbole of a bar-sized hole as a "gaping hole") If anything on this it looks like you'd just end up with wings more similar to the top wings.

But he left some yellow IIRC, and I don't think he updated the detailing much like he did Bob.

Not to be curt but none were left yellow and Bob's detailing wasn't updated...

The spring shooter is integrated flush with the underside of the wings and competes the “finish”, removing it would expose a literal hole in the wing. Plus, I like my sets stock. Yes, it is a hole, and it looks bad without anything plugged. That’s not hyperbole.

Wow, that trailer was insane! I really just thought they were giving us a variant of a Gungan, not actually going full Star Wars meme with Darth Jar Jar hahaha! I can't wait to see Jedi Bob's Starfighter. I guess this trailer means we should be getting the other sets revealed soon. I was not expecting these sets to be based on a LEGO animated Disney+ film but it honestly makes so much more sense now.

Well, that should put to bed any doubt about those oddball sets later this year! Darth Jar-Jar is real!

I doubt full set images will release anytime soon, though. The short won't be out until September, and we have other minifigures that have been teased first that haven't have their sets revealed yet (Ezra and young Leia).

Look on the bright side: we get a black uniform with another set of rank insigna. I unironically think that is great.

It's true and I agree. I am excited for that part and think it is great we get a named officer.  I think my disappointment is in the missed opportunities overall.  I am happy we are getting another named officer, with a new set of rank insignia.  The paywall to get imperial officers from the movies is significant though (cheapest is like $50).  Anything that brings that cost down is a good thing.  Happy we are getting more named ones from the movies (and hoping it allows for other lesser known ones to get made - like Captain Lennox, about the same amount of dialogue).

No, you're right (Some of the figs still look yellow to me, but it's not as obvious as I remembered). Could have sworn it was the other way around.

Bob seems to have updated printing in the trailer- sort of benny-like scuff marks on his beard- but I don't think that says anything about the figure.

Oh, I see. You're talking about the single plate of thickness that would be exposed towards the end of the wing on the underside. I would still 100% consider "gaping hole" hyperbole, but sure, to each his own. (also, how are you removing the spring loaded shooter piece but still having a "glaring spring loaded shooter piece"? Are you planning on putting it elsewhere on the set?)

And Nien. You bring up a good point.

Oh, I see what you mean,I hope you're right but as you say it does look like what they did to benny, hopefully if they did do that to his face they only do it on one side on the head and give us the intact version on the other side.

I think when the front of the spring shooter is exposed and the rest is covered, as in the new ISD, it looks quite nice, like a laser cannon. But I don’t like it when the entire 1x4 piece is exposed, as in the mandalorian fang fighter. It looks clumsy and tacked-on.

Technically the droideka comes with a mini droideka and I imagine C3P0 will come with a small version as well.

The X-Wing vs Tie is also based on this.
I don’t think we’ve ever gotten this many sets to tie-in with a Lego original SW property before.

Freemaker Adventures got 5 sets. Yoda Chronicles got 2. This animation is getting how many, 3? X/Tie, Dark Falcon, Jedi Bob?

No it’s really more of a Joke. But then again we don’t see evil Chewie, C3P0 or Vader in the trailer either.
It’s good to see that you’re back Falcon.

@icm Yes. but Freemakers only got two at one time per season. I meant that this is the most we’ve gotten for one special/ season to tie-in with its release.

Plot twist: C-3PO is the uncovered TPM version, and thus fits as a TPM anniversary set and just gets the printed brick, like the droideka.

Just kidding (hopefully). Now that you point that out, it doesn’t really fit any pattern, but I guess LEGO doesn’t really like patterns, anyway.

It’s cool that Ahmed Best and Mark Hamill will be returning to voice their respective characters. With Hamill, the old Luke in the tease of custom minifigures from the Dark Falcon makes more sense.

I know this is just a "the multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little" style "things are randomly different" type multiverse, but I would love to see a lore reason for this sort of imperial alliance that uses P1 clones and has rebel command on it's side.

Should have clarified- 25th anniversary figures.

Was Luke ever teased? I thought the leak said something like Evil C-3PO, Evil Chewie, Evil Rey, Light Side Vader, blue armored gungan (Darth jar jar with what looks to be a sand blue torso), and 1-2 other figures.

Fun fact: Jedi Bob is voiced by a guy named Bob (Bobby Moynihan), who's a documented fan of star wars.

Though unfortunately the synopsis and cast list confirm FOUR original characters (Though I do appreciate that the main guy's last name is Greebling, that's fun) in the main cast. I don't really care what happens in the special, but that is pretty concerning regarding the figures in the sets. I don't want this to be a freemaker adventures situation where the majority of minifigs aren't canon.

I have been wondering why the Star Destroyer was revealed…

Its an Amazon exclusive by the looks of it!

Still a weird time to announce it.

Agreed. Kinda silly we got a big set reveal on May the Fifth and this trailer on May the Sixth, but absolutely nothing on May the Fourth.

Welp. It doesn’t look like there’ll be price decreases any time soon. Oh well it looks like I’ll be buying it on Lego.com full price alongside the R2 KT set to get VIP points. It’s £150, a bit steep in conversion but the price per piece is better than other sets. I still think it’s the best looking ISD we’ve ever gotten (on the exterior at least)

On the topic of LSW specials. Anyone else hope that an adult Rowan Freemaker and Jek-14 show up here? I loved Yoda Chronicles and Freemaker Adventures.

Also are there any chances of Lego making other ships such as Venators, Acclamators, Victories and Light cruisers in scale with the ISD? It would be great to build a fleet escort.

Landino put up an Instagram story a few weeks ago with mock-ups of what the Dark Falcon figures allegedly were, it was just some custom assembled figures, not promo art or anything.  I don't think it really got any notice on here, surprisingly, but one of them was a figure with TLJ Luke's head and hair.

"It's true... all of it" - Han Solo

I can't believe we're getting this insane, wacky wave. I love it! This is what I love about Lego Star Wars. The pure versatility of it in creating your own SW story is unparalleled. Bring it on.

I also want to join the many disappointed with the ISD. It's a good set. I just had my hopes set on a Death Star playset with tons of figs.
