[MOC] 16-wide modular police station

Recommended Posts

Hello! This is my first time posting a moc so let me know if I can improve anything.

I made this a year ago but have recently revisited it to redo parts and make it better! The ground floor is dedicated to the garage and a small holding cell. This would mainly be used for over night prisoners, higher risk criminals would be transferred to a bigger facility.

The whole build is modular so the floors can be easily lifted away for easy access to the interior

Unfortunately due to space constraints, a standard car just sticks out a little bit from the garage. However, it can fit the small undercover police car and the police motorcycle. Once I put this in my city (currently dismantled), the 2 police cars and truck will be stored in a yard behind the station. Besides, it makes more sense to me to store things that cannot be locked inside a garage.

The 2nd floor houses the main area for the officers. A divider wall separates the work stations from the rest of the room. Currently I have it set up so an officer could stay at the station 24/7, sorta like a security guard.

The far desk is a sort of forensics area, with a computer to document finds and plenty of space to do all the necessary forensic stuff. It seems an officer is working on a strange case involving a pan and some money. Wonder what that could be?

The other desk houses the dispatch area, with a computer and some sort of station that has a mic and some gauges.

On the other side, there is a simple bed and a cabinet containing some food and utensils. On the counter, there is a plate with fresh subs from the local deli, and a tasty donut from the coffee shop. Next to that is the all important coffee maker.

Finally, on the roof, a simple overhang with some tiles on top completes the main structure part of the roof. On top of that, a big police sign lets the public aware of what the building is. Also on the roof, a security camera records the entrance of the station. Eventually I need to find a better place to mount it but it works for now.

Nice! Lots of great little details inside and out. The round bricks and plates look really good as architectural detailing. The only things I can think to add are maybe some kind of tool chest in the garage, and perhaps a gun rack in the office (unless Barney Fife works there! ) Great work!

You did an outstanding job. This is much better than the police stations that Lego gives us. I think I may have to follow suit in building my own buildings. The only thing I would add is a helicopter pad. Everything else is just right.

Very cool MOC! I love the small size, and all the features you managed to build in! I hope to build something like this one day, for my "city".

That's pretty cool! Kind of like a Japanese Koban (small police station / box).

I'd personally be tempted to remove the garage and include the holding cell and a small reception area on the ground floor, along with stairs to a second floor with the lab / office.

Or at least a curtain across the upstairs window so the officer has some privacy when sleeping : )

Nice little policestation :classic:
So tiny, and still so mucht details.

the Only thing I thought was that the building was a bit too small. the Door right next to the garage door looks a bit odd. It looks more like some kind of buissinessunit or storage.
the Rest looks great, nice use of colors too. It's full of details and stuff, maybe you can add some things in the garage?

Well I have taken your suggestions and added a few more details to both levels.

In the garage, I added a mount for the motorcycle to connect to. This prevents it from falling over when moving the building, and I can pose some minifigs doing work.

I also added a small workbench with some tools mounted on the wall. I want to add more detail eventually but for know it looks pretty good.

Up above, I have been experimenting with some different layouts. To give the sleeping area a bit more privacy, I moved it behind the divider wall and put the desks up against the windows

Thanks everyone for the awesome feedback and have a great rest of your day!
