CloneCommando99 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago So I watched BND. And I was surprised at how profound its messages were. I took away two. 1) Choosing to be lonely is just going to feed your depression, you need to have meaningful relationships in order for things to get better. 2) Spoiler Bolivar Trask is a visionary. I really want a Berthanal Punisher minifig. Can we get his van as a set please. Could include Daredevil just for fun. Quote

My question is why we're doing a crossover with a female cap variant when there's only 5 figure slots. Wouldn't they want to do 5 of the most popular heroes? If we're going off character, what you say in the later ones makes a lot of sense. But it looks like lego just looked at general aesthetic and puns for generally popular characters- C-3PO is a robot, so he's Iron Man since they're both mechanical. R2 and War Machine are C-3PO/Iron Man's partners, so we get War2-D2 despite the fact that it's a worse fit than Iron-3PO. Spider-Han I guess because it's a pun (but only if you use Lando's pronunciation)... but Spider-Mando was right there, and would at least have been a more interesting minifigure. Hulkbacca actually fits pretty well- the big guy with rage issues in the respective universe. What I would have gone with for each thing: Best character fit: Solo Lord (you said it yourself), Grootbacca (Star-Lord's aboreal, brown-colored, limited-vocabulary muscle who's smarter than he lets on), Luke Spiderwalker (again the reasons you mentioned), Teresleia Organa (Teresa Parker- Spider-man's secret sister who works as a spy... just like Luke's secret sister who works as a spy), Vader Von Doom (Genocidal armored, magic-using tyrant who while totally villainous has a soft spot for his family) Just trying to match iconic characters from each franchise: Vader Von Doom and Luke Spiderwalker stay, Hulkbacca stays from the official set, then we add The Hanverine and Iron Mandalorian. Wouldn't they want to do 5 of the most popular heroes? The set seems to be mainly aimed at SW fans so yeah, I'd stick to recognisable Marvel characters. Either five of the founding Avengers (Iron Man, Cap, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow - probably skipping one of the latter) or just A-Listers like Iron Man, Cap, Thor, Spidey but certainly not War Machine. Either way, gender aside Leia is a good personality match for Cap (goody two-shoes leader of the righteous side). And the whole thing's so bizarre, a little gender-swapping shouldn't even matter. I just don't expect them to forego Luke in her favour. Edited 2 hours ago by brickbride Quote
Agent Kallus Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I mean Luke's exclusion in the falcon set makes sense. It don't make sense to exclude him from the overall crossover (so maybe there's another set) but Luke is less associated with the Falcon than Han, Chewie, Leia and Threepio because he's only really on the Falcon in ANH where's as the those guys are with us ESB and Even A little in the Sequels (at least I think Leia gets on it in the sequels, I haven't watched them as much because I don't like them as much). Though admittedly by that Logic R2 should be with Luke but maybe there actually is another set (shame to make the only crossover set an expensive one) and it's Luke V Vader. Maybe Wolverine Luke Vs Magneto Vader? Or if they want to keep the parentage thing Star Luke VS EGO Vader? Spider Luke is probably more likely as they seems to want the biggest star wars heroes as the biggest star wars heroes and EGO isn't that big anyway maybe goblin Vader? Or Thor Luke V Loki Vader that was keeps the relation a bit, and the redemption and you could even include Odin-wan Kenobi though them making that before actual Odin would be funny. Also why are people calling the princess Leia as Cap a Captain Carter Variant. Surely it's not Leia as Peggy as Cap it's just Leia as Cap. I do think Leia makes the most sense to be Cap too as she the original rebel of the OT Gang and the rebel symbol would look great replacing the Star on Cap's uniform. 3 hours ago, Mandalorianknight said: My question is why we're doing a crossover with a female cap variant when there's only 5 figure slots. Gender swapping her would be weirder than swapping cap and matching the personality and vibe of the characters is more important I think. Anyway I get the idea that's it's like putting star wars characters in marvel suits with marvel powers because they have the iconic supersuits. 19 minutes ago, brickbride said: Either way, gender aside Leia is a good personality match for Cap (goody two-shoes leader of the righteous side).
