The issue with that is one central character who Lego doesn't depict.

Spoiler

Also if the whole scene is about destroying an entire world, I don't know if Lego would be willing to depict that. The main hook would be Tobey and Hugh and they're going to be leads for Secret Wars, so there's no shortage of sets that can include them. We're getting the Raimi Goblin anyway, we have Doc Ock, and Magneto is already coming.

It would make for a great set but I don't see Lego making it. Especially based on how polarizing reactions to it have been.

That one oddly hasn‘t been corroborated yet :snicker: It definitely became more likely though!

I mean John would be nice but I care so much more about the Daily Planet, so if that bit isn't true then its not so bad. But I feel most of the sets being corroborated even without all the hinted details means he wasn't talking out his big behind so I'd give John a good 80% chance of coming.

Unimaginable victory. Now we just wait and see about the beret. (Which now that we have the venom helmet, it's not as bad- I like to stay fully purist but if I have to I'll scrub the print off. Honestly the beret might at least guarantee him a new face print)

This is also probably wise. I'm unsure if his figure will look all that different- they might change his skin tone, but his torso will probably end up being identical. He could have leg printing but it's not really necessary given how it's still not a guarantee for a lot of heroes. Dual molding/arm printing for the sleeves and rings would be really nice, but less likely than leg printing.

It'll depend on how much lego is told about

secret wars. If they know they can get the main players in that movie, they'll probably have sets with them planned before doomsday even releases, so they might not see the point in doing an epic moment when they're already covering all the heroes.

Just weighing in on a previous discussion to say smart play isn't dead. SW is getting more sets and reportedly it's coming to Disney and Ninjago too. No Marvel rumours so far, though.

Aöso DC is getting a modular Planet in 2027 or 2028 which should have some impact on Marvel (i.e. presumably no modular that year).

I feel like it's  possible for that character to be made from Avengers Doomsday because the difference is, He can be toned down while the Punisher is known for one thing

Look at the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon, he worked in that

Yes, but the Punisher was also toned down for BND. I think they struck a nice balance between him still being a ruthless killer as usual, and also having a comedic side  If that‘s enough to make him pallatable for another minifig is hard to say, but at least it‘s way more likely now!

He was but he's still the Punisher lol

But the skull wouldn't be a problem, the design has changed plus this one in the movie is faded so it can be released in China

I don't really know if he'll be made again if he didn't appear as a figure in fortnite but idk

I doubt Lego will change their mind, they are so hypocritical about their rules

Also I really don't think Daredevil is off limits, I mean he's basically Batman and isn't strictly a R-Rated character, Fisk Tower is in the Marvel Skyline set so that could give us hope, I remember the April fools leaks from Carterbricks and one of them was a Nelson and Murdock mini modular that could be real or fake but since Fisk Tower is in the skyline, this could be more of a reality

There is some grey area, but I think they‘re pretty consistent with their rules overall

Correct me if I‘m wrong, but there‘s no R-rated movie with a LEGO tie-in and only two MA-rated shows. One is Echo, which is excusable since the rating was only announced after the CMF got revealed, and the other is Stranger Things S5. Vecna is probably the most violent character to ever get a minifig, but it‘s still firmly in the realm of fantasy :snicker:

It‘s here where your mileage may vary. You could make the case that Vecna being okay while pre-BND Frank isn‘t is hypocritical, but I’d say one character is more realistic than the other. And of course it‘s easier to „hide“ a violent character in an 18+ set, which is also what they did with comic Punisher & Daredevil.

They were smart about it too- it's not so much that he was toned down as that

Spoiler

He just doesn't happen to be in situations where there's people for him to kill. They mention that he kills, they imply it, and at the end he takes a shot at the main villain (though notably even that is framed in a way where he's never actually shown firing the gun at her directly- we see him set up the shot, we see the spidey-vision of a bullet coming, and then we see him react to spidey blocking it), but the only time he points a gun at someone other than Hulk, spidey, or a tank is when Jean's forcing him to.

But you don't notice it as much, because there simply aren't situations where it's applicable. He obviously isn't going to murder the people Jean took over, and at the end of the movie he's trying to stop Jean- so he's not murdering DODC employees- and is left out of the dome- so he's not killing the Hand ninjas she controls. (Which he might not have anyway since they were being controlled and punisher has a soft spot for younger people, but they are/were villains. Bit of a grey area for what he would have done, but my point is he's not put in a position to do so, so you never see him either violently kill them or act out-of-character.)

I think you could actually do a really similar thing with the other guy

Spoiler

You have him get punched by Tobey at the start of the scene and say something like "Oooh, if I wasn't in a PG-13 movie I'd have words for you, Great Gatsby!" and then the rest of the movie you just don't have him use strong language, sexual references as explicit, etc. Aside from that first line, you don't have to reference it. You have him breaking the fourth wall, making pop culture references, acting like he's in love with wolverine, and people won't be consciously thinking about the fact that he's not dropping F-bombs. I've seen videos they've done of the disneyland deadpool and they've nailed making one that acts family-friendly and yet is still 100% in character with Reynold's deadpool.

And like punisher you don't need to worry as much about him seeming toned-down violence wise just because he's not in those situations- it's not like he's going to chop up one of the 616 heroes in the mansion fight, and depending on if he's in later scenes, he'll just be fighting sentinels and possibly Doombots.

That doesn't mean I think he's particularly likely for a minifigure, though. Unlike Punisher, who aside from a recent unpopular televion special and the netflix series hasn't had anything in a few decades, Deadpool's had a very popular movie trilogy that marketed itself on the premise of being inappropriate. The tagline of the third one was literally "let's f---ing go".  There's also no way he gets as much screen time as Frank did in BND, and he'll be one hero among 50, not one among... two in heroic roles, four in total.

Ironically post-BND I think Punisher has a better chance than Daredevil. He is just as associated as punisher and deadpool with being a "mature" marvel character- Frank Miller's reinvention being the basis for most of his adaptions definitely caused that. (Which, if you've ever read Man Without Fear... yeah. By far the darkest comic I've ever read. Kingpin's crime of choice is one too dark for even the netflix shows and somehow the netflix series actually toned Electra down like 80% from the comic version's wildness.) Now I doubt anyone at lego's actually read too many of the comics, at least as far as the execs go, but because of stuff like the netflix show, the general view of daredevil is definitely as a very mature character.

The same was true of punisher, but he just had a role in the biggest movie of all time, rated PG-13, whereas Daredevil only continues to stack more and more seasons of TV-MA television. Appearing as his civilian identity for a cameo in NWH or an episode of a spider-man show nobody saw isn't going to change that.

I don't think Fisk's tower actually tells us anything. The tower itself's actually only appeared in a PG movie and a T game, as far as I'm aware, but the main thing is that it's in effect an easter egg. No parents are going to complain that the tower has the name of the civilian identity of a daredevil villain (probably because most of them don't know that) in the same way lego's worried they would if the star of marvel's TV-MA content was showing up on shelves.

Also, now that I think about it I think Fisk himself may not be off-limits and it's just that he'd be a boring minifigure. Because Spidey and Daredevil share custody of him, he's been in a number of family-friendly projects that are more prominent than cameos, including being the main villain of the first spider-verse. But at the end of the day unless you're actually doing the ITSV version, he is just a bald guy in a suit, no kid's going to beg their parents for him. If they ever cover spider-verse more I think we could totally see a brick-built one in a set somewhere.

If they knew Stranger Things S5 would be TV-MA, I think BND frank is extremely likely- because that would imply they're 100% willing to do stuff that's associated with the MA rating so long as there's enough money in it. I don't think anyone was expecting BND to be THIS successful- I'm sure we all thought it would do well but I don't know anyone who expected it to beat NWH, much less Endgame- and I imagine lego is having meetings right now on how they can capitalize on this.

@BrickBob Studpants actually all the BND merch has no Punisher so I think it's not a Lego decision but a Disney one, the Hot Toys is just branded Punisher from the movie and the Marvel Legends is a mix of One last Kill and concept art

Funko also revealed a Punisher pop from OLK at the same time as wave 2 of BND, which featured Spidey in winter clothes, Scorpion and Tombstone. Technically not the same as he has the beard, but a clever way to get around it I guess

Also after just one week Brand New Day is the 30th highest grossing movie of all time. I wouldn't be the first in this thread to say that this movie performing well could change Punisher being the guy from the R rated Netflix show to the guy from the Spider-Man movie in mainstream public eye. Maybe as long as he's not the focus (sorry battle van), there could still be a chance for him in a future set, and with the film likely enough to maybe even make top 10 highest grossing, another set seems extremely marketable and possible

It's on some ways on track to beat Endgame, I think far from top 10 it could easily be top 3 with a shot at the top spot. Those overgrown smurfs have been there long enough.

Though I think the battle van is actually more likely than him showing up in something else. Partly because if you look at the material left, he's not in any action scenes that haven't been covered, but also because Netflix Punisher never really had the battle van (I mean sure, at one point he and micro are in a van, but it's not the battle van). It's something that helps cement the set as "look, this is that scene from that hugely popular PG-13 movie, not something from the netflix show or disney+ special!"

Does China have an issue with the Punisher skull emblem?

I feel like the biggest indicator that Daredevil is off-limits for Lego (besides what they told us about basically grandfathering him, Punisher, and Blade into the Daily Bugle set) is the way they've completely avoided anything to do with his cast of characters. We've never gotten an Elektra, Bullseye, Kingpin, Hand Ninjas, let alone Matthew Murdock, Foggy Nelson, Karen Page, etc. You'd think they could throw in Matt in some Spider-Man set, like the mini-modular Daily Bugle set. Or that the Hand Ninjas would have shown up in BND sets or a Wolverine set. If we see Ben Affleck and/or Jennifer Garner back as DD and Elektra in Secret Wars, I'd be very curious if Lego would adapt them or not. Especially as not only are they in a family friendly movie but their original Fox movies from the 2000s were also family friendly. Maybe those iterations of the characters would be considered safer to adapt (unlike say, Wesley Snipes' Blade, who has only ever appeared in R-Rated movies).

I agree, it'll probably be something they revisit a lot to give us varying figures from. Though out of those 60+ characters a lot are likely going to be returning characters from Avengers: Doomsday some with updated looks others the same.

I imagine Lego will try to avoid overlap by ensuring the Avengers: Secret Wars Wave 1 sets, likely in October 2026, won't feature the same line-up of characters as we've seen in the Avengers: Doomsday sets unless they have vastly different appearances.

I think depending on how a potential Avengers: Doomsday Wave 2 turns out, we could be seeing them selectively choosing not to adapt certain characters either because of similar figures in other sets (Prof.X), lack of uniqueness (Steve), lack of focus (M'Baku) or they are returning for Avengers: Secret Wars.

Pretty much covered already by @JeanGreyForever but...

Spoiler

The only characters Lego would adapt would be Tobey's Spider-man, Wolverine and Magneto.

While Magneto could definitely do with a figure variation to get his proper outfit, Tobey's Spider-man and Wolverine are back in Avengers: Secret Wars so makes more sense they'll be in Avengers: Secret Wars sets, likely front and centre.

Deadpool is unlikely to happen. Green Goblin & Doc Ock unless they get a redesign we already had via NWH or Raimi legacy sets.

In what I think was the last time set designers brought up Deadpool in an interview a year ago, while they didn't treat Deadpool getting a new minifigure as very likely, they didn't seem to completely rule out the possibility either, and even seemed to think an appearance in an Avengers movie could help his chances, as long as that part of the movie wasn't borderline R-rated. I guess we'd have to see how much he pushes the PG-13 rating...

I could see this general thing, though with some caveats. Characters like Torres, who just... nobody's out here cheering for Torres and he's got a fig on shelves- probably get left behind. I could see Ant-Man not making it either given he's wearing a near-identical suit to infinity saga. I also don't see them immediately turning around for a new magneto.

The rumors are the bulk of Secret Wars will have a much smaller cast then doomsday, with us probably getting a portals-type scene where everyone who has ever played a marvel character is on screen to fight doom in some capacity. I imagine the bulk of the marketing and merch will focus on that smaller cast, and then we'll probably get a billion secret wars final battle sets in the years to come (which'll all have like 50% their figure rosters identical)

If this is true maybe we do get a deadpool in the next few years. The scene is about a universe dying alongside fakeout deaths for Tobey Maguire and Hugh Jackman- the Raimi verse even temporarily being killed has a good chance of coming off as tone-deaf already, I doubt they'll have deadpool making sex jokes or dropping an F-bomb as it happens. We might get a bit more of that in the mansion fight, but at the same time it's a PG-13 movie and you always do have the ability to have your deadpool just... know the rating of the project he's in.

The trouble is, it isn't what we want or even what would sell, it's what Disney thinks will sell that they'll push in the merchandising. Disney put Torres and Ant-Man in the concept art so I could see us getting them. They are also characters who are unlikely to get a suit change IF they return for Avengers: Secret Wars.

The version of Magneto just isn't accurate enough for it to be the last rendition of this Magneto that we get for Avengers: Doomsday. So it's just question of if this was intended as an altered costume with plans to give us his full costume in 2027 sets or if we'd need to wait until late 2028 or beyond for an Avengers: Doomsday legacy set with his accurate costume.

LEGO Marvel Avengers: Doomsday Sets Officially Announced - The Brick Fanhttps://jediarchives.store/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/hot-toys-magneto-standard-uk-pre-order.webp?_gl=1*1vu0z4u*_up*MQ..*_gs*MQ..&gclid=Cj0KCQjwp9vTBhCWARIsANaUrjsBEMPHut9lhY3KmWNWg-dndIgFzfKUnus_ALh8XD7zlDAnUmL4dfkaAp1gEALw_wcB

Actual costume should have red arms, red printed torso, black belt, dual molded red/black legs with printing and potentially recolour the emblem of his helmet to purple (As we won't get a version of the helmet with the correct emblem design). His cape is also red on the inside which Lego has done dual coloured capes in the past, but I don't think they've done so with the plastic capes yet.

It's more that we are supposedly focusing on a smaller group going around recruiting others that grows larger through the movie. While a few are almost certain to be adapted immediately, others recruited later would probably be saved for sets after the movie.

Yeah China has a big issue with skulls. even in the Daily Bugle they had a catalog or something with the Punisher Figure just a black minifigure silhouette

I mean Lego hasn't made many Marvel characters likee (Juggernaut,Sabertooth,Comic Mystique, Silver Surfer) so I feel like it's just Lego only making Spider-Man stuff and what sells, it's only in 2024 that we actually got a complete X-Men team so

I feel the future for Lego Marvel is brighter than before, we really need new characters and more versions of characters that have only been made once

This is 50/50. Not to be the guy who always brings up Rivals (especially given some of the choices they've been making regarding character design) but it's a chinese-owned game and it's interesting to see in what context skulls are and aren't allowed. His default design uses a very stylized skull, and interestingly early replicas of comic skins also stylized the included skulls. But he has had at least one skin with the classic punisher skull fully displayed on it, and unlike some other games it's not obscured on chinese servers. We've also recently seen some maps with skull iconography. All that to say I don't think the slight fade on the skull is so the movie can be released in china- it seems like this version of his emblem is allowed to be shown in projects of this age rating. Punisher just tends to have a faded emblem aside from the last scene of projects he's in. (Plus he gets the classic skull on the Battle Van!)

Depends on what you mean by a complete team to as we don't have angel yet so we technically still don't have the roster of the original team. But yes, we're still missing a lot of A and B listers when it comes to the X men and Fantastic Four. This is mostly due to the informal embargo on X-men/F4 merch while they were owned by Fox, but even after they're gone we still don't get much. But you can also see the dam breaking now. We're finally getting a comic-based F4 minifig with Galactus next year, and we have had some X-men, although there's a good chance they wait for the MCU versions before doing more, especially given the poor sales of stuff like the X-Jet (which is their own fault for pricing it so absurdly...)

Good news there is 2027 is looking amazing in that regard. We're confirmed Demogoblin and Lasher as new villains. A bunch of new variants with Strange Supreme and the zombies, minifig galactus, and the Raimi Symbiote suit, and while we've had Rami Goblin before I feel he's worth a mention as well, as well as the new Scarlet Spider (unless he ends up being a new variant of the character, which would also be amazing). And while it's not necessarily guaranteed we'll get a figure scale one, there's a form of Jeff coming too.

Keep in mind the franchise this film is in. The entire brand is undercutting emotion with humour, tone deaf is a absolutely likely thing for Mr Reddit himself to be. The main thing that would make me think he might be less intrusive there is he apparently leaves the scene partway into it
