Somebody here was just asking for one of those! If it's done like the Iron Man from this year I'm sure it'll look great. Quote

If you are referring to the Instagram post by bootlessbricks I'm not so sure that the figure selection shown is confirmation. Shang Chi seems like a guarantee and John Walker would make sense, but why is Kevin Feige there if this is meant to confirm future figures? We had him previously with Avengers Tower, are we really getting him again? It's allowed us to revisit the Raimi series in fairly high quality and the printed tiles with the details of the film scene are neat. I think it's only downside so far has been trying to adapt upcoming films where we're not getting the most iconic versions of the characters and the figures are lacking some polish. I agree in regards to the statues, Lego knows they cannot do faces well so it's unlikely we'll get statues of Captain America and Thor let alone Loki or Thanos - so we'll probably just wind up with Black Panther, Spider-man variants and probably Ultron. Ant-Man would be in the running if Ant-Man 3: Quantumania hadn't flopped. It is an issue every time we get buildable figures, they never end up completing a group of them. I get that some adults may want one buildable figure to display, but personally I'd want the core trio of heroes (Iron Man, Thor, Cap) or the main antagonist from the Avengers films (Loki, Ultron, Thanos). Maybe they'll do something like that in 2028 for the anniversary. I think playsets are suffering currently, pricing is all over the place and the builds generally are lacking either in accuracy or detailing and we're running into the point where Lego is not going to be adapting characters because of what they were associated in prior, which is going to damage the appeal. Spider-man: BND for instance the best set is the Tank Chase, but neither set has Punisher despite him being part of both the scenes they are adapting and his dynamic with Spider-man being a core part of the movie. I remember seeing GotG and then going and buying a bunch of '76019: Starblaster Showdown' so that I could have the Nova Corps and their heroic sacrifice OR the spinning gimmicks they had for monsters in '76060: Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum' or '76081: The Milano vs. The Abilisk'. Playsets generally lack that nowadays, maybe a destruction gimmick or a vehicle or the build is a character. So far this year my only sets have been the Raimi Legacy sets though I'll probably eventually get the Helicarrier and modify it though despite wanting a Helicarrier I'm disappointed by the scale decrease. So far from 2027 I'm mostly just intrigued by the Raimi Legacy sets Edited 16 hours ago by Scarilian Quote

BrickBob Studpants Posted Sunday at 07:15 PM Posted Sunday at 07:15 PM I think this is our first-ever proper cross-over between themes, right? And of course our first superhero theme was spider-man. But the more obvious reason that marvel and star wars are crossing over and not DC and star wars is that disney owns both marvel and star wars. Disney does not own DC. You can cut down the amount of lawyers and money you need by quite a bit. Quote

The DC and Marvel themes were both announced during the 2011 SDCC, and I think on the same day even I remember the announcement of DC being first, with everyone particularly excited over Soup, and then shortly thereafter they hit us out of left field with the Marvel announcement. A double-whammy for the books for sure! If you mean the actual release, this hardly counts since there was only 3 months between the respective first waves, and of course the first Marvel wave got released later due to the Avengers movie tie-in. Also, speaking of cross-overs, DC was the theme to get roped into The LEGO Movie and even got its own separate theme with TLBM. So now it‘s Marvel‘s time for a whacky cross-over Also also, DC doesn‘t get anything? Right after the Daily Planet rumour? Quote

Thanks for that info. Lego's had a real issue making any X-Men villains outside of Magneto. There's no reason they couldn't have thrown in Sabretooth in any Wolverine set by now. Still remember in the 90s that the most popular Marvel characters were Wolverine, Spider-Man, Sabretooth, and Venom. The two biggest heroes and their archenemies. But with the X-Men and FF, we've at least seen characters from those franchises depicted (we got Wolverine, Deadpool, Magneto, Jean Grey, Storm, & Cyclops as well as Doctor Doom before the Fox ban). With Daredevil, it's just been unusual that outside of having him essentially slipped into the Daily Bugle, we've never gotten any character from his franchise. But I agree, we need more new characters and more versions of previously existing characters. Quote

brickbride Posted yesterday at 06:55 AM Posted yesterday at 06:55 AM (edited) Which is just as dumb as the C3PO one. A painted robot does not compare to a human in a robot suit. C3PO especially has a personality completely unlike Tony Stark. What's War Machine even doing there? He's far from an A-Lister. And if Han were a Marvel character he'd obviously be Star-Lord, not a dumb pun on Spider-Man. If we just go by dumb, punny names, they might as well have made R2D2 "RThor2Thor". At least he actually handles tools. In other news, I've seen the Spider-Punk set referred to as "Up-scaled Spider-Punk" which usually means buildable minifigs, so I'd expect it to be that. If anything Iron Man should've been R2 and Vision as C-3P0 Also unless there's more to come, it's weird that neither Luke or Darth Vader are being covered here.
