Wow, both of these are fantastic, especially the VW. Like so many others I didn't have any idea just how nice it would be, but my... it's simply delightful, isn't it? "Make LEGO models, not war" indeed...

I suspect the VW Van will be stickers not prints because A.LEGO does not normally do printed parts for D2C sets (unless those printed parts are already being used in other sets like the clock tile) and B.LEGO has an ironclad policy of not using other brands (like Shell, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maresk etc) on printed parts. That means that the VW sticker on the front at least has to be a sticker (which makes it very likely that everything else is)

I suspect you're right on point A, and until quite recently I would've thought you'd be right about B as well, but note that they currently offer a set over in the Duplo Cars line that doesn't just have a non-stickered logo for a licensed, non-LEGO brand in it, but has one that isn't even merely printed on the piece; it's actually molded into the element - and it just so happens to be the Volkswagen logo (!).

Is that because they've been displeased by some of the relationships they've had in the past? I could see them wanting to distance themselves from Shell (South Africa) and Exxon (Oil Spill), and they've had printed parts of both those companies in the past. Is there any public statements of this policy? It does seem to fit known facts.

I could totally see them wanting to on that basis, but my understanding (apologies for not having links handy; all I can say at the moment is what I remember reading somewhere) is that TLG decided some years ago to stop printing other companies' logos on their bricks simply for branding reasons - to preserve the brand identity of the iconic LEGO brick, or something like that, I believe. If they're now actually molding a VW logo into a Duplo minibus body for the Duplo Fillmore "figure," though, I can't help but wonder whether there's been a change in policy... anyone know?

yup, the post office is sure buy.

I wonder if I'm alone thinking the exterior of the van could have been better executed? obviously, the inside is mind blowing, but the outside.. I can't put words to it, but I guess it just doesn't feel right.

I love the winter themed Lego sets but I have to say I'm a little disappointed in the post office. It just doesn't stand out to me like the toy shop or bakery. Depending on price I may or may not purchase it. Regardless, it would still look nice under the tree with the other winter sets.

The VW van is a must have. This is by far one of the most detailed car offerings from Lego I've ever seen. Being an owner and fan of VW's I can't pass it up. I am a little worried on the possible price though, about $100 or less?

Nope... it seems the videos were uploaded public a little bit too early... both are now listed as private.

I didn't make a backup, sadly. I only made two screenshots from the Campervan demo, which can be seen on page 12 of this topic. I didn't came to my mind that the where posted too soon. :classic:

Maybe someone else has...

When everyone else is talking about how great it is, and you can't see it. That's a horrible feeling. :cry_sad:

Sir Grogall...knight for all....

I was sooo disapointed because the wifi on my holiday camping was too slow during daytime to see the videos. Now, at 05:00 at night the links were gone, but there comes knight Grogall to save my day......thanks.

I love both models, and, more importantly maybe, so does my wife, also awake to see the vids. :classic:

I drove 150 km last year to buy the last VW beetle in a toyshop in Germany, and I am curious if the V1 camper is the same scale, or in other words, how will the two models look next to each other?

Also the post office is a must have, although the video is too shrt for me to see all the details.

Now I just have to wait until my birthday to get my hands on those sets....if TLG releases them by than (september 20).

Good knight, ;-) I go back to sleep and have sweet dreams about the camper.....that is if the wife does not keep me awake.....................:blush:

:wub_drool: Thanks so much for the video, grogall! That campervan is amazing. New fabric elements, some really nice stickers, gold faucet element... It's going to be hard to convince myself I don't need this set, too, among all the themes I want to collect. Edited by Brickdoctor

Thanks for the links, Knight grogall!

What a beauty this van is  - I'll certainly see if I can replace the clothe with some tie-dyed fabrics once I get the set.
