Adrian86 Posted May 12, 2011 This is a series of vignettes that are centered around four main activities of today´s archaeologists. At first we have the biggest part of the work. The research, interpretation, documentation and organization. Then our archaeologist might get lucky and even receive the needed funds to finance another campaign on an archaeological site. But before the fun starts he has to spend endless hours at the airport. Finally he reached the site and starts digging for new artifacts, structures and maybe knowledge. Hopefully he will find that interesting looking dagger underneath all those dirt. Again away from the field our archaeologist starts documenting the finds of the day. Sooner than later he will again sit in his office doing research, interpretation, documentation and organization ;-) Thanks for looking!
XimenaPaulina Posted May 12, 2011 Very well done series of vignettes Adrian! They're simple but very effective in conveying the various stages of an archaeologist's working life. Good job! Just curious, is this based on your own life? (you're an archeologist?)
Fuzzylegobricks Posted May 12, 2011 Very cool Adrian, the showing of these is quite smart and I never thought of that while reading the name of this. I once tried to be a archaeologist but I just spent three days not finding anything.
Adrian86 Posted May 12, 2011 Thank you! Yes it´s based on my life, I thought why not create some scenes I´m more than familiar with. I got the idea after looking through the pictures of last year´s campaign. Looking at those scenes again I´m sure the first and the last scenes would work in a bigger museum MOC. roamingstop Posted May 12, 2011 So where is Mr Phil Harding? And Prof. Aston?... no Geophysics from John Gater?... I think an Archaeologists Working Life is great, but could be easily expanded to the people of TimeTeam.
Skafte Posted May 12, 2011 Love it! I'm an archaeologist as well, but my work is limited to the first vig, unfortunately. I hope to get down and dirty soon, though. Phil Harding? Pfff, it should be Henry Walton Jones JR and Lara Croft...

Diaaabo Posted May 13, 2011 Excelent vignettes! I studied archaeology in the university before I decided to go for another career as a cook, so I can say those are pretty realistic

Roodaksta Posted May 13, 2011 An amazing series of Vignettes. You don't usually see someone making a series of vignettes of a type of job. Nicely made especially the digging vignette.

ZO6 Posted June 17, 2011 Really nice vignettes, Adrain86! You've packed lots of details into these, they look great. In the Lego world, I'm a huge fan of anything remotely related to the Adventurers theme, so I find these particularly appealing. Thanks for sharing!
Mr. McDuck Posted June 19, 2011 Great work with there vignettes Adrain86! I love the details and use of some parts to create real world feeling
brickmack Posted June 19, 2011 Nice. The 3rd one is my favorite, though paleontology is more interesting than archaeology I think. Odd keyboard in the first one...
Adrian86 Posted June 19, 2011 Thank you everybody for the great comments! I had a lot of fun building these scenes and am really happy that you also enjoy them. However, brickmack I don´t think I can agree that palaeontology is more interesting ;-) The tile I used for the keyboard was a part I had left from a Space set from my childhood.
