Oh my goodness! I did not know that. I just had to read up all about it and that comic, thats crazy (a cracked article summarizes it in a strangely comedic manner). I think your theory is completely sound, thats probably exactly how it went down.

If you want to look at comic book history, the Joker is so bad that he shouldn't ever be seen by children, but if you can adapt him to make him more child friendly, then the fact that he cut of his own face doesn't even matter. Same can be done for March Harriet and Tarantula

There's definitely a precedent for children's movies being based on unabashed horror, see; all the fairy tales the Disney movies are based off of

Not a clue about officially, I caved and bought one for a bumped up price. It's available on Amazon for about £13 with Prime delivery. It's a "fulfilled by Amazon" product apparently.

I get the feeling that if it does become available in the UK properly, it'll either require a purchase of more than the £13 for the keyring, or it'll involve some other indirect method to get hold of. 

With this one bought, and the 2 Batman giveaway in Feb, it's just the Battlepod Tiger Batsuit I need to figure out how to get and my collection will be complete.

I also just called and they said they've gotten in the accessories. They got a few keychains but not the Kiss Kiss one. They do have the Battlepacks though, so I'm going to swing by there today and pick a couple up.

Expect the Kiss Kiss keychain polybag to appear in selected retail stores, in Switzerland it's available at Manor (extremely crucial bit of information to most of you, I know ). The minimum amount that has to be spent is CHF 25, which is pretty low I think but you don't see me complaining (except that I've already ordered all 13 sets form s@h and thus won't be able to get it that way, bricklink away ). Of course there's no guarantee retailers in other countries will do the same but I think it's quite likely

Well, the difference being that the Joker has been an integral part of the mythos and is about as light or as dark as need be. Lex Luthor stole forty cakes but he also shot a woman in the face at point blank. Tarantula JUST raped Nightwing. That's it. There's literally nothing else of note she's done. You can't look past that because there's nothing else to look at.
