  1. This minifigure series will be all animal costumes! My guess is that will reuse some of the chinese zodiac masks
  2. Have you been able to find the new Spider-man CMF series? Want to know which are the best figures to go after? I can't promise to give you all the answers, but you'll at least get my takes on the series. My family really liked the first Spider-verse movie. The jury is still out on the 2nd. It'll depend on how well the 3rd movie can tie off all the lose ends. My son especially likes Spider-man and was very excited when he saw these were coming out. So, do they hold up to the hype? I bought a full case from the same store as all the other times. I want to give credit to @WhiteFang for his history with the CMF line. I could never do a CMF review as well as he can and I'm not going to try. This will be a fast overview of the series. I used a scanner to identify each figure and had a 100% success rate. I only wanted to open 1 of each figure for the review as I want to keep 1 set sealed and the 3rd will be a Christmas gift in a few months I don't know why Lego doesn't just sell a full case like this. The packaging looks great and it's a wonderful way for collectors to get full sets. Highlighted on the sides are Miles and Gwen. The boxes follow the same format as all the other boxed CMFs. With limited space on the box front I often wonder how Lego decides which characters get highlighted. The flyer inside gives you the full collection list. And the back of the flyer shows instructions for putting together the more "challenging" figures. First up are Spider-man 2099, the Prowler, Spider-Gwen, and Spider-Punk. There are some really great accessories with these 4, Spider-Punk being the absolute stand-out of the entire series. Spider-man 2099 has a plastic cape and Prowler has a cloth one. Prowler and Spider-Punk have new hair pieces that have great re-use options. Spider-Gwen's hair is new too and is only limited by the pink highlights on the end. Spider-Punk comes with both a new mowhawk piece in metallic grey as well as a dreadlocks piece in black. The Prowler has a new braided hairpiece and his helmet has the same braids molded to come out the back. A fantastic level of detail. Spider-man 2099's statue has a little printing around the head but can still make a great Star Wars hologram piece. Next up are the... encumbered Spider-people. Crime fighting with a baby in your front is not easy! The Cybor Spider-Woman has a great neck accessory that will show up on many MOCs I'm sure. Sun-Spider has amazing arm printing, a color new hat element, and the new crutch piece in black. Old man Spider-man is one of the weaker characters as you can't use any of his new prints outside of this character. Spider-Byte is cool, but also limited in re-use. And last up are the animal friend Spider-men. Miles has another new hair piece and great arm printing. Spider-man India's hair is also new and very cool. I appreciate that the cowboy Web-Slinger has a generic shirt and pants that can be used in any Western MOC. The animals (including the Werewolf Spider-man) are all limited due to the mask printed on their faces. CMF series are known for introducing new elements. But apart from the capes, the only new elements released with this series are the hair elements. What we lack in new elements the series tries to make up for in new prints including some great new skin tone prints. Verdict? SCORE DESIGN 7 There is great detail printed on all of the figures. However, most figures are limited in use outside of the Spider-verse. That's fine if you just want more Spider-men, but if you want to use the parts to customize this series is more limited than a traditional, non-IP CMF series. PARTS 6 I'm a sucker for new hair elements so I love that aspect of this series. But there really aren't that many other parts to get excited about. VALUE FOR MONEY 6.5 Compared to the F1 series, these are fantastic. But compared to almost any other series these struggle to compete. If you get a full set you really don't need more outside of a specific MOC idea. Other CMFs I was fine adding 1 or 2 to my cart when I shopped just to enjoy the surprise of what I might get an extra of. But with these, I feel no need to go out and buy more except for maybe Spider-Punk. That mowhawk is really cool. FINAL SCORE: 6.5 For a series based on an IP concept this collection is amazing. For anything else, I'd advise you to save your money.
  3. Since there are the first leaked pictures out now and we seem to (surprisingly) have no thread for it yet, I thought it would be the time to just make one ;). First of all the facts we know so far: Pieces: 3745 Estimated Price: 360$/320£ Release:1st April 2024The Set was made based on a fan design from an Lego Ideas Contest, you can find the winner announcement here. The leaked picture is, as always quite bad quality and can be found in the usual places, so I will wait to judge the build when we got better pictures of it. So far I would say they added a lot details including D&D creatures such as the Beholder and seems to include at least 6 minifigures including a dragonborn using the vidiyo-dragon head in green. Nice catch, as always I fail to see so many details in those low quality-pics. Rogue looks quite obvious but I couldn´t have identyfied the High Elven Druid exactly as this. Also it seems like we are getting a D&D CMF in September: 21348 Lego Ideas Dungeons & Dragons and D&D CMF - Page 3 - LEGO Historic Themes - Eurobricks Forums
  4. It seems we have the list for Series 27! 1. Wolfpack Beastmaster 2. Pirate Quartermaster 3. Steampunk Inventor 4. Pterodactyl Costume Fan 5. Bogeyman 6. Jetpack Racer 7. Cat Lover 8. Longboarder 9. Astronomer Kid 10. Cupid 11. Hamster Costume Fan 12. Plush Toy Source: exabricks
  5. Hi everyone, I had a few ideas with the Super Warrior figure from the latest CMF series. I present to you my latest build. Trouble in the City A time traveler is in the city and is causing havoc. The Red Warriors have come to deal with this time traveler. For more pictures, please look into my Flickr album.
  6. Dear Everyone, As you may know, CMF is celebrating its 10th Birthday! The 20th Series that came out this year didn’t pay too much attention to it, so I chose to make a tribute series. I made a series made up by some of the figs from the first 7 series. Why 7? The 7th Series is one of my favourite, and I wanted to use only the first few series. I didn’t want to just repeat them, so I made some modification to them, mostly recoloring, sometimes something else. The lineup is mostly my personal favourite minifigs, but some of them doesn’t work in other color (like the Mime or the Royal Guard) and there would be too many Castle/Fantasy minifigs, so I tried to pick „regular” ones as well. I know it is not as extraordinary as a totally new series, but I'm curious if you would love to see such a series by TLG. Let’s see them right away: Series 1 Demolition Dummy Series 1 Forestman Series 2 Spartan Warrior Series 3 Elf Series 3 Orangutan Suit Guy Series 4 Biohazard Guy Series 4 Kimono Girl Series 4 Lawn Gnome Series 5 Evil Dwarf Series 6 Bandit Series 6 Highland Battler Series 6 Intergalactic Girl Series 6 Surgeon Series 7 Evil Knight Series 7 Galaxy Patrol Series 7 Rocker Girl
  7. Hi, I'm currently looking at changing the way I display my CMF series 1-19 (Soon to be 20) and the other series (Disney, Batman, Olympics etc what I call special series). Currently I have them separate. I wouldn't mind adding them together in date release order however feel the Olympics would look odd on their own when harry potter has almost 3 times as many figures in the set. My Current format, inside is a honeycomb structure for strength, but generally it's hollow with 2 supporting arms running under figures 6 and 11. but it is now starting to get too deep and high and series 1 is constantly getting knocked over during cleaning of the house or when anything brushes the edge of the table. My current idea would be to change displaying the series horizontally to vertically. How do people display their series and does anyone have any suggestions on how I could change mine to save room, wall mounting isn't an option unfortunately.
  8. I've been an avid collector of the CMF line since I came out of my dark ages in 2017, so I do look forward to every release. Something I've noticed with the DC CMF series is that, in the UK at least, retailers are not stocking them. The only place I've seen them for sale is in the official Lego Store. Does anybody know why that might be? Is there a delayed official release, so that only the official store has them? Or is it due to the fact that retailers aren't stocking the shelves with them at the new price of £3.49 when the older series aren't exactly flying from the shelves at the regular £3 price. In all shops I've checked so far, they're still well stocked with Series 19 and TLM2 series, but no DC. EDIT: Scrub that - I've just been out and they've at last put them on shelves in my local Tesco. Nowhere else though.
  9. Here are some of my modded Series 19 Collectible Minifigures along with minifigures that have benefited from S19 parts and thematically related minifigures. All of them are undead, so just in time for Halloween! ? I should have included a picture of the back of the violet vampire: she has a spider crawling up her cape. ? Questions? Comments? Creeped out?

  11. Here is my video review + feel guide on series 19: 1. Video Game Champ Lovely new game controller piece. (but realise it looks great but not practical because the figure wont be able to hold it both hands XD) Very nicely printed torso. 2. Shower Guy Love the blushing facial expression. Interesting print under the bath towel. Green rubber duck is less useful than the yellow one. 3. Fright Knight Great new clear sword piece. The real gem of this figure is the printed torso underneath the armour. 4. Monkey King Excellent printing and details through out. Surprised to see 2 different facial expressions. Not sure if regions that are not familiar with Journey to West will appreciate the details put into this figure. 5. Programmer Nice easter egg on the torso print. The little robot is also interesting and useful outside CMF. 6. Mummy Queen Nice printings and the print quality is good. Accessory is a bit bland and not really that keen to have 5 of them in a box. 7. Jungle Explorer Great Chameleon! Nice to see new colour of this type of back pack. 8. Fire Fighter I like the new fire fighter cap with hair moulded to it. A big light in terms of accessory. 9. Dog Sitter LEGO POOP! love it! Not one but TWO DOGS!!! Also interesting facial expression too. 10. Pizza Costume Guy Like the new face. Will appeal to food costume collectors but other wise nothing surprising here. I guess every one saw this one coming when the water melon guy released with LEGO MOVIE 2 CMF. 11. Galactic Bounty Hunter Very detailed printing again. Love the use of clear red piece for the tablet. 12. Gardner LEGO flamengo!!! Great new torso prints and legs. Also love the new colour of this hair piece. 13. Rugby Player Love bland at first glance but the facial expressions are brilliant. Would be better to include an extra hair piece. 14. Fox Costume Girl Probably a left over from the LEGO MOVIE 2 CMF? Like the colouring. One of the face expression is really evil if you consider there is a chicken included. 15. Bear Costume Guy Like the face underneath the costume. Great rainbow piece! very useful to combine with the 1x1 square rainbow tile. 16. Mountain Biker Surprised to see a bike included. (Too easy to feel) Great new helmet with hair moulded to it. Overall, I like this series. I'm genuinely surprised on the number of double sided face and animals in this series. Some of the printings are exceptionally well done. It's great to see no more rare figure and if you are looking for the whole box, you do get 3 complete sets. And if you are just looking for individual figure, this series isn't that hard to feel either. Personally, my favourites are the Dog Sitter and the Monkey King. The fright knight's torso printing is a surprise for me, the went extra mile on that. The weakest in my opinion is probably the Mummy Queen but this is just me. It's hard for me to not recommend this to everyone because minifigures are always great. Now time for me to get more extra Dog sitter so I can make some moc heavily feature poops XD
  12. Thanks to the IG leakers now we know a regular series is coming our way next spring. Its a bit early but we have a lot to talk about this series since this one will mark the 20th regular series and the 10th anniversary of the CMF theme What will Series 20 bring? The Character Encyclopedia Vol 2? Another super rare chase character? An "all stars" series? A series with classic characters like the Series 18 Policeman? A themed series? Anothet Party? A regular normal series?
  13. So we had a winner! Thanks for playing this game!
  14. I'm trying to recreate the one model made in the LEGO Club Magazine for the first series of Collectable Minfigures that didn't come with instructions in 2010; the Clown car. I've basically been recreating it in LDD and so far the one area I'm having issue in is the round front section with the blue stud. The car looks like it uses this mudguard, but whatever the front rounded plate with the blue stud is connected to seems to collide with the studs of said mudguard and can't be placed down flat, meaning it may not be the same but red rounded plates. That or it's connected to a hinge piece at the back to "drape" over part of the car at an angle, but would there be enough stud space to do that length wise? It could also just be a matter of what's connected to the grey piece and the answer not being the same, rounded plate, but it does look like it's rounded like the front piece and I'm not sure of other similarly rounded pieces that are shorter to accomodate for the mudguard studs and still connect to the rest of car through SNOT. TLDR; I'm bewildered by the construction of the SNOT-based, blue/grey/red middle front section of the car and wonder if anyone here could take a crack at it. EDIT: Here's a link to the image I took from that might be slightly better quality: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4642125
  15. Hi everyone, A happy new year to you all. I want to show you my latest creation. This castle is the home of the Black Crows. The men are preparing to march through the lands. Some people are moving crates and barrels to the storage rooms. I wanted to use the Tournament Knights. This was a great excuse to do something with the new minifigures. For more pictures, please look into my Flickr album. Comments/feedback/questions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  16. My modded minifigures from the Disney 2 CMF series, plus some minifigures that benefited from parts from the series and a few thematically related minifigures: My intention was to create generic fantasy and horror/fantasy minifigures, not to re-imagine characters from Disney or any other franchise. Arguably, the houri is just a yellow version of Jasmine, but I can live with that ?. Questions, comments, consternation?
  17. Discuss your hopes, wishes, and speculation on what LEGO's Collectable Minifigure line may offer for Sci-Fi fans in the near future!
  18. Hi, with Lego revealing the Disney CMF series 2 the other day, what do you all think about the minifigure below and could that be our lot for Castle this year? The accessories are of interest to me, so I'll be stocking up on those.
  19. My mods of the D&D figures from the Collectible Minifigures line as well as from set 21348 Red Dragon's Tale. Figures that did not come from either but have benefited from their parts are also included. Note that not all of the minifigures are modded. Some such as Strahd, Szass Tam and the Lady of Pain are as sold. Most of the parts are LEGO. Only four of the pieces are third party. I did use a couple of non-purist techniques. Overall though, they're close to purity.
  20. We're back again with another CMF review! I bought a number of individual space figures but wasn't interested in getting 3 copies of each one so I skipped buying a case of the Series 26. However, as a castle builder I was highly interested in the D&D CMFs. As Lego still won't sell a full case I bought mine from the same store as before. This review still won't be as good as Whitefang's, but hopefully it'll help you decide whether these figures are worth pursuing or not. Before we get into the review let me say that I've never played D&D so many of the references in this series go over my head. My knowledge of D&D is limited to what I learned from watching Community and Stranger Things. However I can certainly appreciate the amount of detail that went into these even if I don't know all the source material. With the introduction of QR codes on the boxes, finding figures using an app has become the new normal. If you're interested in knowing the order of the figures in my box let me know and I'll share it. But I'm going to assume you've all fallen for the Brick Search ads and downloaded the app. I do not endorse the app, though I did use it to see if it would work for the D&D series (it did). If someone from Brick Search reads this feel free to share some insight in the comments, but the site/app clearly has a lot of money to spend on SEO because I see their adds everywhere. For a "free" app, I have to wonder how they are making all that money and what information of mine they are collecting and selling. But enough about online data concerns, first up are the Elf Bard, Gith Warlock, Halfling Druid, and Dwarf Barbarian. Each of these comes with both a male and female, dual sided head. Bard I'm not a fan of the gaudy color scheme for the Bard. The magenta scarf and gloves especially seem too bright for other castle/fantasy settings. Thankfully those are easily removable/changable. The silver lipstick on the female head however can't be changed. The new hairpiece for the Bard is excellent and I hope Lego gives it to use in more colors. Gith Speaking of which, I love that they re-used the hairpiece for the Gith Warlock and gave it yellow ears. This is especially nice for the builders who still like to use all yellow minifigures in their MOCs. Halfling The Halfling is fantastic all around. The brown cape looks great and it's nice to get a different cut for it. I also really like the mutton chops on the male head. The sparrow also looks fantastic with it's white crown. Dwarf I love the torso and fur-collar combo, but I feel like the dwarf is really missing having a beard piece. Female dwarves are known to have beards too, so this would have been a great chance for Lego to include it. The hairpiece is necessary for the collar to work, but it's not my favorite for a dwarf figure. The new axe head is amazing though. Next set includes the Mind Flayer, Aarakocra Ranger, Dragonborn Paladin and Tiefling Sorcerer. Only the Tiefling comes with different heads. Mind Flayer As far as being able to re-use figures for other castle settings the Mind Flayer is very limited. You could use the robe for a villain, but it's pretty limited outside that. Aarakocra Our bird friend is also more limited but has a fantastic torso that can be used in many scenarios. The puppy is cute, but I would have rather gotten a more exotic pet. Dragonborn The beefy armor is fantastic and I love that the torso underneath is so detailed. The new mace piece needs to show up in other colors as it'll make fantastic pillar toppers. Tiefling The tail not having purple printing in front is too bad. Lego did that with Monkie Kid figures to I know it's possible. The dragon mold is incredible. The last set includes named characters: The Lady of Pain, Szass Tam, Tasha the Witch Queen and Strahd von Zarovich. Lady of Pain She is my least favorite out of all the characters. The least re-usable potential and her accessories aren't interesting to me. Tam I like the re-colored, classic skeleton head. Tasha Great details on the torso and legs. The arms are especially re-usable. Strahd He looks ok, but the bit of sand-blue fur on the right shoulder seems a little odd. There are decent number of extra parts (the top part of the photo) with the best being the extra Gith knife. There are also a great number of new molds and re-colors. The dwarf axe has an anti-stud on the bottom allowing you to attach it to light-saber handles, torches, or other pieces to add versatility to your weapons. Also of interest are the base plates. I have hundreds of the plain black bases so for me it's great to get some variety. Having something like the Disney symbol means the versatility is nil. But the stars for series 6 and the cobble stones here are fantastic. I imagine we'll see them used on lots of MOCs. Verdict? SCORE DESIGN 9 Even if you aren't a D&D player it's easy to appreciate the designs in this series. PARTS 9 There are some really great parts. I won't be filling my castle with walking brains. But expect to see some trans-red skeleton head bottles and axe wielding figures in my future MOCs. VALUE FOR MONEY 10 Buying a case is money well spent. Using something like an app to get the figures you want would also work. If you're going in blind and hoping to not get The Lady of Pain then it's a gamble. But overall this series is certainly a good value. FINAL SCORE: 9 Lego keeps out-doing themselves. My biggest complaint is with the named characters. I wish Lego had stuck to all generic characters and let people build their own von Zarovich's. But this is still a solid series.
  21. (This may have been done before but I’m not familiar with any previous endeavor so I will make and post this nonetheless) LEGO SPACE, beginning in the 1980s, has had many factions, some being Blacktron, Spyrius, UFO, Space Police and more. Since beginning in 2010, the LEGO theme “Collectible Minifigures” has had many figures belonging to different space factions. However, not all of them belong to a pre-established faction, so this post will be made to not only detail the different space factions that have appeared in the various CMFs but primarily to assess those that are NOT preexisting factions, many of which have still not been given names as far as I’m aware. Since many figures are a part of factions one can posit that all space figures derive from and are representative of a particular faction (they don’t have to be but I will consider them as such for this post.) First, there are the: PRE-EXISTING, ALREADY ESTABLISHED, LEGO SPACE FACTIONS: Standard LEGO Space Agency (identified by the classic space logo): S1 Spaceman, S6 Intergalactic Girl, S7 Galaxy Patrol (dubbed “Space Marine” by some), S12 Space Miner, S15 Astronaut, S21 Space Police Guy, S22 Alien Creature, S22 Robot Repair Tech*, and S24 Brown Astronaut *The Robot Repair Tech’s look is complete enough and technologically advanced enough that it could not be made by someone or something without the necessary resources (they have a mining operation in space per the S12 space miner (perhaps a space-offshoot of Rock Raiders and Power Miner?)); it has a general, almost “focus-tested” look, like a modern civic/mainstream look (even arguably trying to look “cutesy”), like those of town/city buses, advertisements, maybe even streaming services, etc.; it is not Blacktron, Spyrius, or any other faction as its colors most align with the variety present in the standard space agency’s output; many have theorized that the standard space agency has a very wide reach (S22 Alien Creature shows that non-earth beings are enlisting/joining) and may even be rather fascistic and/or totalitarian (semi-jokingly but Space Police 3, Alien Conquest, S7 Galactic Trooper, and Galaxy Squad do put forth much compelling evidence: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LQ3lfUxkm90 (some of these elements are now diminished a bit due to the existence of the S22 Alien Creature)); taking all this into account, the faction with the most reach, necessary resources, and that would have presence in the civic sphere, would be the standard space agency. Blacktron: S3 Space Villain, S11 Evil Mech, S19 Galactic Bounty Hunter Galaxy Squad (presumably an offshoot of the standard space agency but I will include it as its own faction since no such figure has the standard space agency logo): S13 Galaxy Trooper; this figure has on its chest armor, in the same places as all human Galaxy Squad minifigures, the same, exact symbols as them, except the symbol on their left has a gap in the middle of it (this symbol is present on the back of the S13 Galaxy Trooper’s armor as well.) I have never seen this mentioned anywhere before which is a bit disappointing. Alien Conquest aliens’ faction: S8 Alien Villainess UNESTABLISHED LEGO SPACE FACTIONS FROM THE CMF SERIES (I’m not familiar with every symbol used by a LEGO space faction so some of these may actually be from preexisting factions): S1 Robot: This could just be a helper robot made by the standard space agency. If it is representative of a species or faction, then the colors of their ships and overall aesthetics would presumably be light gray and silver with very plain/non-intricate designs. S3 Alien: It uses the Sqidman/Squidtron head but doesn’t seem to be of that same species (and according to the lore, Squidman may by the only alien of his kind (which is why he created Squidtron.)) It is most similar to the Alien Conquest aliens’ faction. Assuming it is a part of a faction and like the other factions their outfits and even skin colors match their vehicles and overall aesthetics, the ships for this species would be lime green, purple, gold, light gray and/or dark gray, and maybe silver and a light blue (perhaps just as highlights.) S6 Classic Alien: Assuming its ships are those of what is commonly ascribed to it, they would be modern-looking UFOs, retro UFOs, or anything apparently sighted. S8 Evil Robot: This could be an unaffiliated character, perhaps an experiment gone wrong or something of an outlaw, but assuming it is representative of a particular faction, then the vehicles and overall aesthetics would be black, red, and gunmetal. They almost seem like the LEGO space equivalent of the Borg. S9 Alien Avenger: The “Avenger” in the name relates to this description I found on bricksandminifigsanaheim.com (and the Portland version too) which reads like an official LEGO description so I’m going to post it here: “This alien species is constantly being bullied by others, but enough is enough! The Alien Avenger has bulked up, collected armor, and fashioned his own laser pistol to take out those who would threaten his home world!” It sounds like this species has been hurt by and/or caught in the fights of the standard space agency, Blacktron, Galaxy Squad, etc. This fits in to the overall situation of LEGO space, which is many space factions most of which competing or at odds with each other. This makes this avenger species seem more pacifistic from the start, donning their weapons as a means of defense. I personally am rooting for them. Their ships would presumably be bulky, consisting mostly of dark gray and bronze with silver highlights. Before knowing the figure’s official name and reading its description, to me this figure looked like it could’ve been a part of a species that was the LEGO space equivalent to the Klingons or the Star Wars EU/Legends’ Yuuzhan Vong. S9 Battle Mech: This figure doesn’t have any of the Galaxy Squad symbols but it looks almost exactly like one and it came out in the same year, included in the year’s first CMF. Though it lacks any symbols, it may be a part of Galaxy Squad and simply something similar to the S12 Dino Tracker, S19 Jungle Explorer, or even S9 Mr. Good And Evil, where the figures either belong to a theme or are remakes of older figures; S12 DT is a part of the Dino theme, S19 JE is Johnny Thunder, and arguably S9 MG&E is Monster Fighters, which is arguably further supported by a cover image used for the LEGO Worlds Monsters pack (even the S2 Witch and a differently-colored variant of the S1 Zombie were arguably, retroactively made into Monster Fighters minifigures with the set 850487 Halloween Accessory Set/Pack, whose box-art is very similar to if not exactly that of the Monster Fighters sets.) S6 Clockwork Robot and S11 Lady Robot: These are likelier to be none-space figures but they still could be considered or classified as such. The aesthetics of their vehicles would be blockier, feature gears, dials, cogs and lights, and colors such as light blue, red, gray, silver, pink, purple, and yellow. S15 Laser Mech and S16 Cyborg: These are seemingly both of the same faction/kind. These figures stand out from the others in that they are the only non-established faction to have two, different figures (not counting the possible S6 and S11 clockwork robots, but they are just differently gendered versions anyways) and to have a figure referenced in a rather substantive way; the Cyborg is on the S19 Game Champ’s “Space Game” (for the Game Box) cover. The aesthetics for this faction, assuming they are not a part of a preexisting one (addressed soon), would be primarily light blue and black with lime green highlights and maybe some silver. If these figures are a part of an already existing faction, then they would seemingly be a part of the 90s Insectoid faction in a way similar to the aforementioned S9 Mr. Good And Evil, S12 Dino Tracker, and S19 Jungle Explorer, where they are made intended as certain figures and/or belonging to certain themes but are not explicitly mentioned as being such; the aesthetics of the Cyborg could be considered an updated version of the Insectoid faction’s aesthetics (Roboforce is second likeliest but Cyborg’s aesthetics feel more Insectoids-like.) S17 Retro Space Hero: This figure is either an unaffiliated hero or a part of an older/retro version of the standard space agency. Its aesthetics, which would carry over to its vehicles, are those of old, science fiction pulps (pulp magazines/comics) and serials. S21 Alien: This alien appears to be in a prison jumpsuit (it may not be but since it was in the same series as the Space Police Guy and was seemingly intended as a companion minifigure, I assume it’s a prison jumpsuit.) If it is a part of a group or faction, then per Space Police lore, especially that of the most recent incarnation of the theme, this alien is a member of Brick Daddy’s Blackhole Gang. S24 Robot Warrior: This figure may be Earth-based, seemingly being from an anime-type vein or a Japanese media vein like the S20 Super Warrior (“Super Sentai” it has been fittingly referred to) (both figures are “[blank] Warrior”.) Its aesthetics are those of common, action-oriented anime stories, similar to how the aesthetics of the S17 Retro Space Hero are old science fiction pulps and serials; I don’t think I have to explain what colors or styles it would consist of then. FIGURES THAT DO NOT COUNT BUT WILL BE MENTIONED SINCE THEY ARE RELATED TO WHATEVER DEGREE: S17 Rocket Boy S23 Cardboard Robot SPACE REFERENCES PRESENT WITH OR ON OTHER FIGURES: (Already mentioned) S19 Game Champ’s “Space Game” (for the Game Box) cover S20 Space Fan’s shirt has a classic space spaceship (there is also a saturn planet sticker on the pants which may or may not be a reference to the standard space agency’s logo) S21 Violin Kid’s shirt is white with a small, black collar (or that’s just the neck opening and a shadow), covered with Blacktron logos FIN If there is anything I didn’t mention let me know
  22. Surprise! You didn't think EB was going to release a review for the newest CMF 25 series did you? Well, I'm no WhiteFang. But I recently moved from the United States to France and haven't found any good stores to buy CMFs from. So I went looking around online and found a great shop here in Europe selling a whole case of them. (And it's on sale till Jan 29th!) And since they shipped them so fast I had time to do a quick review. I've got to say, until Lego starts giving me the option to either 1) buy a full set of figures or 2) buy a whole case this is going to be my new way to buy CMFs. Inside my shipping box was this half-box from Lego. Not sure if Brickshop gets two cases per box or what, but this is how they shipped it to me. For those interested, this is the order I had for my figs. I've had people on Instagram tell me they had a different order for their figs. So use it at your own risk. But surely they use the same layout order within the same factory. First up are my favorite figs out of the bunch, the medieval ones. I was happy the Goatherd didn't have yellow hiding under the hood so I can use it with fleshies if I want. Biggest complaint from this bunch is that the injection mold spots are really obvious on the Bat helmet and the purple Harpy hair. I also wish the Barbarian's hair wasn't red but was a more muted color. I hope they re-use it in tan, blonde, or another more natural hair color shade. Up second are the city dwellers. I like the molded hearing aid on the Dog Groomer's hair. Though it does limit it's versatility a bit. My leas favorite part is the poor print job on the Workout Girl's abs. Yellow printed on Coral didn't work. We pay a premium Lego, get the details right! I also hope we see the para-olympic's legs with grey or black shorts in the future. I'd love to use those as Star Wars greebling! And last but not least are the costumes. I'm going to be using the Noir Detective's outfit as an Imperial uniform. And the inclusion of a honest-to-goodness Red Herring is amazing. The Dino's arms and legs are also getting repurposed as Trandosian parts. And the Mushroom hat will find a way into one of my castle MOCs at some point. My least favorite part is the mis-match of color on the train costume. I love that we got the wheels in dark-red. But the middle wheel (which is part of the molded costume piece where as the front and back and trolley wheels clipped on) should match them, not be normal red. Here's a closer look at the color inconsistencies. Verdict? SCORE DESIGN 7 I thought this was a good grouping of figures. The designs range from "good" to "amazing!" with nothing feeling overly sub-par. PARTS 8 We're all really here for the goat, I know. But even outside of that we get a really good selection of parts. And a good variety for City, Castle, and other kinds of builders. VALUE FOR MONEY 8 If you can get a whole case or manage to use an orthoscope, scale or other method to find the figs you want these are decent value for money. FINAL SCORE: 8 One of, if not the top favorite CMF series of all time. I think Lego really knocked it out of the park this time.
  23. I decided to try myself in classic space. The most fragile shitp you ever seen. I hope you dont need explanation why?
  24. So, we are here; the 25th regular series. This will be the first regular series in boxes, and that will really put it through the wringer, so I hope they'll bring the house down with the characters/designs/accesories, etc Also, this kind of is a milestone celebration series like Series 10 or Series 20 (although they really didnt bother with the later one)
  25. As a HUGE lifelong fan of the Muppets, the upcoming CMF line will -- assuming the rumors are true -- be the first one I collect in its entirety! Coincidentally, I've just learned to use Studio 2.0 from BrickLink and thought I'd share a few pending creations. My first design is a "Muppet arches" frame for all 12 figures. I don't have the space nor the disposable income to afford a large-scale stage set, as some other designers are doing -- impressive as some of them are! This design is centered on the arches alone, with a base and top detailing meant to be more evocative of the Muppet Theater than a literal depiction of it. (Because it's so narrow with lots of single-stud connection points, I'm wondering how stable it will be in real life; I plan to see about reinforcing those stacked round bricks with interior rods, and I have a backup plan to extend the sides in the back with some black scaffolding if it seems prone to topple.) My second design is Rowlf's piano. Because my Girlfriend is particularly fond of Rowlf, I plan to snag a second figure to add to a vignette that she can keep at her own piano. Rowlf plays a few pianos on the show; my design is based on the upright model, because it was simplest in terms of design and most efficient in terms of space. I'd have preferred a slightly different shade of brown -- perhaps dark brown, to better contrast with Rowlf himself -- but reddish brown was the only color that had all the parts I needed. Anyway ... I'm particularly pleased with how the book is integrated into the piano to hold up the sheet music. (And I may swap out the hair on the Beethoven bust, as pictured. We'll see how it looks IRL!) Feeback welcome! And here's a link to the IO files, if anyone wants them. P.S. If the leaks are correct, I'm not happy with the choice of outfits for Gonzo. I'd have much preferred his classic maroon tux! I'm thinking I may swap in the dark red Harry Potter goblin torso from set 4714, along with matching legs and perhaps a black bow tie piece (though even if it covers the tiny one, it may not fit the overlarge head). It's not a perfect match for the original show, but it comes closer than any other part I could identify. (As an alternative, President Business's argyle sweater vest is a reasonable approximation of Gonzo's outfit circa The Great Muppet Caper and The Muppets Take Manhattan, though it would be more accurate if it were gray rather than sand green.)
