I've been seeing some struggles online with the Old Engine Shed and integrating with LEGO track (though I'm sure most on this forum would be aware of these solutions) RobinHood Bricks extends the ballast out a few studs, though this introduces a 1 stud offset- fine for a loose layout but not in a more structured one. I shifted the tracks back one piece. All I needed was a replacement for the 6x8 plate below the rail, I opted for a 1x8 and 4x8 plate. Inside the shed, it just required replacing a 1x6 tile with a 1x4. Though OSHA might have some complaints. This should allow for the most versatility, and allows for use of a Trix Brix adapter piece too (of course, that option needs a tad more modification of plates, but sliding that 3d printed part under the rail will make it fit properly, I just didn't want to bother at the moment) And all it took was pulling out a 1x8 plate on the siding. Over all, I don't think the fuss it's been getting about it being 'incompatible' is warranted. Separate rails have their trade-offs, and having the bay underneath makes the most sense for this model. And adding engines to the scene definitely improves the display! (Oops - made a mistake on the sticker placement when I was trying to make it square. Though I didn't realize I placed it in the wrong orientation.)

Hello, Brickwest Studio, formerly submitted by BrickyBricks82 to Lego Ideas, was given a second chance in the Bricklink Designer Program Round 2 competition. Due to the tragedy on the set of Rust, this set was moved to the Round 3. It had a good chance to qualify for production in round 2 but I fear it could not in the round 3 as a lot people are chatting about the 8 other projects. Only the first five designs to reach 3,000 pre-orders will be produced. I wonder if the fans of LEGO Historic Themes plan to buy a set like this? If you do, maybe we can make it real :) I love this set because it has an Old West vibe ;) What do you think about that? (I don't know BrickyBricks82 and I have no interest in this project ^^ I just love this set and would like to share it with other people who would like to get one like me ;) )

Fingers crossed it won't be another empty year like 2021 but I guess we wait and see! I was expecting 60198 Cargo Train to be retired back in 2022, but it seems it has replaced the 3677/60098 slot as a second available cargo train to complement 60336. Bricklink Designer Program Separately, several trains-related BL Designer Program sets have been chosen for crowdfunding, some which I'm certainly looking forward to: Series 1 (Crowdfunding February 2024, Production and Shipping July 2024): Old Train Engine Shed by Mind_the_Brick Series 2 (Refining Finalist Details September 1st 2023 - May 1st 2024, Crowdfunding June 2024, Production and Shipping November 2024): Brick Cross Train Station by brickester Logging Railway by ties25 All require 3,000 preorders to be made and have a maximum of 20,000. I can't remember how successful preorders for Studgate were bur that can probably lead to some kind of predictions for this. Series 5 (2025) has another train set in it. I'm interested to see how these play out and how popular they are. I think it could be quite an interesting year. Discuss below, and @JopieK maybe pin the topic at the top?

She's done. It took a bit more time than I thought. I was a bit slow to get back to her after she missed out on BDP approval. But the new design is significantly better. Back angle. Much cleaner. Forgive the missing parts/mismatched colors. Here's the cloth conversion proof. Th square sail is unfortunately a custom (reasoning is below). The good news is that it is the same dimensions as the square sail from the Eldorado cutter. This means with some recoloring and a little crafting, you can easily convert it to a merchant or imperial vessel. Just about everything that bothered me about the build has been fixed except the following: 1) The brickbuilt gaff sail's connection has some stress and is likely illegal. To me, the simplicity of the design and the angle of the gaff are more important than a little stress on a technic 4 axle. 2) To get the sexy front hull curve without gaps on the outside, I needed to use jumper plates. so there's a little half step offset on the wall behind the ladders. There's probably a way of using some technic technique, but whatever, it's behind muskets, ladders, rigging, and similar color parts, nobody cares. 3) The front cannon has a stud that attaches into a round tile with technic hole. Illegal. 4) I wanted to get the part to lot ratio of 3:1. Couldn't get there. The double build and specialized ship parts killed the dream. Overall price is shockingly good. If you cut the dragon plume, muskets, swords, and make the cannon/swivel black you can hit 10 cents per part before shipping. 5) The curved up aft section. I love them, but it's a stupid number of plates and the bottom part (brown wedge and black wedge plate keel) doesn't attach well to the top part of the section (one 2x3 plate). Thankfully the rest of the attachment holds it into place. The build is solid. A kid could play with it. The back might get lose with rough play, but I'm not worried about a kid picking it up. You can pick the build up by the mast and it holds. but I wish it was more satisfying. 6) Some parts of the instructions need callouts instead of individual pages. Moving them, moved other things. I'm so tired of instructions. I left them in. 7) My original goal was to use a renegade runner style sail plan with no custom pieces, only the fore/aft sails from the Barracuda. There may not be a good way given how small they cut the gaff sail. The gaff is either comically low compared to the fore or ridiculously high compared to the stern. To make matters worse, the zip hoses TLC uses for rigging now are almost too long for this ship. Without a square sail, the rigging is way too high. This forced my hand, there needs to be a custom sail. Perhaps the saddest part is that the OG plan was to do a fore/aft for the sloop, then lengthen the hull and add a square sail for a bluecoat version. Now they'll look too similar. There you have it. A few improvements have been made from the previous series, such as a modified tree with a bit more of a fantasy feel and a more fitting colour scheme, and the underside of the wings have been given a red support to make the dragon a bit more interesting. It is not actually based on an existing character, I studied some cool AI generated pictures and some cool dragon head builds, but I built something brand new. My intent was to create a poseable animal instead of a static statue and added a small tower and two wizards to the set for more playability options. The Wizard of Light has a staff and a crystal ball. The rear of the tower is removable to make the interior space accessible, and the door works as well. I prefer the brick built solutions to keep the flexibility of the used parts in further builds, and therefore only two stickes are used for the dragon eyes and they are based on the printed part 98138pb386 which is not available in this series. Dimensions of the dragon (as it is shown on the main picture): Width: 71.0 studs / 22.4 in / 56.8 cm Length: 67.5 studs / 21.3 in / 54.0 cm Height: 44.8 studs / 14.1 in / 35.8 cm Some rotation joints can only be stable in certain positions, for example the tail end must rest on the ground. Welp, here she is! Background: The Scalawag started as an attempt to get effective hull curves on a smaller frame, and I think I've nailed it. Originally, I had 1x6x3 1/3 (part 6060) arches for the front, but those weren't available for the BDP, but using round plates and tiles worked out. Some of my favorite pirate ships have been smaller form: the original Imperial Guard Flagship (6271), the Renegade Runner (6268), the Armada Flagship (6280). This was an attempt to make a ship that fused those with the smaller ship type from the IGTP and Eldorado. I also wanted a ship that could populate some of the harbors we have (Eldorado, Tortuga, and Barracuda Bay). Essentially, I wanted to "add" masts/sails to those ports. So the ship needed to be small enough to dock there without overwhelming the port. Speaking of Barracuda Bay, I wanted a sloop that can interact with the harbor. Not everyone could get 2 copies of it. One extra note: this ship should easily fit the gaff/jib PoBB sail if you want to go all cloth. And those are the easiest sails to leave out of the bay anyway. I tried to keep the overall aesthetic in line with TLC. I didn't want it to look like a crazy moc next to PoBB or Eldorado. Rudder is controllable from a tiller up top. Note the gentle upward slope of the stern. I don't think it's illegal, it was approved after all! The build is solid and stable, through and through. It should be playable, though the cannons can be a little weak. There will be stickers to add patches to the hammock piece. And yes a figure can sleep in the hammock with the stern deck in place! How would a pirate decorate his sleeping quarters? I don't think this one will be approved, but it's worth a shot! Here's a back-up incase the other is too racy! The build is pretty stable. I'm waiting on a bricklink order to confirm that the stays support the mast well enough, but the mast design was based on Lego's 3 in 1 Viking Ship, so the theory is sound. The curved hull is sturdy enough to allow figures to connect to it; it isn't overly fragile. Let me know what you think! And please vote here:

Hello, I’m excited to share my new MOC, the "Flame Tourer" — a black concert truck adorned with brick-built flames - inspired by my childhood favorite, a similarly decorated ’57 Chevy Matchbox car. It’s now submitted to the Bricklink Designer Program (BDP) Series 8: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-8/2924/Flame-Tourer It pairs perfectly with Speed Champions cars and it is great for LEGO City too – just add a crowd and start the show! It includes many details like a front bumper with integrated lights and a registration plate, sleek modern headlights with turn signals, and a distinctive grill featuring a custom logo and frame. Stickers are not used to keep the flexibility of the parts in further builds. I tried to fill every unnecessary gaps and therefore some tricky build techniques are used. The set includes 4 minifigures and offers plenty of playability. Both the truck and trailer feature removable roof assemblies, revealing highly detailed interiors. The truck cabin includes a driver’s seat with steering wheel, detailed dashboard, gear shift, passenger seat, and a sleeper area with a lamp. The trailer contains a cozy living space with a sofa, bunk bed, mini kitchen, and a functional bathroom (toilet and shower). It also includes the most elements of a mobile stage and musical instruments. The remaining stage components are stored in the trailer's left-side lower storage compartment, which features a practical accordion-style folding door for easy access. The trailer's rear door can double as a stage backdrop, see picture 9. All doors in the set are fully functional, enhancing the play experience - and of course you can assemble the stage and let the show begin! I hope you enjoy this set. The set is influenced by Classic Space set and also contains references to other Space factions. It includes 5 minifigures and a droid. The pod from the Alienator walker is designed to also be compatible with #10355 Renegade's dropship function.
