  1. A show-accurate version of Ninjago's Tiger Widow. I felt the set version was very underwhelming, so I decided to give this cute creature an upgrade. Why they call a six-legged animal a spider is beyond me, but luckily nature has something that fits: ant mimic spiders. The sideways fangs would then be modified versions of faux antennae, which are in turn modified legs. It even explains why it almost, but not really, has three body segments rather than two. Front view: Side view: As far as I know, all the parts are easily available via Bricklink. The spider's legs can move sideways and up and down at the base and up and down at the knees and claw tips. The head, pincers and mouth can also move, for a total of 29 points of articulation. Gallery (will add more pictures soon) .lxf file
  2. Location: F03 Forring Tags: Military Building - - Sebastian, if what you tell me is true, the corporations will not stand a chance against the Dust Demons. At last we will have our revenge against Kawashita. - Joining Spider was the best thing that has happened to me. I am free of the ethical restraints of Octan and can test the limits of science. But enough chit-chat. Did you bring me the artifact? - We did. I don't know what you want this thing for, but I hope you kept your part of the bargain. - Of coarse. The exchange is complete. With this I will be able to take my research to the next level. - - I have to warn you, the test specimen must not fall into enemy hands. If they discover what we have done, all of my work will be for nothing. - I understand completely. we will guard him with our lives. Soldier, take the cryotube to our shuttle. - Right away. - - Well it looks like I'm blessed with even more good news. I am surprised though. You are later then expected. - You can blame Monsters of Andromeda for that. - Ugh, a vile holo game owned by the evil Kawashita Corporation! They must pay! - Sorry to cut our meeting short but you are in the presence of MANTIS first branch executive Hawk. He is the one who did this to me. - I have heard about you. It's too bad you don't have more loyal friends in Andromeda. - Yeah I'm starting to think the whole galaxy has been plotting against me. - Ha ha, so very true. So where did we leave off from the last time we met? Oh yeah you were about to take part in one of my state of the art experimental procedures. Don't worry I won't turn you into a Zoid this time. Thanks for looking. The story should be up tomorrow. C&C welcomed as always.
  3. Ahh, the magnificent Lord of Skull Spiders. Many thought he was a rather weak set, sacrificing playability and some aesthetic appeal for fairly boring function. Recently, I've been playing around with system-based action figures, and, after seeing all these skull army creations pop up again, I decided to make my own version of him. I decided to make him more spiderlike, with the face of a jumping spider, the horns of a jewelled spider and of course, all eight legs, two spinnerets and two pedipalps. I made the pedipalps the smaller, female morph because I figured that, if they're too small to even be depicted in the actual set, they shouldn't actually be bulky in my MOC. Features string-shooting stud blaster spinnerets, 41 points of articulation and a stand which is supposed to hold the golden mask of skull spiders, although LDD lacks it. As far as I can tell, he's fully buildable. A better look at the stud shooter spinnerets and back. Ventral view of the big spider and his shiny. Comments and criticism appreciated!
  4. Hi all, This is my creation for the Middle Earth Contest category C. This moc is from the second Hobbit movie (The Desolation of Smaug) and it depicts the scene where Thorin and company are attacked by the Mirkwood spiders in Mirkwood. This is one of my favourite scenes from the movie and therefore I chose to recreate it in Lego. My moc features the tree Bilbo climbed, the old elven path though Mirkwood, one Mirkwood spider and the Mirkwood forest floor. I would love to hear what you think of my moc and any improvement suggestions you may have. Hope you enjoy it. The contest rules it say, "16 x 16 with minimal overhang". Could someone please let me know if my creation's overhang is too far. If so, I'll change it. Thanks. https://www.flickr.c...04/15575444822/ https://www.flickr.c...th/15574570445/
