21306: The Beatles Yellow Submarine (LEGO Ideas)
Robianco replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in LEGO Licensed
Absolute first day purchase for me. Being from Liverpool and a massive Beatles fan my only worry is the Lego shop in Liverpool One might be the trickiest place to buy this from depending on the amount of stock they get in. A 1m tall Apollo 11?! Wow... I think we can safely say that the previous thoughts of Ideas sets being based around a certain price point (£30-£50) are completely out of the window with that one. -
Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

You can also see that the legs are clear decal as the harlequin diamonds curve at the top of the leg instead of following the join. -

If the Joker figure looks like that then I'll be happy... switch out legs to genuine Lego and then change paint a genuine Lego hairpiece. The moulding on that hair looks a little iffy which certainly makes it look like a genuine figure whereas Harley is definitely handpainted... I actually prefer the look of the XInh Harley over that one. -

Those figures are either genuine Lego in the photos or customs but don't seem to be the actual bootleg. Harley looks like she's handprinted especially around the neck area. I wouldn't take the direction of Scarecrow's design on that image to be how the figure will look. -
LEGO Dimensions Physical Brick Discussion
Robianco replied to Transparency for Effect's topic in LEGO Licensed
I can imagine those Adventure Time packs flying off the shelves and not by people who own the game or even a console. I actually thought Ethan Hunt was a Grayson minifig for DC but it's an interesting license for them to have gained access to. Mr T looks great too... Part of me is glad the HP set is just a slight change to Harry but as with COP's comments above I'm hoping for an update of a character that's out of uniform such as Sirius or maybe someone new like Tonks. A slight update to the Gryffindor jumper would have kickstarted my OCD with Hermione, Ron and Neville needing the same jumper. Fingers crossed for Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw at some point... Maybe a Luna in Ravenclaw uniform?- 527 replies

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

That Supes suit actually looks really, really good. I'd be tempted to puck that set up for that torso and legs along. The rest of it looks a bit iffy though. Zod looks more like a War Machine prototype and parts of Bats and Joker aren't very Lego-like at all. It's as if that Supes was designed by someone else entirely. -
SDCC Superheroes Exclusive Minifigures Guessing Game 2016
Robianco replied to Amazing Bricks's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'd say if they were bought at a convention a couple of years ago and didn't cost at least £30 each then it's a bootleg minifig probably from China. There are some very good bootlegs and some very bad ones. I'll PM you with the link to the pad printed figures to not clog the thread up... these ones are on genuine Lego and are very good. -
SDCC Superheroes Exclusive Minifigures Guessing Game 2016
Robianco replied to Amazing Bricks's topic in LEGO Licensed
I hope it's only one of each as there will definitely be exclusives so I'd much prefer it to be just one each of DC and Marvel rather than two. I've bought pad printed customs of a couple of SDCC DC figures so there aren't those gaps in my collection. I'd rather they didn't make them at all but reality is they'll be there. I'd also rather they made them advance figures such as Azog but release them later... That way the package is exclusive but the figure is only exclusive for a while. -

As usual the DC figures are copies of existing custom figures. Scarecrow is the Arkham Knight version and it looks like a copy of the OLS figure Joker is the Dark Knight OLS variant: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lego-custom-DARK-KNIGHT-JOKER-2-INSPIRED-GREEN-VEST-/262376762086 Ivy is the New 52 variant which looks a little like the new Christo figure: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Custom-Lego-Poison-Ivy-New-52-/322133258566 Harley SS is a copy of the OLS figure but he's not listing it at the moment Catwoman is a copy of the old Christo figure that Decool did a couple of years ago. -
I'll take another look at the Smyths in Liverpool if I get a chance tomorrow and let you know. I may not have been looking for one so didn't see it if it was there but I don't recall one being there for a while. I'll let you know.

For me the print on Emma frost isn't an issue at all. I'd change the head on any bootleg anyway so that's easily remedied. Torso print is clean and hopefully the position isn't consistent and I'd change the legs to white hips and light flesh legs. -

I'm hoping there's one of each for Marvel and DC with maybe a figure or two from other themes as they've done for the last couple of years. I'm probably not going to hazard a guess as it's a complete stab in the dark and we'll get to know in around 3-4 weeks anyway. -
...and the financial aspect of setting up a pad print too.

I haven't seen a Tumbler in the wild for a while now. As Cap said above, best best is hoping a store such as Smyths has one in stock somewhere.

That Psylocke is much better than the previously released version. -
Are you US based? You need to find somewhere that offers pad printing services. There are several people that offer that service and are experienced with Lego such as Citizen Brick Or there's Nacm Customs in Europe. It might be cheaper to find a printer closer to you who can offer the service but there might be more trial and error to get things right if they don'y have experience with Lego and can't advise you how best to do it. Pad printing also requires the artwork to be set up as individual colours for the creation of printing plates and doesn't work the same as digital print but I'm assuming you know the print spec on pad printing. Good luck and as I'm always interested in pad printed DC figures I look forward to seeing what you produce.

As long as this wasn't through eBay and they had several sets all sealed for ridiculously low prices then you should be fine.

If they have updated things I'd be tempted to pick up Red Robin to see... I'm still thinking most sellers have just got a stock of things and nothing will have changed. -

I didn't buy them. There's a private Mexican Lego Market group on Facebook and I got accepted into it a little while ago (even though I'm English and don't speak a word of Spanish). They were listed on there and were selling for around £9 each. Once I'd seen the close up pics I knew they were fake so I didn't bother getting them. -

I've had two listings cancelled by Lego's legal team... first time I actually emailed them back and asked why they'd cancelled it when there were many other listings... I didn't realise it was going to a legal representative! The answer was a short one. I've actually just given away a bag of bootleg figures to someone as I can't be bothered trying to list them anywhere. I don't buy anything that's official by Lego and I spend enough on pad printed customs so unless something unique and DC based happens I'll just be looking on with interest. -
I'd always recommend the Arealight Boba Jetpack and the Brickforge EE-3 Carbine for the Fett Upgrade: There's also a Clone Army Customs rangefinder that they do in Chrome or Metallic Silver: http://clonearmycustoms.com/cgi-bin/item.pl?item=29a57537a9cff4ee4330b3f58e974578

That sentry looks like it uses a Legolas head print. If something like that is available and it's relatively cheap, which Legolas is, then it'd be worth upgrading the head and hair to genuine Lego and that would be an excellent fig. Oh why were Pogo still crap when they did New 52 Red Robin?! -

In the middle of this bootleg Marvel bonanza we have a single DC character and a single Image Comics character. -

I got that version through last week along with the Xinh version. They're both in the bin except for the hair from the one above which is well moulded and very close to genuine colour. Xinh is basically orange and only fits the Xinh head which is somehow slightly larger. I've kept the shields from both of them too although the red on them differ (one is dark red and the other is a brighter red).
