Why... how... there's no transparent studs! Good grief, making the purple ones solid was evil enough, but now all of them are!? This is BIONICLE's darkest* hour... how could you LEGO? *if you don't include the Av-Matoran, Hordika, 2005 Titans, 2009/10, or the announcement of the line ending

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
Mandate replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Well, if you don't mind some (relatively minor) spoilers, I can summarize for you why I absolutely hated the build-up and usage of "Elemental Dragons" TL;DR, the Dragons were needless and stupid in Season 4.- 4,591 replies

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread

1) Episodes 20, 21, 22 and 26 all visually feature the Ultra Dragon. It is also mentioned in the Surge, and featured on the cover art of Shadow of Ronin. It's not dead (yet), but it's probably never going to be seen as we last saw it. 2) The Golden Weapons have nothing to do with the dragons, at all. They guarded the Golden Weapons before becoming pets, and the Elemental Dragons (Lloyd's Golden/Green Dragon) are completely separate from any form of elemental weapon because of retcons. 3) This isn't off-topic. Also, 1200th post.- 4,591 replies

No, it's actually transparent. Zoom in on the photo.

The only dark red I can see is at the bow of the ship, on the hull. And that is a shade very far from the chocolate brown of the minifigure. It is not red. As I said before, we have had numerous pictures in different lighting conditions. It is brown. On a side-note, there's two shades of brown on that ship, not one. There isn't even any proof to support the idea that Nya will get powers, let alone water powers! Nya has, always, no matter what, been represented with fire. Both her 2011 card and Samurai X card show her with fire abilities. Lloyd's change in symbols was to represent attaining the title of Ultimate Spinjitzu Master, and Lloyd has been shown with a dragon head as his symbol despite losing his power ever since. Now then, I suppose you give some irrefutable proof that that is Kai and Nya's mother. I will admit I screwed up on the "water is not canon" thing, I hadn't noticed water beaming out of her hands beforehand. Regardless, there is no proof whatsoever that she was Nya's mother. And again, I will say this: why choose brown (or dark red, whatever) to represent water alongside slight usage of dark azure? edit: Also, the books aren't canon. Never have been, never will be.

Only because the writers thought it would be a great idea to But either way, she's now an on-demand app. She's Microsoft's Cortana app now (pun intended). Bring her up when you need to ask her a favor, then close her and forget about her until you next need her. This is getting off-topic, btw.

No, you look very closely at the wisps of flame on both symbols. They are posed in different directions. No, she isn't. Zane is vital to her, not the other way around. She's basically the Falcon now, completely useless and pointless until the plot demands it. We've seen multiple pictures from multiple angles in multiple different lighting settings. It's not dark red. Also, Nya is not the master of Water, either. Water might not even be canon to the TV show universe (yet, anyway. There's a direct quote from Chen regarding the elements, but retcons can always happen). And even if she was, why would she be brown (or as some of you insist, dark red)? Wouldn't light azure be a far better color to communicate the point of water? Brown has nothing to do with regular water anyway.

After directly comparing these sets to the previous '09 ones, I actually like these a lot more, even if they're not quite as inspired. Sorry if anyone has mentioned this before, but has anyone else noticed the usage of clips and bars on particular sides of the sets? According to the instruction manuals, you can combine the sets together, eg Soldier's Fort + Oupost, or Soldier's Fort + Shipwreck defense (not that that would make any sense at all). Sadly they don't look as great together as I'd hoped, but it's a nice function nonetheless.

I never said it wasn't Nya (not in the past few days, anyway). I've already noticed all the things you just said and more.
-
That is not Nya's phoenix emblem. They are similar, but they are very different. The image pictured is the only time we have seen Nya in casual clothing outside the TV show, the kimono styling is closer to the ZX outfits with a mixture of Techno Lloyd. I really hope this doesn't mean Nya suddenly chooses Dareth. Then again, after season 4's ending I don't really care about what they do with the show anymore.

One or two words were in Japanese. You'd need to get the official subtitles to see if it was entirely piglatin or not.- 4,591 replies

One word. PIXAL.

Spoiler tags, people. And yes, it would, but it would also mean Skylor was another Master of Fire.
-
It is. Morro is certainly not Lloyd at this point, either.
-
I'd say Fire, Ice, Jungle or Earth, but I don't have the sets in-hand so I can't tell you which of the four is the best.

Action and Adventure Themes: A History
Mandate replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
But Rock Raiders takes place on not only an alien planet, but in a seperate galaxy to our own (the video you used to refer to it earlier even features the spaceship the Rock Raiders used). I'm not trying to debate you or anything, just that really it's a sci-fi theme even if the core (no pun intended) line never features space in any way. I suppose it doesn't matter anyway. -

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
Mandate replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
As did I. But now... NINJAGO just isn't for me anymore. It's not so much bringing in magic to the story than it is the fact that the main characters use it and that they actually chant the (pig latin) words. And then the whole spirits thing, and people getting cursed to what would be the Ninjago equivalent of hell, I just can't continue to support the franchise. I'll end this the way I started it, by buying an Airjitzu Jay spinner. But after that, I'm done with NINJAGO. Farewell guys. I've had a great time talking to you guys and getting to know you all, but it's time for me to leave.- 4,591 replies

Pretty much well every voiced character that has died (or thought to have been dead) has been brought back to life at some point. Julien, Zane, Pythor, Wu, the Overlord, Captain Soto and his pirates and finally, anyone and everyone that was banished to the Cursed Realm.- 4,591 replies

So, why is Rock Raiders counted as an Action Theme when it actually belongs to Sci-Fi? -

I'm sorry, what? When did I say it needed a complicated story like BIONICLE's? When did anyone say that? You're confusing the words "consistent" and "complicated". What I want to see isn't a complicated story, but one that stays consistent with the pre-established canon. Not a series that jumps on every chance it can to stab the original 3 seasons in the gut with silly and/or ridiculous retcons that never needed to be made. Being a kid's show is no excuse for lazy or stupid writing.- 4,591 replies

That's basically saying: "Oh, it's a children's show, so it's not like the writers should at least make a somewhat consistent timeline"- 4,591 replies

And I just ruined the ending of the season for anyone smart enough to connect spoiler tags and a post about a potential character death

Every single sub-plot in this season went nowhere. "Descendants of Elemental Masters" sub-plot! Went nowhere. Everything is told and not shown, and in the end nothing even led to anything other than a bunch of extra elements and the near-extermination of one element and the introduction to next season.- 4,591 replies
