  1. This thread is for the TV show, but it's basically used for discussing anything that doesn't directly involve the actual sets. Basically, if you ever find anything interesting (and/or relevant to the plot in any form) just post it here.
  2. The problem is, is that Lloyd's story arc has been completed, and now they've made him the "team leader" of sorts even though Kai is the best motivator of all of them. All of the prophecies of the white Green ninja defeating the Overlord have been fulfilled... Why do I get the feeling I'm going to be proven wrong by a retcon that didn't need to be made?
  3. Oh well, opinions are opinions. Lovely job on the MOC, songwm. I hope your customers love it too
  4. Well, Samed5's description seemed to fit the bill well enough. It means there's a flyer for all 5 ninja, plus a generic bad guy. Morro may be possessing Lloyd, which opens up a huge possibility of who Morro might be. The ghosts in general are probably people that died in the Serpentine Wars, or rather, Ronin's troops. Which would make sense as to why he makes an appearance, only he knows how to defeat them. This, the Korean episodes, the red colorscheme of Ronin R.E.X., the pairing of Kai and Ronin in the same set, Ronin being good, and finally, the fact that this is the most Kai-centric vehicle we've gotten all year, is starting to make me think that Ronin may actually be Kai's father. It's not too far fetched, dead people have come back to life and allegiances have changed in NINJAGO. We'll only know when we get through the Anacondrai wave.
  5. Lloyd sacrificed his Golden Power so that everyone on the team (except Nya, Wu, Garmadon, Dareth, Misako, etc) would have their elemental powers back, and to take a huge target off his back. Ironically, the Golden Ninja suit had reticules on it. He's stuck with his Green power now, but you could still easily defeat him if you knew how. These are ghosts, remember? edit: If we're going to shove a random timeline of events in place for the sets, it looks like DB 2.0 comes first. A normal version of Lloyd is in that set.
  6. The brown/azure minifigure is not Nya. It may be Dareth (and that's the closest match), but it's unconfirmed. The color scheme is too far away from anything Nya has ever recieved, brown, azure and gold (for the armor). According to the videos, the Morro ninja want to turn Ninjago into a ghost world. Ronin REX is awesome, Airjitzu spinners are NRG, Morro Dragon actually looks cool now (but there are still massive flaws with it), Wu's dragon is... big-headed, DB 2.0 still has some flaws (wings don't fold into an awesome shape anymore, but at least the set has a mouse and cheese in its attic ).
  7. I'll speak for myself, thanks. They were probably near-finalized models deemed close enough to the end product that they used it for the promo. I didn't notice the Kai thing (and it's 11 PM, so I'm not going to go back and check), but I did notice the ZX hoods.
  8. Even by polybag standards they were awful. The Guy sets, not the awesome Hikaru mini-Mech
  9. The Good Guys and Bad Guys would like to have a word with you. (although for their limitations most of the "Guy" sets were good enough)
  10. Cole is in the Destiny's Bounty as well (he's pictured, at least). I don't really like the look they're going for, but I've only seen them at awkward angles so... Would this count as a close confirmation that the Azure guy is Dareth? (or at least, a look-alike?)
  11. Oh, don't get me wrong, I actually do like the general idea of these. I'm going to pick up the four armed guy just for the trans-green bones. That being said, all of them look like a mess to me with the exception of Ekimu, and he has problems of his own.
  12. It looks awkward, nonetheless. And Tahu was built incorrectly at his display, so there's a chance there's been an error or two.
  13. "These are only prelims, they'll get better!" they said. I'm still laughing at how horrifyingly awful these look
  14. A ton of these Minifigs are randomnly thrown together or are certainly not finalized. Kai and Jay both feature black hair in one set. Or in other words, don't jump to conclusions just yet. Unless I'm mistaken and those are just their hoods, of course. In which case, Azure minifig is Dareth.
  15. ...wow. Originally I hated these sets, but after seeing the promo... they've yanked me back in, if only for how awesome the DB 2.0 looked with its wings like that. Airjitzu is actually cool now (and not just a lame update of an awesome concept like the FvI Speedorz), but they're still inferior to the originals, sadly. Interested at the coupling of Kai and Ronin together, and how he's being portrayed as a good guy. This makes me wonder if the theory of Kai's father being Ronin is true or not, and I'm intrigued about this development. On a sour note, my troll post to Ninjago-Theories regarding this may turn out to be canon after all. New masks look ugly, but I'm willing to wait for better pictures before I judge them fully. There's a bit of discretion between the promo set visuals (which look like the ZX masks) and the actual sets (which look like Rambo mixed with Rebooted). It annoys me to no end that they didn't bother to individualize the hairstyles to their respective ninja. Samed5, are you Curtis Cheung by any chance? edit: Huh? Kai and Jay's hair is black in one set... by any chance are these just the ninja's hoods?
  16. Just you. I'm really interested in the Water element and its capabilities. They're going to need to do some serious explaining about why Fire, Ice, Earth and Lightning are the only important elements... particularly when Light, Shadow, Gravity and Water exist as well. I'm going to be really annoyed if they don't even bother to explain why Speed and Mind are elements too.
  17. Well, that sucks. So much for the possibility of seeing the Villages...
  18. Look, even if they cancel the TV show for the video game, this is in no way a set line based off of a game. Shadow of Ronin is a game based off of a set line, not the other way around.
  19. Probably isn't. That's the wrong time, place (and set-up) to reveal such an immensely important character. Although I understand what you're saying (and I've considered the possibility before), I'm not sure if they really would. It's possible, at the very least.
  20. Oh man, it is Ultra Dragon! I didn't notice the other heads, but they're there! edit: HD picture of the box art There's a blue tint to some of the weapons (lighting effect?). Spinjago looks a little less cool now, but I wouldn't mind getting it if it appears in sets. EDIT 2: They're transparent black. If LEGO finds any way to implement that style of weapon, I won't hesitate to buy any and all sets they appear in.
  21. Oh yeah. Forgot about the Obsidian Weapons. So "airjitzu" is meant to be a substitute for spinjitzu, rather than a replacement. Makes sense. And it means I don't have to respect the Airjitzu spinners plot-wise or set-wise at all
  22. It's clear that he's going to turn his men into Anacondrai at some point, but is that the ultimate goal? Sure, we don't know how powerful the Anacondrai fully are, but a certain army of Nindroids and another army of snake-people might beg to differ. And if he's unleashing the giant snake hidden inside the Anacondrai Temple (the set), can it swim? Willing to debate that. While he's actually capable of killing people, serving an idiot is worse than being said idiot.
  23. Yeah, you've summed up most of the problems I have with the set. Fortunately, it looks like the sails can fold in and out (and then fold downwards, like in the original) which is the last bit of hope I have for it. Ish beautiful. But if these really are the Golden Weapons, doesn't that mean this is a prequel then? edit: Most of those weapons use black in a specific way. Cole's weapon is black right up at the tip (but not on the staff), Jay's nunchucks are limited to black on the chain, and Zane's... sais (so much for Golden Weapons, guess this isn't a prequel, as if the suits didn't give it away) are both melded in a specific way, and Kai's sword is just melded at the tip. Lloyd is using his old suit (sigh). I want a close-up on that dragon, though.
  24. The DB 2.0 wings can also expand and contract.
