  1. Hey, don't worry man. I've made a number of mistakes myself in recreating prelim set designs ;) Edit: Speaking of making mistakes... Gosh darnit, I should have learnt my lesson from the BIONICLE prelims that blurry pics don't have all the little details. Destiny's Bounty is now one of my fave new sets. EDIT 2: Cole is holding the Scythe of Quakes. *please don't be a placeholder please don't be a placeholder*
  2. IMO it's more likely that the spell will backfire and unleash not Anacondrai, but Morro and his merry men
  3. Well, it took me forever to build it because I couldn't find the parts
  4. You've got the fire blade the wrong way around EDIT: The hilt is upside down too. But anyway, thanks, now I don't have to upload anything
  5. Can't give you a photo, Majhost is down, and the MOC's picture is too big for me to upload it directly to EB. The piece that can be used to recreate the sword can be found here.
  6. That was actually an episode description.
  7. If the hilt for the Airjitzu weapons (I'm hoping that's what everyone was talking about, not the handle that the flyer spins off of) is a new part, I'm going to be dissapointed. The entire sword can be easily replicated with the exact same number of parts.
  8. Hmm, good point. Unfortunately, it's still probably not a JP reference, unless the Ultimate Plot Device of Power turns out to be a giant snake embedded in stone. I'll give the Hageman brothers one thing, while the plot holes are many and huge this time around, they've done an excellent job of keeping Chen's plot somewhat secret. Is it to release a group of ancient Anacondrai Warriors into the world? Is it release another giant snake? Is it to turn all of Ninjago into Anacondrai? I mean, come on. There's ouroboros symbols everywhere, there's people turning into snakes, there's a highly successful line of edible products conveniently run by the bad guys in a secret factory. Which one is it?
  9. That's because you're looking at the basics of what NINJAGO is. Ninja VS *enemy* while riding futuristic vehicles with elemental powers. But that's the premise, not the style. NINJAGO's "style", for the past four and a half years, has been Asian Architecture, Western-style dragons, futuristic (but not completely unbelievable, minus the Destiny's Bounty) vehicles and a sense of both age and progression. There's very little of the aforementioned in the Summer sets. Admittedly, Cole's vehicle is slowly growing on me, and Jay's vehicle is so blurry I can't comment on it too much, but simply sharing motifs (or general designs) from previous sets does not equate to sharing the same style. I mean, compare the Destiny's Bounty and it's Final Form (pun intended). The Morro Dragon is indeed a nice set, but the wings and its fake sense of motion really bring it down for me.
  10. It was episode 40. Spoiler tags are [ spoiler ] and [ /spoiler ]. Remove the spaces. EDIT: Pretty good episode. Not the greatest, but it was enjoyable. Minor spoiler: Toxikita's name is Toxikita (or Jay was just nicknaming her after her element)
  11. Not "everyone", basically just me complaining because LEGO ruined my childhood and whatnot.
  12. It belongs in a new line, not a pre-existing one. Admittedly, BIONICLE's prelims are worse... far worse...
  13. Rebooted featured the Asian-style architecture and some very futuristic (but not wholly unrealistic) vehicles. It fit pretty well, IMO.
  14. Well, in around four days we'll know how accurate the prelims were. Given the differences between the DB 2.0's photo and Brickset's report on it, I've got some hope left for it being close to the original (but not much)
  15. Ha, no, you didn't read my post. Let's do some dissection on my post, shall we? When did I ever say the prelims were finalized? Show me. Because what my post was actually implying was that the original prelims were very close to the final design. If I wanted my post to state that these designs wouldn't change, I would have written it so.
  16. LOL, you didn't even read my post XD
  17. Yeah, because the last time we got prelims of BIONICLE (aka, 3 months ago) the sets looked nothing like the final versions. Edit: 1111th post :D
  18. I'm wondering exactly why they've suddenly banished Mechs from the land of have-knees. Like, seriously, this is ridiculously stupid that not a single Mech this year has had knees unless it's a Star Wars set. The only Mech that comes close to having knees is a Creator set, and even then the entire lower limb is its foot at the same time. Look, the problem I have with these sets isn't the sets themselves. Because by themselves, yeah, they're pretty neat. It's because this is NINJAGO that I'm upset. None of this "feels" like NINJAGO. There's no bright colors on the boxes, there's no Asian-inspired vehicles, the dragons are incredibly far from what we've received in the past, and it feels more like Time Cruisers mixed with Monster Hunters.
  19. Ekimu's trans-blue armor looked as if it was attached to the gearbox arms he has. His lower legs look a little weird, but he's easily the winner of the wave.
  20. Ew, Airjitzu. Way to make a bad wave even worse. The Morro Dragon is a curvy, frozen mess. It's a display model that misses the point entirely of its source material. An Asian dragon is meant to be incredibly flexible, like a snake, but this isn't flexible, it's structured like a Western dragon but made to look like an Asian one. It's going to look incredibly odd "in flight", and the wings are fabric sheets. Worst dragon ever, IMO. Wu's dragon just looks far too clean, and the wings look very odd. Cole's bike is so weirdly shaped that I hate it. The Titan Mech battle? Both Mechs are recycled concepts with some minor change. From here and here. My biggest problem is how it looks like there's only one limb and a foot per leg. The DB 2.0 also misses the point. While there being an actual cabin this time is lovely, the brick-built dragon head looks nothing short of atrocious and the Asian style is completely missing.
  21. Is Skull Scorpio meant to be some kind of joke? Like... how... Oh, and Skull Grinder uses Lewa's mask as kneepads. Or at least, it looks like Lewa's mask anyway...
  22. Oh gosh... I don't know what to say. Let me sum up my thoughts in an emote. Final Flight of Destiny's Bounty indeed... I want it to stay that way now I can't quite put my finger on what makes all of these look disgusting to me. The Morro Dragon looks like a badly-designed Asian dragon, the DB 2.0 is a futuristic mess, Cole's bike is designed in the weirdest way possible, the Titan Mech looks incredibly stiff (the Morro Mech is kinda cool, but it's just a ghost version of Garmadon's mech from 2013), Wu's dragon is... well, not good, and Jay's car looks like something out of Time Cruisers. Where is the Asian architectural style? Where are the half-believable vehicles? Why are all the Mech designs recycled from earlier concepts? What a let-down of a final set series (and story arc).
  23. Yep, that's her element. It makes sense, really, that there's more elements/powers than we're aware of Even if we see Elemental Masters bestowing their powers upon others, it still leaves the original plot hole lying around.
  24. Apparently he's an aeronautical engineer as well. I'm willing to bet that's where Boulder Blaster came from...
