  1. I think mine are the same. Did you also take into account of increased heating/cooling costs for higher ceilings eating into the LEGO funds?
  2. To make money like that song lyrics-- I got the bats, you got the bricks, let's make lots of money.
  3. For sharp curves and cars with overhangs, it might better to build a ground level platform that meets up to the tracks. The overhang can go over the platform a bit and there aren't gaps for the LEGO passengers to fall through.
  4. The LEGO Ideas rules allow you share your build instructions. What you can't do is sell them. You MAY NOT SELL ANYTHING related to your Product Idea. You may share photos and building instructions free of charge on your own website and online profiles. However you may not sell building instructions, custom kits, or anything related to your product idea. We will remove product ideas without notice if we learn you are commercializing content submitted to LEGO Ideas.
  5. They're not toys. They are a sophisticated interlocking brick system. I'm in a LUG. We talk LEGO all the time to each other and to the general public at events. You could form your own club if there isn't one nearby.
  6. Congrats on the raise. Those large pieces are for kids crashing trains and quick rebuild after the crash to crash some more.
  7. I haven't seen the pinouts for the color sensor published anywhere. I made a LEGO BOOST train engine using the color sensor. It wasn't all that accurate at an event, although, it worked perfectly in my basement. It might be easier to use a color sensor that already works with the Arduino.
  8. Sweet. Would look good on blue colored G-scale track.
  9. Cool. Same techniques for polishing plastic automotive headlights works on LEGO.
  10. For long trains we may have to lubricate the new wheel sets before each run like railroaders used to do on those old fashioned journals before roller bearing trucks came along. From a production point of view, they do look easier and cheaper to manufacture than the previous generation of bogies.
  11. I didn't have Rock Raider but Power Miners. PM was fun and funny. I recall the designers did several silly YouTube videos for PM back then. Power Miners monsters rocks!
  12. Mainly from Pick A Brick wall and LUGBULK.
  13. Welcome back. Good work on the sheeps.
  14. Looks fun to play. Function over form?
  15. Welcome to Eurobricks, Moritz. Good choice for a first forum to join.
  16. Welcome back, Littleworlds.
  17. Could the Mindstorm servo motor not move the elevator up and down instead of the Power Functions motor?
  18. There is still a lot of 9V in use out there. Michael is trying to fill some of that market's needs. People and LUGs with big investment in 9V do want to be able to keep their ecosystem going as long as possible. RLUGs new into train displays will most likely go with the current available system since those items can be LUGBULK.
  19. Free is good. I love free hardware. It could be a fun project to combine the two like interface the C64 user port to Power Function's IR to control LEGO trains through Commodore BASIC. Now that PF has been superceded by Powered UP. Does that mean PF is now retro-LEGO.
  20. It's cheaper to 3D print the PUP connector and use a PF connector/cable from a burnt out PF motor. (You can salvage quite a few PF cables off PF motors if you've done enough Great Ball Contraptions events.) It's probably not hard to adapt a PUP box to use LiPO cells. Fabricate an adapter that fits inside in place of the AAA battery holder piece or a complete new bottom with a connector for recharging in place. Wasn't there a cargo plane (UPS?) brought down by a shipment of lithium batteries? The last time I flew, I had to had my phone and laptop with me in the passenger compartment. I couldn't put them in checked baggage.
  21. Couldn't olive green be useful for military MOCs?
  22. I think a people mover from terminal to terminal at a large international airport would fit those tracks nicely. It won't be necessary to use the slopes as generally they don't have much inclines (maybe bad for luggage on wheels rolling around). Is that a working Commodore 1702 monitor in the background?
  23. The gap could be filled with clear expoxy embedded with pieces of LEGO (or that Korean clone brand of the brick). It could be fun to have a sorting/building/drinking party and watch the guests try to pick up the embedded piece...
