Pimp my landy
dr_spock replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I need better reading glasss. I thought I saw "Pimp My Lady". Maybe it should say Landrover Defender in the subject title for clarity. -
Your train based IDEA would have to have a bigger "reach" than a UP Big Boy to make it. It is not impossible but require much more effort.

LEGO products still come in a wide range of prices. I think like everything else in life, you buy within your budget. -
Interesting outdoor/indoor fireplace. Are they eating cookies, their own kind?

Depending where you work, you may be able to take a leave of absence to do the 7 weeks of production in LA. If you really want to be on the show, you'll find a way. One of our LUG members was contacted through Instagram too. Having an Instagram account may help.

Now that the Disney Train is 8-Wide, should I build in it?
dr_spock replied to DylANK's topic in LEGO Train Tech
MOD them to 6 wide for a little fun challenge. 6 will work with any layout. I find my wider/longer trains have problems running on the LUG's layout which was built for LEGO 6 wide and car lengths. -
Sweet, always like Star Destroyers. If I keep it MSIB in the box, I'll have to room to display it. Built out of the box, not so much.

Prices of the sets got removed from my local LEGO Catalogue
dr_spock replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Does Romanian law require prices to be printed in the catalogue? Do you have other languages printed in your catalogue? Maybe post some pictures of your catalogue. All the recently catalogues for my country have pricing included. -
Depends on how much effort you want to put into disassembly and reassembly, model size, shape, and strength. We've done big tall models using just the studs on top to hold it together and separate out by logical sections for transport to events. Technic stuff can be pinned together. Plastic wrap can be used to keep things together during transport too. You can also make custom box/case to transport it whole if possible.

I encountered this behaviour too with the 2 hubs and 2 M-motors on different ports.

The rear gate looks like may swing open. Need more close up and detailed shots. -
Sounds like big figs and Star Wars could be a bad combo... Day 002 of 365: Rancor Munchie by dr_spock_888, on Flickr

I wanted to power static Mindstorm builds at shows/events through wall power instead of rechargable AA batteries. I was going to design my own AA battery adapters then I found these on Thingiverse. They came in STL files that can be 3D printed. You only need to print two per Mindstorm unit. They have a nice opening to feed the wires through. AA Battery Eliminator by movotrab: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3160060 I had to make a small notch on the battery cover for the wires to come out. From here you connect to a 9V DC wall adapter.

Technically it can be done. 5GHz components aren't as inexpensive as 2.4GHz components. 5GHz has less range than 2.4GHz. (higher frequency, lesser range). One of the issue with wireless is congestion when there many devices using the same frequencies present like people with cell phones who leave their wifi and bluetooth turned on.
