How many cars can one PF motor actually pull?
dr_spock replied to PaddMadd's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I managed 7 so far with my AEM7-AC engine on level track. The AAA battery box is right on top of the PF train motor. Mind you, HE set has shared Jacob boogies. -

6th Anniversary REVIEW: 31015 Emerald Express
dr_spock replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Great review. I was given one by an awesome member of my LUG. I had to MOD some additions for it since it feels like tiny Emerald Night to me. Emerald Express Additions by dr_spock_888, on Flickr I think these tiny sets make good loot bag items for kid birthday parties. -
Burned out train motors (et al) from club shows
dr_spock replied to zephyr1934's topic in LEGO Train Tech
You could run the idea by the LEGO Community Team. I think an issue might be if your club runs 9V. LEGO no longer makes 9V. PF parts in current production shouldn't be a problem. -
You could make it a Target store in Canada. They had problems with stocking the stores with products when they first opened in Canada. My local Target still doesn't have a good selection of LEGO on clearance.

I turned on my NXT the other day. It went pop and smoke appeared under the LCD panel. I opened her up and found the 2200 uF capacitor looked like it blew out some material. There is a hole around one of the leads. I tried testing it with a multimeter and I don't see the resistance changing over time like the other capacitors. When I turned on the NXT again, the LCD displays random moving lines. Has anyone experienced a similar problem with their NXT? Is it repairable? I have two cats. One of them used the LEGO 1000 bricks tub as a litter box when the lid was left off. That was a lot of brick washing. The other cat likes to run off with my GBC soccer balls.

I concur. You should put in one or two "money shot" photo in your posts to entice people to click on your blog link to see/read more. Posted 17 August 2014 - 08:04 AM I have spent today designing, building and testing my latest Unimog U400 attachment, this is a bin lifter / emptier. Photos and video of this in use can be found on my blog at the link below: http://paulstechnic....bin-lifter.html

trying to use a new motor with the old tracks...
dr_spock replied to ARSLOCK's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Could you link to a video or pictures of how your train is running off the tracks? It might be easier to troubleshoot if we can see what is going on. -
Some sellers will tell you how much more "room" weight you can still add to the order to make better use of the postage. I try to use local stores where I can pick up the order.

Why is Eurobricks banner pink flowers?
dr_spock replied to Kierna's topic in Forum Information and Help
It is 40 deg C here today in this part of Canada. I wouldn't mind sending that over the Germany. I have a Hello Kitty on Brickshelf armed with a submachine gun and APC. And she has pink too. Too bad MegaBlocks has the license. Yup, my niece started school this week in USA. Here we don't start until after Labor Day. -
I prefer the roundabouts. I get off work late at night and there is usually no traffic. I just zip through the roundabouts. Less wear and tear on the brakes unlike stop signs. Also I am not wasting gas waiting for the green light.

PF Battery Box or PF Rechargeable Battery Box
dr_spock replied to legotrainfan's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I think having a heavier battery box over the PF train motor can also help with traction. -
Is he a passenger train or freight train fan? When I was around that age, I prefered passenger trains and convinced grandpa to get me an HO Amtrak set.

1. Don't know exactly when LEGO will retire it. It'll probably show up as retiring soon on S@H Lego.com when that's about to happen. 2. I have two sets. I have one PF train motor. I replaced the technic axle wheel boogies with train wheel boogies which roll with much less friction. 3. I converted one of the diners to a high capacity economy class car.

Presidents’ Conference Committee (PCC) Streetcar MOC

Nice. I used to ride them to get home from school. I would probably do one in Boston's MBTA colors. Your red looks like Toronto's TTC too.- 3 replies
