  1. Thanks. I haven't had a chance to put out the loop of tracks to run it around yet. Thanks. Is there such a thing as a police wagon train?
  2. Great build. Very smooth and clean. What do you print your stickers on?
  3. It looks like this Dutch train. The builder did a good job. It is nice to see people finding creative use for "junior" type pieces instead of complaining about them.
  4. Thanks. 3177 is a great little car to modify.
  5. I tried modding pieces for a MOC. I didn't enjoy it as much, probably because I got ABS dust everywhere from the cutting and filing. I am not against modifying pieces but there should be full disclosure that modified pieces are used.
  6. Tested my GBC for the hospital picnic this weekend. My cat kept running off with the balls that fell out.
  7. Research, sort, plan, sort, acquire parts, sort, build, sort. Rinse and repeat.
  8. Welcome aboard.
  9. Avast, me hearties. It wasn't pirates either on talk like a pirate day. Arr, I was sorting Bionicles parts last night too.
  10. Unimog type vehicles have lots of uses. http://youtu.be/ZL15TnYoCf8
  11. Thanks. How is your 8 wide MPV coming along? I see you like to build MOW equipment too. Thanks. Yes, the equipment car is designed to take PF. The battery box and IR receiver fits inside. You lose the storage space behind the large white doors. There is a 2x2 square hole in the roof for the IR to see the beam. Replace the rear boogie with the PF train motor and you're good to go. Here is a pic of the PF from my 60052 Cargo Train installed in it. IR receiver sits on top of the small storage boxes and the battery box fits in between them. Going to order more PF stuff next month for Double VIP points October.
  12. Thanks. It's fun attaching railroad wheels to trucks and anything else that rolls.
  13. Finished another train MOC.
  14. You mean something like this? http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6132579 Not my creation.
  15. Presenting my Rescue Train Car MOC I made this on suggestion from Lightningtiger that my fire train needed more cars. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=100199 Plus I like unique railroad equipment and am going through a "Train Age" in my LEGO life. zephyr1934 found a nice article on fire & rescue trains: http://wildfiretoday.com/2010/08/24/fighting-fire-with-a-train/ This MOC is based off a Swiss tunnel fire rescue train. The rescue car is used for evacuating passengers and the injured to a safe location while the fire equipment and water cars stay behind to fight the fire. My MOC has room for one minifig on stretcher, 3 sitting and 6 standing. Play features include crane for lifting stretcher, openable doors, drop down ladders/steps, and removeable roof for accessing interior. There is a cabinet to store medical and other supplies. 16. Nice MOD for 33% off.
  17. Here are a couple of my habitat modules that were displayed at BrickWorld this year as part of the giant ToroLUG CMF group build. 18. It depends on what you are controlling and how. I have one speed remote to control several trains. It is not hard changing the remote's channels on the fly. I find it more useful to have more receivers and motors and battery boxes for multiple models.
  19. Thanks. I seem to like odd railroad equipment and trains. One of my fav site is http://www.railpictures.net/ Every now and then something unique shows up that might be fun to interpret into a LEGO toy train (and my local LEGO Store Pick A Brick wall has the pieces).
  20. There is already a LEGO minifig metal detector part: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4479
  21. Thanks for the suggestion. Stay tuned. Not really stretching the truth. The Swiss has a train like it. I didn't build the rescue car. I suppose I should for Lightning Tiger. I've seen one US train that had plastic tanks on flat cars and raised platform with nozzles.
  22. Welcome aboard.
  23. Welcome to EB.
  24. Neat. Does it work with all different brands of toilet paper?
