MOC : BR 93-374 with power-function by ionis41
dr_spock replied to ionis41's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Great job. Welcome to EB. -
You could also try using mirrors to bounce the infrared beam into the tunnels and around obstacles if you need control. Otherwise, the train will just keep going on the last command it recieved from the controller.

Did some laundry and didn't find any LEGO pieces stuffed in the pockets.

There are 3-4 roundabouts in my neighborhood. They are not bad to use in the middle of the night. Some times I can go around and around before exiting.

survey Picture versus Video Reviews

Doesn't seem to work on my iPad. Tapping that navigation bar at the bottom brings up the video player controls instead. -
Why is Eurobricks banner pink flowers?
dr_spock replied to Kierna's topic in Forum Information and Help
To avoid embarrassment, Eurobricks.com can be viewed in private where no one else can see over the shoulders. Bringing an iPad to the washroom, using Google glasses, etc. -

Nice transportation hub. Do you have a YouTube channel? City seems familiar.

Do you always try to have a backlog of sets to build?
dr_spock replied to BirdOPrey5's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Having spare sets is handy should my niece come for a visit. -
I am old school. I run the idea through my head and then realize it in real bricks.
-
It seems to be working for me now.

Hey, you are correct. It is on Online Pick a Brick. How did I miss that? :embarassed:

My 30+ years-old assembled stuff seem to holding up good. There are some discoloration on the whites pieces. The stickers on the newer 8258 crane truck are cracking though.

In addition to garethjellis, there are also these wheels that can make use of the technic axles and can be driven by motors and gears. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=55423c01

PF train motors and PF motors.

Do you mean like this?

It depends on what you like and your budget. If you like European electric trains, then the yellow. If you're a North American diesel railfan, then the blue one. You can also check the parts inventory of both sets to see which one is better for you to use for making your own train MOCs. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?fromForm=Y&itemType=S&itemNo=60052&itemSeq=1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?fromForm=Y&itemType=S&itemNo=7939&itemSeq=1 Still can't decide? Flip a coin.

I would get one of the cargo trains. Personally I bought 60052. It looks pretty good and no flex tracks.

I carefully use my fingernails but they still break from time to time. Some feel very brittle after 30 years. I gave up and use new PF track. I put the old tracks and sleepers away.
-
If you get another 60052, you can use the PF to power your Ghost Train.

Touring an Actual Barquentine: The Peacemaker

Welcome back, Phred. Thanks for the tour. -
I think it was mentioned somewhere that the wheels were custom made on a CNC machine.
-
Awesome. You should have a pic of you next to it just to show how really big it is. I think a child can ride on it. Maybe some flat cars for carrying all your wonderful trucks too.
-
Impressive to see it go around those curves.
