  1. So that could be why Technics is one of the top performing themes in LEGO's 1st half results: https://brickset.com/article/53604/the-lego-group-delivers-double-digit-growth-during-1h-2020
  2. What class laser device is that?
  3. Still building...our LUG has a daily build challenge.
  4. Was there a giant green queasy Unikitty at that event in Barrie? If yes, you probably met some of us too. The Hidden Side train set may be good for some parts but it has the new all plastic train wheels which could have more rolling resistance friction on very long trains.
  5. Welcome aboard. Are you in Barrie, Ontario? If you're looking for a LUG, there is ToroLUG.ca in Toronto. We have a bunch of train fans in our group. Closer to you, there is BrickAwesome fan club in Alliston. They are more a family/kids oriented club than an adult LEGO User Group.
  6. The PF motor is wired to the two middle wires of the cable. C1/C2.
  7. PF runs at 9V. You could probably run them at 12V. Excess voltage/lheat may not be good for the motor windings in the long run. ESP32 is a 3.3V device if I am not mistaken. You'll have to do 3.3V/5V translation for your 5V sensors and motor drivers. The HC05 is a 3.3V device if I recall, you could probbably run it with a simple voltage divider between it and the Arduino.
  8. I think you'll have to gear down that 12V motor to get enough torque to move the locomotive. Grab some Technic gears and make a transmission.
  9. I use 1.2V rechargeables or 9V AC/DC wall adapters for stationary MOCs. In an emergency, I'll use alkalines.
  10. You could make a PU to PF adapter. You'd fake the PF motors as dumb PU motors using the PU ID pins 5 & 6.
  11. Depends if LEGO licenses the PU port to other parties to use in their products.
  12. Link to the official LEGO IR Protocol document -> link If your phone doesn't have IR, you can make a BT to IR interface. My Commodore VIC20 still works although it is hard to find a new TV with composite inputs these days.
  13. It should. It has the same length as a 1x9L technic beam. You won't be able to connect the center blind driver to it though.
  14. Thanks for the review. Too bad you couldn't get the beta app work. That's one of the annoying things I find with relying on software to make things work and you don't have the source code to fix problems yourself.
  15. The ideal would be able to handle any LEGO parts thrown at it from the smallest 1x1 to the largest boat hull and also put into your personal storage system for you.
  16. But they called it an Amfleet II instead of I.
  17. Neat. There are folks who are doing LEGO on G-scale track. Would custom designing and 3D printing LEGO to Lionel engine mounts be a possible option?
  18. It is $1225, was $1399.99 as listed on the website with an SKU 1225 too.
  19. Is the EU taxes a new feature? It seems like the US sales taxes option was there before TLG. https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2467 Sales tax rates are set by the government of your country, region, state, city, etc.
  20. Your engine's rear coupler looks like it is at its limits. IMG_2595 by Bill battles, on Flickr
  21. Does your HP engine derail at a slower speed?
  22. Retailers can sell stock currently in their possession. They won't be able to re-stock. Brick Fanatics said 1642 were shipped out.
