Thanks for sharing. It is nice seeing the trains go around those large sweeping curves at speed. Funny, kids tried to put airplanes on the track. Any derailments?

Help me train expert people (power motors)

Does the battery box LED light up green when you press the green button and nothing is connected to it? Are you using good AAA batteries? I assume the Helicarrier uses the AAA battery box like this one? -

Advice on displaying a layout at a local train show

Congrats on your first show. I use those 2x2 jumper too. Great for holding a minifig to the street and various street lights, trash cans, etc. -

Pneumatic cranes question
dr_spock replied to DarkShadow73's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You have an air leak somewhere. You could dunk the model in water and see if any air bubbles come out. Or swap parts until the boom stops dropping overnight. One reason to use LAs for display cranes. -

Godzilla (1998 version). It was god-awful. It started out pretty good but then went down hill from there. The giant lizard lacked the spirit and any resemblance of the real Godzilla. It just ran around and roared at the main characters like a T-rex instead of using its fiery bad breath advantage to stop them. Even my CMF habitat MOC did more nuclear cooking than this excuse of a Godzilla movie. lizard man habitat by dr_spock_888, on Flickr

NXT Automatic Parking Garage
dr_spock replied to DrJB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I've seen condos where you drive in the car, get out, scan your apartment tag and it automatically parks for you. It can cram in more cars in the available space than a regular parking lot. LEGO uses something similar for their storage of their bins and bins of parts. Now if someone can do one for home sorting. And maybe tie into LDD part list or set inventory and have it deliver the needed pieces to your building work area. -
From the FAQ: LEGO Ideas: If you have a great MOC, that is also a LEGO Ideas project, you may present it on EB as you would any MOC, with a single link to the Ideas entry. Make the title about the MOC, not the Ideas business; don't be too shouty, and it is likely to be tolerated. You need to be thinking: 'I want people on EB to see my MOC and comment on it. If they like it, perhaps they'll support it on LEGO Ideas', rather than: 'I want Ideas support! If I post it on EB, perhaps more people will vote!.

Thanks for the review. I guess we can pretend the chef's hat hides the ears due to food safety regulations.

Nice work. Looks like you still have your fingers too.

Conventional Fire Station and Ladder Truck
dr_spock replied to PlayerfromTaiwan's topic in LEGO Town
Nice building. Looks like the fire fighters have nice apartments. Do you have photos of the fire engines in focus? It's hard to make out the fine details with the shallow depth of field focus.- 13 replies

That is one way to clear your head of bad mood or thoughts.

If it is going to be train engine maintenance depot, you could make it into an overhead gantry crane. You can also have the crane be able to move outside of the building to pick up heavy parts and bring inside by extending the runway beams to the outside.

Medium azure might be another option for Maersk blue. The new Maersk Triple-E container ship set uses medium azure for the blue parts. I guess either LEGO doesn't want to produce the Maersk blue any more or the Maersk company changed their corporate shade of blue since 2011.

Why are there less reviews than before on Eurobricks?
dr_spock replied to kinggregus's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sometimes it may be necessary to use the couch or sofa due to size of the LEGO model. Tossing a white comforter with little holes over it may or may not help. (I guess it matches the technic pin holes.) ship_wip3 by dr_spock_888, on Flickr -
