Technic General Discussion
dr_spock replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hmm, this is interesting with the design of the Liebherr LTM 1300/6.2 crane. I wonder if Liebherr copied LEGO Technic's usage of a single motor to drive multiple functions through a clutch mechanism and drive shafts through the turntable. -

New to 9v trains... or trains for that matter
dr_spock replied to Hobbythom's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Maintaining 9V is not much different than maintaining scale model trains and tracks. You may have to clean the tracks and wheels and contacts from time to time if they get too dirty or oxidized to conduct electricity smoothly. It's not too bad, following a circuit is kind of like following train tracks. -
Thank you for the Google image links. I like seeing different railway equipment from other countries. For some reasons, the original link in Russian to Google.ru has more images of the crane than the English version or the Dutch Google.nl version. The crane looks like a little tower crane like the type you see constructing tall buildings.

Welcome to Eurobricks. I wasn't speeding... EB is not designed to be a picture hosting site. You can upload your pics to a photo sharing site like Flickr and deeplink them back to your posts here. There is a tutorial on how to do that with Flickr: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=97921

I like to avoid trucks. I used to drive one and they have big blindspots around them. My patch blew. I ended up buying a new inner tube. This one came with puncture sealant in the tube.

Patched the big fat hole in my tire tube. Ouch, did your dad get you a new one?

Fabulous build. Lots of great details and parts usage. I am not sure how safe it is for the students after out drinking, having to go pass tracks to get to their rooms.

Most impressive. Great job.

Thanks. So far I have good results at home with reed switches. I guess I won't know for sure until I try them at an event. Then they'll probably be all wonky like with my GBC machine when it leaves the house SPAM is good ham. Thanks, I'll have to check out your code. Something like this? I like the idea of using it to send commands too. That can be useful inside tunnels.

Welcome aboard. How big is your army?

Cool. Do you have any information on the DGKu? There doesn't seem to be much published about the unique crane car. Don't know why someone would replace the overhead crane with a knuckle boom crane.
