Train storage systems? How do you store or display your spares?
dr_spock replied to Adamskii's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I needed to put some trains away. I modified cardboard box to hold trains. I glued down 1.5" strips to keep the trains spaced apart so stuff like hand rails don't get knocked off. -
Welcome aboard, LeeB. Stay out of trouble as my Mom would say.

[MOC] 8 Wide Train cars (Intermodal, Box, Flat)

Good looking rolling stock. You'll have to make a powerful locomotive. (Those Technic wheels and axles have a lot of rolling friction.) -
Nice yard. Interesting to see a cable system. I think they use that for a Swiss different track gauge transfer yard.

There is supposed to be a Friend Party train. Might be an opportunity to make a real bar car.

How many questions can one ask?

I recall the verification email coming in quickly when I registered on Brickshelf. I wonder if your email problems with LEGO.com order confirmations is also at play here.

I would be interested in party train. If they follow train standards, it shouldn't be too hard to convert to 9V. Had I known about Party Train I wouldn't have made my own Friends Cargo Train this spring. Friends Cargo Train by dr_spock_888, on Flickr

After a month, I received the HC-05 Bluetooth module in the mail. Time for a quick test, I connected it to my Arduino. I installed free Roboremo on my Android phone and setup some button controls. I paired the two Bluetooth devices and it is touch screen train fun. I think it probably makes more sense to do this for 9V trains so you don't have to be tied to the 9V train controller.

Great job recreating the narrow gauge railway in LEGO. Interesting techniques. No Grand Canyon but isn't there a children run railway in Hungary too?

Interesting build. Was it stressful creating it?

One thing is to check is the email address provided to LEGO.com is correct. Do you get other LEGO communications like VIP emails about special deals and news on that email address? Check your email spam filters to make sure they are not filtering out LEGO.com.

Moc builders vs Collectors, Lego civil war!
dr_spock replied to PaddyBricksplitter's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There is fun in collecting. It doesn't have to be a big expensive sets. I have a few old small sets sealed in the box. It is kind of nice to hold the box, look at the old school pictures, shake and sniff the box. I think there is a difference in collecting for the joy of it versus hoarding sets for speculation purposes. -
Yes, a standard 2L Technic pin is used to connect the two pieces together. They are the same size 2x4 size. One sits on top of the other. http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=2780&idColor=11#T=C&C=11
