  1. Thanks everyone for your nice feedback. I have just completed the building instructions. You can download the PDF instructions through my website (linked below). There is also a link to the LDD file in case you would rather swap out the colors, and lastly I also created a Rebrickable page for it, for easy parts list viewing. https://humblebricks.com/other
  2. As much as I would like to think otherwise, it bothers me that this set is being released as close to the 40th anniversary of the first Star Wars film. Even if they are planning on something more appropriate and from the first film, I wonder if production delays or some other ulterior motive for the release of the *cough* MF *cough* prompted them to swap the release dates of the two UCS sets this year. Is this set close to technic fig scale? It would have been nice bringing them back in some orange jumpsuits and whatnot.
  3. Very nice. Always fun to see everyone's take on this iconic beast. I think knee articulation is not crucial as this heavy beast will be in a static pose. I am just starting to gather parts and playing around with building a UCS (minifigure scaled) AT-AT at the moment. I have built the feet and moving my way up. If you haven't checked out Jhae's and Mark B.'s AT-ATs, below are links to their Flickr pages. I have seen both of theirs at Legoland California Star Wars Days event that I participate in. Mark has been building them for a decade and Jhae brought his first one to an event last year. Both have rebuilt theirs since and now have a full interior, so worth checking out their photo stream. Below are links to their AT-AT albums, but they have additional photos not linked to those albums worth checking out, so browse their photo stream as well. https://www.flickr.com/photos/jhaelego/albums/72157660261281997 https://www.flickr.com/photos/23575410@N05/albums/72157625467376238 Miro
  4. Excellent build and nice to see other's take on what is already a highly refined model. I like the worn look you managed to incorporate. Miro
  5. I really appreciate not using the ball joints in order to get a more accurate look. The triceratops turned out great. That tongue is a nice touch too, which reminded me of the slimy tongue that the sick Triceratops had in the first Jurassic Park movie. Perhaps a scene of Ellie and Alan along with a park ranger tending to this sick dino. Don't forget the dino dropping. :) Miro
  6. This is a great thread. I was visiting the Brickvault Youtube channel guys today and I saw that Charles has designed an AT-AT at this scale and I really like the feet/ankles in particular. There is an LDD file in the updates section. Linked below. I will join in building a fusion version soon. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/129100/updates Miro
  7. Looks like I'll need to upgrade my mini AT-ATs. I have built 3 from the "Build Your Own Galaxy" book I got 3 years ago. See image below. I am really liking the brickuilt body panels over the plate panels I have on mine. The detailing is much better and hopefully the leg connections will be stronger then the ones I have. I look forward to building them. Miro
  8. Beautifully done. The Y-wing is my favorite one as well. I'll have to add it to my list of ships to build. The instructions for this model is through Repubrick website. Does anyone know how to download them using a Mac computer? It appears that the download requires some .EXE setup file that only works on Windows OS. Miro
  9. Thanks all. I have finally finished the scene and it will be on display at Bricks LA convention on January 28-29, 2017. If you are in the area and plan on going, stop by and say hi. Here are some pictures of the build, with my first LED illumination. 10. I'll have instructions available soon. Thanks all. Just one more addition, a bear cub in Spring time in a meadow. Bear cub by Miro Dudas, on Flickr Miro
  11. Thanks all. Here is the final Leia and R2-D2 model. Both are now on Rebrickable. Leia instructions are free, so feel free to download and build one. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/Miro/princess-leia Here are some render images. Build your own Leia & R2-D2 by Miro Dudas, on Flickr Miro
  12. Thank you both. I have taken some more garage studio photos this morning. Here is a tribute photo of Leia and R2-D2. There are more images of them both in my Star Wars Brickbuilt Figures album (linked in the description). Leia + R2-D2 = BFF by Miro Dudas, on Flickr Miro
  13. Thanks all. Here is a follow up to this tribute. I added more articulation to Leia at her waist, neck and shoulders. I also built R2-D2 with retractable 3rd leg, rotating head and pivoting shoulders. Wish I could have added a light brick, but no room for that. I will take more photos and poses when it's gets brighter as I rely on natural light. The scene below is the famous scene of Leia giving R2-D2 the disc with the stolen plans to take to Obi-wan Kenobi, after recording her message. I added an orange glow with my salt block lamp. I might eventually build a surrounding scene from the corridor of the Tontine IV ship from this scene. A New Hope by Miro Dudas, on Flickr Miro
  14. It's been a while since I built a Leia figure and with the sad news of her passion late in 2016, I decided to build a figure of her iconic "A New Hope" princess figure with her 2 buns, white dress and wielding a blaster as a tribute. The head was the trickiest part. I was highly inspired by the cuteness of Luc Byard's brickbuilt Leia, but I didn't want her head to be as big or cartoony. Hope you like it. I will build some more characters at this scale as they are not as part count demanding. Couple pictures below and few additional ones on my Flickr account. R.I.P. 15. Thank you, much appreciated from a Train moderator. Here is the Rebrickable page for it, for those wanting the LDD file and parts list. I have updated it since the last post, to keep the corner panel portions in check. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/Miro/4-way-train-crossing Train Track Crossover Ver2c Crossing only - Updated by Miro Dudas, on Flickr Miro
  16. I am sure this has been done in various variations over the years after Lego ceased production of train track crossing (last produced in 1999 for 9v tracks). I only have PF train tracks so I made my own version. Below is a Bluerender rendered version I put together in LDD and below that are actual brick built. Note that the track requires to be raised as a result, by a brick, or at least 2 plates. Update: Here is the updated crossing only image that has a center tiled section to help with 2878c01 train wheels which have a narrower wheel spacing. 17. Just tried it on my Mac (OS ver 10.10.5) running a 2009 iMac Pro and so far it's working using this command: java -Djava.library.path=native -jar ./bin/blueprint.jar Is the heading statement "Blueprint v000222 - Crashing on Mac too!" just a warning disclaimer? I'll follow up if things are buggy, crash or I get stuck on things. Miro
  18. One of the best interior decorating designs that I have ever seen. Very inspired by this. Something I am trying to get better at. Thank you for sharing. Miro
  19. Hi Brian, Nice to see you on this site. Have you tried asking on the Facebook's Lego Train Fan Club page? They are quick to respond. FYI, you must become a member to post. https://www.facebook.com/groups/18854918656/ Miro
  20. I love the interior just as much as the exterior. I like the owls and droid heads on the exterior. I have quite a few of the droid heads from a draft our LUG group did.The openings on the inside between the two levels and the skylights are a great idea and it gives it that grand museum feeling. Lots of nice details all over. This would make for such a lovely modular addition to anyone's modular town layout and certainly worthy of being a modular set. The only thing I could see Lego changing on it are some other color highlights on the exterior, as their modulars tend to be more colorful than in real life.
  21. Have not had a chance to fix the raccoon, but I did build a little fox pup instead. Hunting Lesson by Miro Dudas, on Flickr Miro
  22. Thank you. I agree with you. I ran out of dark brown bricks, and I wanted to add some context/story to the scene. It will be fixed soon. It bothers me quite a bit too. Miro
  23. Thank you for enjoying this series. Here is one more, a raccoon with a pinecone. Raccoon by Miro Dudas, on Flickr Miro
  24. One more woodland animal sculpture to join the fox. It's another mammal from the canidae family, a wolf calling out to others. Miro Call of the Wild by Miro Dudas, on Flickr
