Powering train engine through cars with CV joints?
Alasdair Ryan replied to redeemed's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I never said you did.... I am sure it works well,I am only suggesting a possible solution to what he asked above regarding using a buggy motor to power his train. -
Welcome to Eurobricks Batgirl,I hope you have a fun time.

Powering train engine through cars with CV joints?
Alasdair Ryan replied to redeemed's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I am no train expert, but I am a technic noob..... I would not use a cv joint to power the main engine from the tender, but you could power the tender using a buggy motor,If you mount the buggy motor upside down it will take up a lot less space. You could also make a simple gearbox so you get two different power outputs. As you say you could use train weights and the battery box (if it fits) to weight down the loco inside the boiler. -
This is going to great if you manage to turn the Ederald Night into the Flying Scotsman,I wish I could have a ride on the real thing some day. I have not got into the lego trains yet,but If I did I would defiantly try to make a lego flying Scotsman.... Good luck.

Yeb it looks a bit better now. Now for the middle part of the chassis,I would build a 'box' around both the gearbox and battery box. After that you should be able to join all three modules easily. -
Bad news guys....that is not going to work,it jams the diff completely.

Ok so I just stuck a rubber band on it..... It work's the same as Piterx's,it has two small rubber connectors which grip the white wheel hub, which allows power to go through. The white rubber band keeps it connected. Disconnection is done by turning the gray axle. Instruction's can be made on request.

I would change those wheels for something a bit better.... I look forward to the rest of the chassis. -
Great city Melbs. I would of had the rail track going behind the beach/seafront,to make it that more realistic.

Your excavator looks good so far. What manufacture are you basing it on? -

Aw man I love the Vac train. Two quick questions: Do the blue brushes rotate when the train is moving? Does the vacuum suck up any dust or crumbs on the actual metal part of the track? -
Bad news it seams like Brickshelf is down again, hopefully they can get it back up and running soon. Is any one else having difficultly reaching the site?

How the heck did you mange to motorize the wheels by mistake? You must of screwed up big time....... -
Very impressive fortress, with great attention to detail. I look forward to you expanding the fort more underground. On a side note I would change that brown flag pole as it looks like a missile with a flag stuck on top.

Can you not delete them and then re-add them to the map?

Wouldn't a "Like" button improve the forum

I will agree with my fellow Scot,as a moc'er my self I would rather see verbal comments and criticisms rather than a thumbs up/down smiley. I can see something like this getting abused very quickly.
