  1. Good question, if they have some different colors in the shop, I might buy some to try. I bought a Canon IXUS 850. It's very small and has a wide angle. Easy to take with me on a business trip.
  2. This set looks VERY good on the outside and is on minifig scale. But like all the UCS sets, there are almost no details on the inside of the ship. And it is so big that I will have to buy a bigger house :-) . Still, I might buy one if I can find a place to put it...
  3. Indeed, I was thinking of a more traditional color. But I think it will be more difficult to find a rope with the correct diameter. My grandfather used to be a tailer (died already many years ago), so today I visited my grandmother an found some useful stuff. The one on the right is useful, but the real Lego rope still has 2x this diameter. This week I'm going to visit a real "tailor-shop" to ask what they have. Btw, I finally have my new camera, so from now on no more crappy pictures from me.
  4. I've removed all cannons from the accessories-section since they are now completely covered by Mr. Phred in the Index: MOC cannons.
  5. Even if rope could be bought at BL, it won't be usable for most of the ships we build because they are much bigger than the official Lego ships. This is a very interesting topic for me because I have to start looking for some good rope for my ship. Ideal solution would be to find an online shop for model-ships or something alike were they sell some rope that looks very close to the official Lego rope. My plan was to visit a big model shop in Antwerp to ask them if they have rope. But a more general question: Is it a good idea to buy "black" rope like the one from Lego? I have never seen a real ship with "black" rope...
  6. Pearl Jam - I am mine. Great song from my youth :-)
  7. Well, the pictures are of an extremely high quality. I guess they are taken with that superb Canon EOS 400D camera of yours! The colors combine very well and the overall look is as it should be. My favorite part is the yellow lamp. I don't think it is very sea-worthy with these big catapults, but I guess you are not playing with it when you are sitting in your bath, so thats not really an issue :-D . One suggestion: when you use 2 mini-figs in a MOC it seems best to give them a different face. Or maybe the are twins?
  8. A question out of curiosity, is this moving to the "Bad Kids" automated (after posting short 10 posts) or is manual action required by an admin? The raft is still not in one of the indexes. I would like to put it in the Index:Land based MOCS --> vignettes. But it is not really land-based and it is also not a ship...
  9. Now that you are talking about the "count rank". The logo of a citizen is a "small black star". A knight has a beautiful "blue star". Then I would expect the count to have a "red star" or something alike, but certainly not again a black one. Just something that's been on my mind...
  10. That's really funny, I'm just "making" a queen myself :-D Maybe a stupid question, but is that queen torso custom made or an authenic Lego torso?
  11. If that's the translation, then who are we to question the builder. I've added it in the non-militare section.
  12. I like it Mr. oDDerFisken. It's small but great in its own way. This proves that big is not always better. It also looks good on the interior. However, I would have used that picture with the nice background. Mmmm, shall I put this with the "harbors" or "military" in the Index: Land Based MOCs?
  13. The capstan is the thing that was used to lift the anchor? Was it custom to have more than 1 of these on the average ship? Or did most sailing ships have 2 anchors and they both needed a capstan?
  14. Your ship is looking better and better... Seems like it will have a great deal of details and thats what I like most. You are right not to put a deadline for completion. Deadlines are something of the real world ;-)
  15. Thanks for helping me Mr. Z and for the nice manual! I will order some of these on bricklink. The sails look very good. I also prefer the second picture.
  16. Thats a great MOC you found! These Harry Potter sets/MOCs are very useful as medieval buildings.
  17. Did you already start building that 'perfect' city? Or started buying the new city sets? I'm not Dutch, but Belgian so we should speak the same language. Welcome and enjoy!
  18. I wish you a very Happy Birthday!
  19. Can you tell me what that part is Mr. Z? Ideal would be the link to bricklink.... I'm building the masts of the Excalibur (soon to get a French name) and this seems like a handy part. BTW, did you vote already?
  20. I never heard anything about the pirate forum abusing EB. I'm not pretending to know what the wishes of the community are. Thats why I started this poll. Thats up to you to decide... Who are you referring to when you write "your megalomania"? Me??????? Same question, are you referring to me??? I'm no admin or moderator so can't take any decisions. If you pretend to know the wishes of the "community" so well, why don't you just start a separate forum! You have expressed your opinion, thanks for that.
  21. Wooow, that's really a masterpiece!
  22. Sad indeed, I'm using these "normal" faces a lot for my armies. I hope Lego doesn't stop producing them.
  23. Those weapons look really good. I plan on buying a "weapons packs".
  24. Seems like you're making good progress. Don't forget to take some pictures from time to time ;-)
