  1. Wow, you used real snow to take these pics. Looking great (almost real)! Excellent pictures.
  2. You're Portuguese ImperialScouts?
  3. Needless to say that I'm also hoping that the pirate theme returns!
  4. I've resized one just for you Mr. Phes. Can someone with the right powers add it to the first post?
  5. There is also a nice islander MOC in the BS-folder:
  6. Thanks Mr. Phes! I'm using the Comic Sans font for the tutorial-part, but my screen is only at 1280x1024. I suggest you adjust it in the 2 index-threads to a font and/or size that looks good on your screen.
  7. Lets say we divide the MOCs like this: - Military - Non-Military - Islands - Vignettes/dioramas - Small accessories (canons and stuff like that). Where would we put a harbor that has some civilian buildings and a fortess? Maybe it's best to add a separate category for harbors to solve this problem?
  8. Since I was not very happy with the colors of my ship (too much black), I started experimenting. But now I really need another opinion. I quickly added some mast just to get a better view on the hull. Here are 3 pictures with each time a small difference on the front of the ship: This is how the ship looks at this moment: With a narrower black banner in the front: With the black banner in the front removed: Before my experiments with the color-scheme, the ship looked like this:
  9. That's also my favorite picture. Looks like it's taken at sunset. Very nice find.
  10. What's a cabin?
  11. Do you have a picture that shows the back of the ship Mr. Z. ?
  12. Nice ship. But why combine at British navy flag with that French Lego flag?
  13. My only negative remark is the color of the windows at the back of the ship. Red would be a better choice (panes can remain white).
  14. Very nice indeed. It seems like a smaller version of this MOC: http://carneycastle.com/Belem/index.htm (scroll down the page to see the Lego version).
  15. I had never even seen this torso before. I guess prices will be going up now... In which set was it?
  16. There are only 2 panes in the side windows and they are not turned on the side. Only conclusion is that they are not real Lego. I have also never seen these masts. They must also be fake. I guess this ship is a mix of real Lego and fake Lego.
  17. Not yet, I first want to get the hull finished completely. I just ordered some parts on bricklink because the other side of the ship is still unfinished.
  18. Here are some more pics to give an impression of the current state of the ship: Maybe I have my new camera next week so I can take better pictures.
  19. Today I continued the construction of the Excalibur. I mainly worked on the stern and front of the ship because I was not happy with how they looked. Here are some update pictures (sorry for the quality):
  20. Have replied in the landbased mocs ;-)
  21. A thumbnail can only be a link to 1 place, so I have linked them to the BS library. Another reason is that every MOC is only in 1 brickshelf-library but is often discussed and mentioned in multiple threads on the forum. That's why I have added the "search tutorial" in case you want to read feedback, discuss or check if there is already a separate thread for a particular MOC. I agree that it would be good to have to ship/sea vignettes and ships accessories in the ship-index (same for the landbased-index). We can do it in the same way as the MLCad designs.
  22. Sound good to me. That would be my suggestion. Too much different "index" threads doesn't seem like a good idea to me. One for ships and another for all the rest (=land based MOCs) should cover all the MOCs in the pirate MOC forum. Otherwise we will also have too much pinned threads which I find not a good idea.
  23. Technically you're right Simon...
  24. Have I ever been wrong? ;-) Are you suggesting we add vignettes, dioramas? I started thinking on a way to catalogue the MOCs: - islands - fortress/harbor/strongholds/towers --> what would be a good name for this categorie? - city/town (more specifically pirate cities and towns). - cannons, anchors/small stuff --> same question... - vignettes/dioramas --> we could add this in a separate section. - ???
  25. I was guessing this was a Russian ship that was captured by the Americans. Afterwards, the Americans misspelled the name. And since Prince Grigori Alexandrovich Potemkin was born in 1739, why can't this ship be named after him?
