It is maybe interesting to note that minifigs from the CMF-line have their hands facing inwards, whereas minifigs in normal sets have their hands facing the right way up.
-
I really think this is great, it almost looks like it is supposed to be part of a movie set, with just the focus on the insides. Now you just have to build the rest of it :)
-
I sadly agree. It is way too big,
-
So after I built the larger scale white/blue defender I figured I had to build a small version to fit the red one. Big brother and the two mini's. All by it self. Now all I have to do is build the real 75025 which is patiently awaiting in my storage room :)

Nice Little MOC. I really like the broken turret :) However I'm missing some of the trench-like feeling that surrounds the rebel base on Hoth. Have you specifically weathered the bricks, or are they just old White bricks? :)
-
Nice B-wing :). It sort of has an "Armored Assault tank and the new Droid gunship" feel to it. I really like the two-glass cockpit - I assume it rotates like the Mandalorian fighter? I could see some change for improvement if you give it bigger wings. It would give it more Tie-fighter-esqe look, and you would have more surface to greeble on to, The smaller wings, gives it a bit of a speeder-look, and not so much inter-stellar space travel. (at least I think so) :) If you look at it with the cockpit facing down, flying left to right, it sort of looks like a non-capital b - that has always been my interpretation of it anyways :)

[MOC/MOD] Self built 75025 Corellian Jedi Defender-class Cruiser
pihlbrick replied to pihlbrick's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I wish I had the time :) A lot of old Space and Castle LEGO gets you a long way :) Thanks, I'm really happy with the way the cockpit is on the slave. Anyways - here are new pics in white/blue colors. Front view Head on Side view Please do C&C :) -
Seriously, that lightsaber welding through the wall is awesome :) thumbs up

One of my favorite pastime activities is eye-ing LEGO sets for a long time, scrolling through the instructions online, and in my mind doing inventory, while thinking "Can I build this set with my current pile of old/loose bricks, without taking any sets apart". This (and my then 3 year old) is what pulled me out of my dark ages. I have previously done the Death Star, a Y-wing, an AT-ST, a themed Slave 1, Anakin's starfigher and the Malevolence. For a long time I have been wanting to buy/build the 75025 Corellian Jedi Defender-class Cruiser, but felt it too pricey, and I didn't think I had the bricks for it, without pulling averything apart. Khatmorg's beautiful MOC found here, got me to rethink the project, so behold. WIP: Structure and hull WIP: sides added Finally built - front view Cockpit open Rear view I don't have nearly enough dark red bricks, so a lot is substituted with normal red bricks. The escape pods are partly from the LEGO City Cargo Terminal set, and even though I hate stickers for MOC-reasons, I actually think the red/white checkers works ok for this set. I'm really happy the way it turned out (even though it is nowhere near as awesome as Khatmorg's version). I have also tried to incorporate LEGO's technic-handle. I get why TLG does this on some sets to increase stability/playability/swooshabilty and so on, but I actually think it's a shame as you limit the play-options you would get with having the set more like Khatmorgs version where there is more room for minifigs. And I will probably be MOD'ing it further away from the LEGO model in the weeks ahead. Upon finalizing the build I found this picture: ...so now I'm pulling everything apart and building it in white/grey/blue instead. (Yay more build time).

That's a large stand for such a small ship. I wonder what would fit in such a thing :)
-
I did this a while back And afterwards bought the bricks to do something similar to the LDD R5D4, but I don't think I took any pictures before it ended up as something else. - it's really hard to match the cone-like shape going round and up smoothly.
-
I agree - The only remotely interestings things are the DeathStar troopers and maybe Grievious' wheel bike.
-
Here is another idea for sails if you want to use LDD (although not all the connector parts seem to be in there). I think the orange wing seems more appropriate as a sail. The mast/pole is from the Chima Chi temple.
-
These are awesome. If the barge was made as an actual set, the sails would be made of fabric like minifig capes. I hope you are working on a rancor pit to put under Jabba's palace :)

[SoNE Ep. II] Fraternizing with a broken empire
pihlbrick replied to pihlbrick's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Ehh it just seems grey, because it very rocky, stoney and almost nighttime - and the suns are having a hard time penetrating all the sand still caught in the air and atmosphere - and I don't have any tan baseplates :)- 11 replies

Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion

I have no problem with extending the deadline (except that it means ep3 will be further away). :) Maybe extend the deadline and subtract 1 XP for late entries - just a suggestion... -
[SoNE Ep. II] Fraternizing with a broken empire

Thank you for all the nice comments. If I'm not able to take new pictures can't we all just forget about the two troopers holding up the wheel - I mean they are cannon fodder after all :)- 11 replies

[SoNE Ep. II] Fraternizing with a broken empire
pihlbrick replied to pihlbrick's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Ahr crap - I only read the minifig rule change halfway through, and understood, that an assembled minifig counted as one. Oh well I have a few days to kill off a few storm troopers :)- 11 replies

The sand storm hit us pretty bad. We were caught out in the open, and with everything full of sand, not much was working. We managed to get a single local speeder cleaned and started. I was send towards a nearby farm we had spotted earlier to see if they would be able to radio for help. In a rocky area on the way I accidently ran in to an imperial FWAT (Four Wheeled Armored Transport). Since I was out of uniform I figured I would approach them, claiming to be a local farmer on the lookout for stranded droids in the storm, instead of risking they would set after me if it looked as though I was avoiding them. They had also been caught out in sand storm, and while trying to head for cover, the FWAT-pilot had hit a large rock formation damaging one of the wheels (Dammit I could just have gotten away clean). Their astromech was almost done with the repairs so luckily their were not interested in my speeder. I pointed them in the direction of my imaginary farm and promised them I would provide them with shelter and food for the night, and sped off, making sure I was well out of their reach before I turned away towards my original destination. Old version here Old version here The Speeder The FWAT - Four Wheeled Armoured Transport Cockpit open Front View Rear View With the hatch open Luckily I had all the three sets (and the extra rebel-set, but I forgot about that when sorting the parts). The only extra parts used are the base plate, the four wheels, the four two storm troopers (maybe the others are hiding inside the FWAT), their astromech and my goggles. (If you want to nit pick, my sigfig is out of uniform, and that could maybe count as extra pieces). It was fun to be somewhat limited in part selection, but I think the actual challenge here is to limit yourself, and not pile the bricks on. just because you haven't used them yet

I really like that the "connectors" between the cockpit and wings aren't nearly as bulky as on the 9492 model by TLG.
-
I agree that the engines stick out a bit, but I think it looks great - sort of Internatiol Space Station-ish and reminds me of the original Ywing design.
-
Ok here goes :) i think it captures the mood from bars in the clone wars quite well. The stairs bother me a bit, it doesn't seem that there is room for a mini fig to use it.

[SoNE Free Build] RZ-2x Experimental Interceptor

Nice use of the electrical engines :). It must make it quite heavy - unless of course they keep falling off :)
