  1. This is the old version of construction crew?
  2. What do most people use for stubborn axles etc.? I was looking at some soft jaw pliers http://www.amazon.co.uk/Silverline-595757-Quick-Adjust-Soft-Pliers/dp/B000LFXBC8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1381270519&sr=8-1&keywords=soft+jaw+pliers But also need something to push axles without damage.
  3. Sometimes LDD will let you work your model and sometimes it goes nuts for no apparent reason, in your case seems fines to me. Video: http://www.flickr.co...08/10161356903/ If the video does not work then its still processing, will be ready 5-10 mins. Back when I was at school my friend almost got his lego contraption off the ground by running 12v though the motor.
  4. That would save a lot of paper and make following and making instructions so much easier, very good idea. The building steps could be read from the file but LDD sometimes does impossible moves, you really appreciate how difficult some things are when you try doing it.
  5. I was thinking a Evil Knieval jump bike with a launcher and a ramp, sticking to the part count should not be too much of a problem, sounds silly I must admit but it might work out if the bike can handle the jump.
  6. Instructions and LDD file ... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=535062
  7. Replace rocks with cushions, cover cars in bubble-wrap, controllers need to be controlled remotely?lol, fingerprint shield and industrial ear plugs EDIT: still waiting for my damn pyramid bolts
  8. X-Ray render, with help from the ldd2povray author.
  9. Martin (the maker of ldd2povray) was very helpful steering me in the right direction. In the converter scene>tick transparent, lights>untick shadows. Add... #declare ldd_filter_alpha_255 = 0.2; #declare ldd_transmit_alpha_255 = 0.5; #declare ldd_outlines = 1; #declare ldd_white_outline_treshold = rgb <0,0,0>; To the beginning of your .pov file, result is ok but needs more work, render time is fast.
  10. Its hard to say until its all together, the light springs might bottom out because they are probably weaker at 45 degrees, the suspension only travels +-10 degrees which is good for the CV joints. Payday tomorrow, so I will be able to order all the 269 parts needed or at least enough to build the chassis, the other 375 parts are in sets 9398 and 8081, which I have. I'm also trying to get pov ray to render the model slightly transparent for quick and easy instructions, very difficult so I emailed the maker of ldd2povray.
  11. Stainless steel lego, maybe when 3d printers can make metal?
  12. What about the rest of the plane?
  13. rebrickable.com, you can upload a personal moc and it gives you a list with pictures and part numbers.
  14. Thats a lot of batteries and whiskey your getting though Defiantly a market for obstacles, why did lego miss this?
  15. The idea is to render a model or parts of a model with everything slightly transparent so you can see everything for quick as easy building instructions. But in povray transparency is not something you can add easily and I've have no success there, making your model into glass would increase rendering times a lot, parts just need to be see-though. I tried emailing the maker of LDD2POVRAY but the contact form keeps giving a error. I did manage to change reflection of a whole model by changing ldd_finishes.inc , reflection { 0.4, 0.5 falloff 1 exponent 1 } is the change. #ifndef(ldd_finish_shinyPlastic_255) #declare ldd_finish_shinyPlastic_255 = finish { ambient ldd_ambient_light_color #if (version>=3.7) emission ldd_ambient_light_color #end diffuse 0.6 brilliance 1 phong 1 phong_size 40 specular 1 roughness 0.02 reflection { 0.4, 0.5 falloff 1 exponent 1 } conserve_energy } #end Results...
  16. Once that bug bites enjoy the ride, great mocs.
  17. Only built the front suspension and steering so far then attached a motor to test, goes about twice as fast as the rock crawler, waiting on parts now. My first attempt to widen the body it looked like a killer whale lol.
  18. Anyone else watched Easy Rider since seeing this? :D
  19. Widened the bodywork so it can attach to the chassis, even looks like a buggy now :)
  20. I can imagine, looking forward to seeing the tryout :)
  21. Its like the parts were designed just for this moc, do lego ever show interest in mocs like these? They should.
  22. Its better to send it to a good home, good vibes you put out comes back to you, if you believe that stuff
  23. I've never seen that model but I remember the control system from old leaflets, animatronics was all the rage back in those days and looks more realistic than most cgi.
  24. Working examples are a good place to start, something you can try and then change stuff to see what happens.
