1nxtmonster used two pairs of Team Losi "1.9 Mini Rock Claw Tire, Blue (2)" on his Lego Technic , and discovered that they were VERY INEXPENSIVE on Amazon.com and fit on the standard Lego 44772 wheel. They normally sell for a lot more on the Team Losi website.

@ 1nxtmonster: Welcome to Eurobricks! I assume that you mean your orange Jeep Willys Rock Crawler (demo on and Building Instructions on ) -- "Doing some crawling and offroading in my Lego Jeep Willys. Features full 4 wheel drive, super flexible linked suspension, steering, RC, powered by two buggy motors and a lipo battery for low weight":

The USA can view the YouTube video (which has Dire Strait's "Money for Nothing" soundtrack) -- you can see what you are missing on Charbel's webpage (in the original French and in this English translation). You can change the "To" translation language on the top of the Translate.Google.com webpage:

Moc Lego Technic Magnets
DLuders replied to Boxerlego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@ Boxerlego: I like your concept, but I don't believe you should be using JB Weld as the adhesive. The reason that your magnets are adversely affected by JB Weld is that the metal particles inside JB Weld is altering the magnetic field. Recommend using regular clear epoxy instead. See Brian Hahn's below -- "This is what happens when a magnet gets near J-B Weld": On the JB Weld website, it says that it is "steel-reinforced epoxy." From this thread, the JB Weld website once said: "How does it work? J-B WELD is packaged in two tubes. One contains liquid steel/epoxy resin, and the other contains hardener. When mixed together in equal portions, a chemical reaction occurs that turns the mixture into a compound as hard and tough as steel -- and with similar properties." -
Over volting RC unit?
DLuders replied to clarkdef's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I would not drill into the RC unit, because you may ruin it and they're rare. I would just use new Alkaline AA batteries to get your full 9V of power, and see how it responds before doing anything permanent to the RC unit. -

Moc 8858 studless remake
DLuders replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice reproduction of the 1994 original 8858 Rebel Wrecker set (from Blakbird's Technicopedia): -
@ The Lego Group: It's ridiculous to have to wait 10 months (August 2012-June 2013) to buy individual PF L-motors and PF Servo Motors that are only available in the 9398 4x4 Crawler set. I realize that the 9398 "The Boss" set will be using those motors, but can't you ramp up production to meet demand? At least tell the AFOLS why they must wait longer, by making a Lego Technic Designers Blog entry or something.

@ fex00: Welcome to Eurobricks! Those Duratrax Bandito SC On-Road C2 Tires that you ordered should fit well on the standard Lego 44772 wheel IF it has a ~1.9" (~48mm) inside diameter. The specificitions only list the outer dimensions: SPECS: Width: 1.74" (41mm) Outer Diameter: 4.00" (101mm)

Large scale Wrecker
DLuders replied to trekman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
When one clicks on the YouTube video above, it says "The video does not exist." However, I surfed YouTube and found it: -
@ dokludi: Nice replica! Are you going to make a YouTube video that shows its functions? I know that you were using your available parts for the replica. The red color scheme looks too much like a fire truck, so I'm glad that the Lego 42008 is being produced in green (to mimic the real O'Hare Towing wreckers on the TV Show, "Wrecked"):

@ cheeze: I am wondering how much weight the boom can lift, since the truss pieces (that came with the Lego City 7632 Crawler Crane set) are connected with Technic Axles in the longitudinal direction. The top chord pieces (formed by many 64448 "Support 1 x 6 x 5 Girder Rectangular" parts) start to pull apart under heavy load:

Land-Rover Defender 110
DLuders replied to Sheepo's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Andrej from Slovenia" sent me an e-mail with these two attachments for Sheepo's Land Rover Defender 110, and he wanted me to make them available for download: PDF "Parts List by Color" PDF "Parts List by Number" He wrote, "Sheepo has published BrickStore part list for his Land Rover. I thought that ''Technic community'' would rather have PDF part list, so I made one. Actually two -- one part list is sorted by colour, and the other one is sorted by part number. But, because I don't have any file sharing account, I would ask you, if you would be so kind, and publish the files, and then post links in Sheepos Land Rover thread." -
@ Theo van Vroenhoven: The easiest process would be to join Rebrickable and then load your 8421, 8265, and 8043 sets into the "My Sets" tab. Then, you could "Search" for the desired set/ MOC and then try to "Build" that set using your existing sets/pieces. Unfortuneatly, the 42009 set has not been released yet so it has not yet been loaded into Rebrickable's database or Bricklink's database. The exact parts needed won't be known until August 2013. The replicas are "good guesses" on the needed parts.

@ W0IF: Your tipper truck looks very "futuristic" and has interesting lines! It is low so maybe it is designed to bring rubble out of mine tunnels....

@ skylinedan: You could follow the Eurobricks "Posting Deeplinked Images from Brickshelf" guidance to post your pictures. You can't expect images hosted on your computer's Hard Drive to directly link here; you have to post them somewhere like Brickshelf, Flickr, or Photobucket first. You could attach a small image to your post, but everyone only gets an allotment of 150k of attachments, so that doesn't go very far.

@ rm8: Those RC4WD Mickey Thompson 1.55 Baja MTZ Scale Tires should fit on the Lego 41896 "Wheel 43.2mm D. x 26mm Technic Racing Small, 3 Pinholes" , but I agree that its 84mm outer diameter is too far off of your target 62-70mm: Specifications: Outer Diameter: 3.30" (84mm) Width: 1.06" (27mm) Inner Diameter: 1.55" (39mm) Advanced X3 Soft & Sticky Compound Reinforced sidewall Each tire weight: 1.3 oz / 37 g The proportions of the RC4WD Dirt Grabber 1.55" All Terrain Tires are closer to what you want, but the tread pattern is not as aggressive: Specifications: Width 24mm / 0.94inch Outer Diameter: 2.99" (76mm) 1.55 Wheel size Each tire weight: 1.15 oz / 33 g I'm not sure whether there are third-party, RC-type OFFROAD tires that can replace the Lego 32019 "Tire 62.4mm D. x 20mm", since offroad tires have big sidewalls to absorb shock. They are also mounted on wheels that have a diameter ~1/2 of tire's overall diameter, to keep the weight down. The Lego tire has a lower sidewall profile than one would typically see on an offroad tire: The Heavy Offroad Truck Tire M 1:16 may meet your needs: Specification: Internal Diameter 40mm Outside Diameter 73mm Width 20mm Tread depth 1 mm Air-filled tires
