RC Stuff in LDD?
DLuders replied to MrNumbskull13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
In LDD Extended Mode, just type in the "Func" (with no quotes) into the parts palette "Search" box at the top-left corner of the LDD screen; both will will pop up. You will have to recolor them to make them appear in their normal Dark Bluish Gray/ Light Bluish Gray colors. -
Steering help
DLuders replied to Lakop's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You didn't say whether you're building a car or truck MOC, or what the scale would be. There was a previous topic that discussed return-to-center steering. The Power Functions Medium motor clips onto the hockey spring. The two yellow gears shown could be replaced by the Lego Clutch Gear. -
Motorised Railgun
DLuders replied to apemax's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I wonder how a 30346c01 "Electric, Light Rock Raiders Laser, Complete Assembly" would look on that railgun.... -

You could pretend that it's got a laser to zap missiles or satellites.... -

8284 Tractor Set
DLuders replied to DarkShadow73's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
On Rebrickable, you can compare the visual Parts List for the 8284-2 Buggy (first picture below) and the 8063 Tractor with Trailer; it should be easy to subtract the parts used for the trailer portion. Download the PDF Building Instructions for both on this Lego Customer Service website. To me, the construction of both is totally different.... -

Videos of Lego Technic CRASHES
DLuders replied to DLuders's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@ Parda: I like how you used your extensive collection of Lego Technic Figures as "crash test dummies" in the video! The "wacky racer" that was constructed with four wheels in a vertical frame seemed to survive the plunge the best! -

I wonder which one of Paul Boratko's Lego Technic MOCs would perform the best in a crash test? -

[bUMP] Abus709 posted this of "4 lego sets [which] are put to the test and are driven into a wall to test how they perform in a crash. The results are recorded in slow motion for your enjoyment and for proper scientific analysis on how a lego car behaves in a crash...." The 8674 Ferrari F1 Racer 1:8 set (built with Lego Technic pieces) did the best:
