  1. It just seemed like you were reporting the set lists over the prices since that was what you announced, I just misread what you said, but still.
  2. I was actually going to do just that, use Batgirls hair, and yes I know Barbara seems to be loved more as Oracle, but I would like to make her as Barbara first, and James Jr. if I could find the right pieces, I'm a bit behind on Batgirl's comics, and just starting to read the "wanted" story arc, Gail Simone is such an amazing writer even out of Birds of Prey. Also, I was planning to make Cassandra in her Batgirl costume, and was initially going to use Batmans cowl. Maybe if Lego released the Zabrak head piece in black, though that wouldn't be too accurate now would it?
  3. Thanks but I think you're a tad late to the party, no worries though, since it's always nice to contribute. http://s407.photobucket.com/user/vicnasty8333/media/img_0993.jpg.html I think I'm the only person here who thinks this looks like a Chima Scorpion walker. The weapon even looks like something from Chima.
  4. I'm assuming 70165 and 70163 are play sets, and I'll be looking forward to them the most.
  5. We saw one mammoth big fig, how is this in any way a form of minifigs going extinct? They won't, new molds for each character is just illogical, that's why all tribes share a mold for a head, that get reused in sets that go into mass distribution.
  6. I wonder how much piece count that Sentinel will take up, the Blackbirds gonna be real small. Wolverine looks nice and I can see the Sentinel getting about 2 more pieces at the legs to make it look bulkier and maybe something on the shoulders. Of course this is just pure speculation and I bet the only thing changing will be some minor details on pieces we already see getting swapped out for others just like how the spider cycle got a few pieces on its front get moved out. I highly doubt we'll be getting Shadow Cat in a set, and I have even more doubts about them putting "Kitty Pride" on the minifigures section. It's just not happening.
  7. Wow, I would've never seen this topic had someone not posted here today. I love all the details of your moc, the lettering is fantastic and though I could point out every little detail, I will say I appreciate them all. I wouldn't attempt to change any of this, the lettering (as mentioned before) is incredible, the balcony has an amazing way of staying slim while still being able to fit multiple minifigures! One thing that bugs me about most mocs is how amazing they are, and how teasing it is that they'll never be made at such high price points! Yours is great and seems like something I could afford (and WOULD buy) Also, in case if you're wondering why some members are walking around with a "Ladies" tag, you qualify for on too (according to your profile) http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2729
  8. I'm sorry to go slightly off topic (though am I really?) but regarding the whole "more sets" discussion, but when the press release was made, or was it the designer video, someone said "probably more sets" can't remember who or where, but it was said. Doesn't that pretty much confirm this is a "Test run"? I hope these sets sell well, I've been watching more and more Simpsons to prepare myself for this set (good marketing strategy, if that's even what they were aiming for) and I have to say that the house does look a bit out of place, but it still seems to be able to pull off a very nice classic look to it.
  9. There are no family run Toy stores near me, only major retailers. I have a TRU about 15 minutes from me, and a Target-Kmart-TRU-Ross shopping center about half an hour of where I live. The closest Lego store is presumably 1 hour (or more, definitely no less) from me. This is why I'm a Lego store virgin. The TRU 2 blocks from me has nothing, seriously. The only thing they've ever come in handy for is CMF's they have a full stock of Series 9, isn't that retired already? I'm a sucker for retired set/series so obviously they're a big hit for me. Also, the TRU 15 minutes from me always has a large selection, but as you all may know, that also includes a large price markup. Target is good for somethings, they occasionally have retired sets, I once spotted a Series 6 bag in 2013, exciting huh? It was one I was looking for too, the Leprechaun. Too bad some idiot opened up the bag as it was ripped when I found it. But TRU seems to make a lot of money from me as I have no local Lego store, and have to resort to paying inflated prices for my sets. I was tell myself - You could've bought another small set with that 10 dollar price up!
  10. autorazr: I don't know, post sample pics maybe? I'm really loving all the contributions to this thread, if I had the 2012 SDCC exclusive Phoenix, I would totally use he hair on a purist Barbara Gordon. Any Cassandra Cain fans around here? I assume she'd be fairly easy to do. Also, can someone please make a Kyle Rayner? I have no idea what hair piece to use on him, I think Anakin's in black should b good.
  11. What else base it off of? A reboot that hasn't been making comics since 2011? The new 52 is their current line of comics, what else to do but advertise it, I mean really, at this point it'd be stupid to put costume designs for characters that haven't appeared in those variants for around 2 years. I say just have some classic designs and then a bit of made up variants, to avoid this type of problem altogether.
  12. My only problem with this is that these are characters I'd like to see in sets, which would give Lego more incentive to keep riding the Batman train. Maybe throw in some D-List characters and Batman variants and Bat-family variants while adding very obscure characters to the mix (but not completely obscure, a character at Vixens popularity would be great) as well as some army builders, and we get good CMF's while maintaining a diverse line of sets.
  13. My 10 cents (because what else could you do with a dime) 2015: Ant Man - Large "buildable" figure of Ant Man, 6 inches and is made of large reusable molds like Hulk (except Hulk isn't completely reusable) Giganta - Despite the fact that I've yet to see her appear in the new 52, she can have the same molds as Ant Man (with the same curve lines printed on as most female figures have) or a brand new large female "curve" mold, and has brick built hair. The hair isn't the greatest idea, but we all know Lego wouldn't put so many new molds in 1 set, which is 1 of the reasons these are unlikely to be made.
  14. I throw it at babies and annoying teenage girls. - Says the liar. I just build, display, and occasionally play. That could be Lego's new slogan, catchy!
  15. ^ Thanks for that, I'm still quite debating over buying it, since my only "want" in that set is a regular rebooted version of Zane.
  16. I would go for the Simpsons house, for too many reasons I'm too lazy to explain, just look at above posts to understand why.
  17. I own that set and love it, goes very well with my X-Wing.
  18. I like the black lines and the eyes look good, the only thing about the figs I don't like is the mouths, They all look like teenage girls making the duck face. Though I doubt they could get black lines across on the legs. I also want to comment that I have no idea why people don't want to buy this set because of the minifigures, they are so easily surpassed in the quality of the house, which makes up for everything really. I'd call it the best Lego set ever, though some fall close. I hope we get more set so that we can have Barts tree house, tree house of horror anybody? Also, sorry for the double post.
  19. It appears we were both wrong, though now I'm confused. In the regular Simpsons thread, CM4S linked to the January Lego calender, which has January 17 stated for an early release of a set (Sea Cow?) and a "preview" of a set to come later on in the year, and that will be available Feb. 17, so does that mean this will get 2 press releases? Lego's Facebook page does say the set will be available on Feb. 17. I wonder what's in stores for VIP's that day.
  20. What a beautiful MOC, you managed to put as much color possible into a building that usually consists of a darker color scheme. I tip my hat off to you and must commend you for the way you build. You use creative builds, SNOT techniques, and the way you find new ways to use existing Lego pieces is amazing! You've also gone the purist way, so I commend you for that as well. I honestly didn't notice that until you mentioned it, I had to search for most of the images on flickr to find that. I just supports my previous saying of him using existing Lego parts in interesting new ways, you've got a keen eye I might say!
  21. Though I won't go out of my way to say that London Toy Fair is irrelevant, I agree with Navy Trooper Fenson that we are more likely to get a better understanding of sets from the New York Toy fair, since it does allow photography.
  22. So it looks like we will be getting a bathroom, and what appears to be a very small shower, the excitement in me is beyond the roof. I also noted that we will be getting a bigger hallway than expected, I can't wait to see brickfilms of this set, get to work people! I look forward to what this set brings and I thank everyone who has posted news for this set, probably the best this line will ever bring!
  23. Maybe the ad came up because they saw the word "Bonaparte" was searched often on this site? Either way, I'm assuming his minifigs are very fashionable.
  24. Surprisingly, Ninjago. I thought the show was "alright" until I saw the Samurai Mech, and fell in love with the theme. I watched the show, and realized the plot had more to it than met the eye, though I still felt I didn't need to buy all the sets (I have very little to this day) since I know I may like the design of a set now, but it'll be dismissed and not "swooshed/played" with, so I only decided to go for the big ones. As some of you may know, this led to my obsession with the Epic Dragon Battle. I was also a big fan of Lotr before the sets came out, but decided to dismiss most of them and decided they would just collect dust until the day I even bothered to remember they were there. Boy do I regret that, but no one has an infinitely large house and an inconsiderable amount of money (well some have that), so I realized I couldn't have everything, and decided to move on from the theme as a whole, but I doubt I'll alienate myself from that theme for much longer.
  25. ^ I'm pretty sure taht's what CM4S's link said, a January 17th early release, and a preview of a February 17th release, maybe I'm just out though
