I'm honestly trying to find something about this post that I disagree with here, but honestly, none. I'm not one to go out of my way to ask for more female characters (though sometimes they are desperately needed) though this I can understand. You see when I was younger, and I didn't agree with others, I wanted to know what I could do differently (I was quite the critical thinker) and mind you I had quite the imagination, but I always went through the various types of people I knew to compare myself to when I was confused. And quite frankly, up until I was 8 I either though everyone was a teacher, an austronaut, or a fire-fighter (and the occasional cop) because that's all I had been exposed to. Forgive me if I am wrong here, but what I think LukeWarmTea is trying to get across is that variety in figures can allow a child to relate or communicate better with their toy and learn to diversify themselves. Of course this was only my childhood and I'm sure there were the lot of you who knew about secretaries and mercenaries and what not, but I'm also sure that you didn't "make them up", they were jobs and positions that were established in your life, because unless you're someone who was born knowing every single job on earth. I guess what I'm trying to say here is, kids learn positions and are not born simply "knowing" them, you have to teach a kid what a fire-fighter is, they don't "just know" you have to teach them what a strong women is, they don't "just know", and if they do, well then you have something else to worry about. Children need to learn what something is, that's why we want them to do something they're experienced at, and what better place for a kid to learn that a woman can do what a man can do, than through their everyday toys?

Can someone re-link to the overlord picture please? All I remember is a funky Chima-looking chair (forgive me, that's how I'll be describing it from now on) and no building, was there such as above posters imply, because if so, I want in.

This is kind of what I meant when I said "they sent themselves up for failure". Releasing "the only mainstream" characters in their mix and then movie variants a year later (if the line continues on to next year, then yeah we would most likely get DCCU sets) then when they do get back to making comic based sets, then they'll just remake what we got these past couple of years. Though I guess I shouldn't be selfish and say I want more system DC sets, I guess if DUPLO takes up slots, then so be it, but at this point I believe it's pretty much confirmed we'll only be getting 1-2 more comic JLU members a year. Time to wait

Well first off, the Star Wars license isn't set to retire until 2022, so don't get your hopes up. I personally, wouldn't care so long as I get the following sets (which are miraculously still around!) * The Gungan Sub *Palpatine's Arrest * Hoth Echo Base * Millennium Falcon And then the entire 2013 summer wave as well as tons of CW retired sets (I have this weird retired fetish thing going on). This is only really because I already have all the "important" sets, I'm not a completion-ist, and only wish to own the sets for minifigures or recreational scenes that have already been provided. Personally, 2014 seems to only be Hero Factory, Ninjago and Chima for me, as well as Lego movie), so Star Wars wouldn't be missed, since I basically already have "the good stuff". But I feel like I can't properly answer this question until December 31st 2022.

You see this is the problem I see so much and probably the reason Lego is going the route they've taken, is because of comments like this. I intend to say this without any offense, but seriously, why can't we have a solo Green Lantern set instead of having him get backed up with Batman? It's not like a solo Green Lantern, Teen Titans, or Superman set wouldn't sell, in fact, they have sold well before in other Toy brands (or so says the internet) I mean if we got a set focused on Superman with the Flash backing him up and so on and so forth we could be on par with how many figures Marvel has at this point. Interesting thing I notices though, you said "I'll take more Batman sets" instead of "I'll take more DC sets, whereas had you, or anyone else, be talking about Marvel, you'd have said (or so says the internet) "I'll take more Marvel sets". You know how I can tell? Because Marvel's collection seems to focus on X-Men (barely) Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers, Spiderman, and Iron Man, you never know what sub-theme will be elaborated on next, whereas in DC people are automatically assuming it's going to be Batman. But I can already tell that in 2015-2016-2017, when we get movie based sets, we'll have a justice league, based off of the movies, they'll be the already released characters (Batman Superman, Wonder Woman Green Lantern [ John Stewart, though], Nightwing and the Flash) and it'll just take even longer for them to make comic-style JL members, and by the time they do get to creating such members, they'll have taken another 3 years to remake the ones we have now. It sort of seems like DC has set themselves up for failure here, and it's comments like this that make me understand why. Maybe if people actually wanted Justice League sets though.... and I regress.

Then why not just release all 4 sets later on? It still sort of seems like an illusion. Marvel's getting 9 system sets and DC's getting 4, holy crap just realized: 5 sets can make up a wave! And there I go raising my hope again, now to get disappointed.

For a moment there I thought you said "Guardians set is shit" I honestly think they're doing that to make it seem like both DC and Marvel are getting 2 waves

Haha I thought the same thing too. But seriously, does anyone else think the overlords vehicle looks like something out of Chima? No sign of Samurai X though, so getting her set will be a big priority now.
-
You know what, I was going to make a joke about that in my comment, but eh, all's well that ends well.

At least I still don't find it that likely, but you're welcome to dream, we all are.

Well they teased great variants for Flash and Batgirl (of all the characters Batgirl, why her? I'm such a fanboy when it comes to Batgirl, she was a disappointment) and we ended up getting a bootless Flash and Batgirl. Ironically they're probably the only characters (aside from Wonder Woman) who actually needed the printing. But as I said, it's more than likely the case, we will most likely be seeing that piece. I'm just glad they didn't give her a mohawk.

I find everything about this movie so silly, just reading your comments make me crack up. But quite frankly my computer's volume isn't working (yes I checked the settings and the youtube volume) so I don't know what Unikitty sounds like, ugh I want to hear her voice already! But let's all pretend like that didn't sound like something a crazy internet stalker fanboy would say, because no.

Also, her hair comes in white, which was never used in that color, doesn't Lego also avoid using new colors in catalogues on pre-existing pieces? If that is the case, then we will definitely be seeing another Black Widow hair piece. Plot twist: This is all leading up to Lego's new DC/Marvel crossover where all the females find out their related!

I'm pretty sure that there will be an early release, but I'm more than likely wrong.

Exactly, but I guess this new hairpiece can also be useful, I was recently trying to create an army of old women to fight my Batmen...

Which would add more to (was it Oky's, Aanchir's, somebody's) point that these sets are supposed to be using characters and the like from DoFP without completely basing the designs or the figures off of the movie. I am pretty damn sure that had DoFP not be scheduled to come out this summer, we'd either see no X-Men sets, or just the Black Bird without any sign of a sentinel. But maybe kids buy comics and watch T.V shows from the 90's to stay updated on a set of that kind? If I didn't know any better, not very many kids nowadays actually buy comics, their knowledge sprouts from T.V shows and movies (though that's most, not all).
