[TC6] Arctic Equalizer
KirTech LAB replied to KirTech LAB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
First post was updated with new photos and video! Thanks for watching! -
18. Arctic Equalizer I’m glad to present my [TC6] contest model – Arctic Equalizer! It’s a mix of huge bulldozer, ice-breaker and… road-roller! Dimensions: 77cm x 38cm x 55cm Weight: 6.9kg (I’ve made special handle at the top for transportation) I’ve used two V2 receivers for RC functions and constantly running powerful compressor (eight small pumps, two 9V BB, three Air Tanks). RC functions (total six motors): - Left and right tracks, two pairs of XL-motors; - Three-channel distribution gearbox (two-speed gearbox for tracks and one more switching additional function), one M-motor; - Additional function, one M-motor. Transmission: So additional motor puts in action three valves. One valve controls front blade height and two other valves controls the height of roller. Roller valves works separately due to differential gear with one overloaded output (additional gears on axle pins with friction). Video: Discussion topic: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=105055 Hope you like it! Thanks for watching!!!

[TC6] Arctic Equalizer

Thanks! I use two XLs per track. I think the resulting model will be much slower :( -

Technic guys into trains
KirTech LAB replied to davidmull's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think trains and technic combination is really great idea! Maybe somebody remember my attempt to do this in Triple Build contest - it was very funny! Trains with technic functions are much more interesting! -
Thanks for kind words! Maybe this picture will answer your question: I've changed a hue in photoshop - white and black colors haven't hue, that's why this parts didn't changed! The model was disassembled today and i've counted parts number: tow truck - 3650 crane - 3465 rig - 475 total - 7590 parts :)

Cool contest! One question: why do you provide an advantage like a constantly running compressor for pneumatic models? In the same time constantly powered fake engines aren't allowed. If somebody need a compressor - it can be coupled with autovalve, or all constantly powered motors should be allowed... Just my opinion :)

Hello All! Today i want to show a bit strange RC model, it was created for bricker.ru technic contest. Maybe it looks crudely but at least it was very funny to play with it! The functions are really ordinary: moving (two buggy, fast output), steering (RC unit), independent suspension, sliding doors, simple cabin with seats. Thanks for watching :)

It's a crazy idea and crazy realization! What will be the next one? :)))

Agreed with the first comment - very cool model, but the motors are too visible for such great design of body! -

Thanks! Good idea of trees! But i'm not sure that with my new saw it will be possible to cut something :(( I've tested leveling system and tracks with 2kg extra load and seems all was fine! i think completely new chassis construction will discourage me from this project )))) PS: i saw a few big MOCs with old tracks and at the first sight all was ok with them -

Thanks a lot! I'm glad you are interesting in this project! So: 1. do you mean new tracks like in arctic 42038? 2. instead of first version, the turntable will be positioned not under the tower but AT THE TOP of it! All the tower will be constructed around the pivot and i hope it will tilts normally! 3. To what place? :) i really want to move receivers but now i don't see enough space... 4. it's optical illusion - the pivot is exactly at the centre! but in the real mashine it is shifted to the front! -

Thanks! Today i have this: The rear part is a bit bigger than i expected because i should place two BB and three receivers. But i've saved really good clearance - about 4.5 studs!!! -

Thanks for comments and interest! Very complex model! It is always difficult to hide all this wires and hoses... Unfortunately it is hard to control pneumatic precisely. I plan to use actuators or maybe self-made "cylinders" from gear racks. No, but felling head is the only part of my model that isn't destroyed at this time, so maybe i'll try to do it in a near future ))) You've done very compact and functional feller! I didn't seen such fellers in a real life but it is very cool! In the new version of my feller buncher i plan to use the same 9L saw blade! The bottom part of new version is almost complete, i'll take a photo in the evening!
