This is great! I still remember your Gadunka. I love how you integrate gear functions into these even though the originals didn't feature them. Are you planning on doing more G2 revamps of G1 sets (particularly 2007, one of my favourite years)?
-
Unfortunately I can't unsee the head as anything but Obi-Wan, but the build for the body is fantastic! I love what you did with the colours, given that dark blue is a fairly rare CCBS colour.

MOCs: Doctor Slizer, Cheetah Slizer and Soldier Slizer
Aethersprite replied to Logan McOwen's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I love these! The Slizers were a huge part of my childhood, moreso than Bionicle even. The Doctor Slizer is pretty standard in terms of build, but the colours and overall look are really creative. Got me smiling on that one! I'd love to see a video of the Soldier Slizer. Does the arm mechanism actually work? Makes me wonder why Lego didn't think of doing something like this for the official sets, given that disk-throwing is a huge part of the Slizers! -
MOCs: The Six Sisters - Ancient Protectors

Great work as always - those gatling boobs got me. My favourites have got to be the Ice and Stone Protectors! -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Aethersprite replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I love the new RO sets! This is definitely a better first wave than TFA's. Hopefully the black shuttle isn't too similar in build to the Tydirium; I'd get it if it's more unique. -
Wow, our first G2 Bionicle promo set that isn't a mask! I'm loving that brick-built head, hope we see more of these in the future :)

MOC: Natur, Rebooted Master of Nature

The lime gels with the dark red excellently. I wish Lego would give us more dark red CCBS pieces! -
This is what the (non-UCS) official Lego MF should have looked like! I'd buy this in an instant if it were a set. Great job. Do you have pictures of the interior, though? :)

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
Aethersprite replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
No. He would've shared it if he did. Thanks for the info J2G! Looking forward to seeing that set. Sounds like it'd make a good display piece! -
That's incredible. I love the lower jaw! When I first looked at it I assumed that you'd use the shadow trap halves for the mouth; I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that you didn't.

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors

Is the new X-Wing essentially a carbon copy of Poe's X-Wing? I'm hoping Lego did away with those ugly rubber bands at the back of the wings, but it doesn't seem likely... -
That's a nice bunch you have there! The ice one is my favourite. I'd buy a set of that.

With so much anticipation banking on it, I'm 99% sure everyone will be disappointed in it when it finally gets revealed... -

Here's hoping! The summer sets aren't due until June, anyway. -
Just saw it. What I liked: What I didn't like: Overall... I don't love it, but I'm glad we have it as it gives kids something to watch. The storyline could have been a lot better - here's hoping we see something better next year.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
Aethersprite replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
That's a rumour. No one really knows if Spidey will really be featured or not. I think it's best to just watch the trailer and get any Spidey reveal over and done with. It's better than getting his appearance accidentally spoiled for you in the coming days, when the Civil War marketing starts to ramp up. Who knows, they might not reveal Spidey fully, but give us a glimpse like they did for Vision in AoU. -
I think Umarak's mask is blended with trans-orange. The blending with the black is probably what makes it look red.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
Aethersprite replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
Agreed. I think most people's ire comes from the fact that he shares the same face as another MCU character; but I think Star-Lord's face works perfectly fine. -
Tips for using the shadow trap parts.

You could look at the NYTF videos/photos to see how Storm Beast accomplishes this with its tail. -

Brickset is a fan site, just like us. They don't know anything more about the 4th CW set than we do. And you can bet that if any info on that set leaks on their forums, it'd appear here faster than the time the Brickset mods take to publish a front page article, anyway. -
REVIEW: 76052 Batman™ Classic TV Series – Batcave
Aethersprite replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for the detailed review! I'm not a collector of Superheroes sets but the large sets like the UCS Helicarrier, Tumbler and Arkham Asylum have always impressed me. This one, however... I think the word is underwhelming. At that price, it needed to be spectacular, but it's just mediocre. -
Multiple Umaraks (with the purple ribcage arms and shadow trap hands) spring out from the ground - seems like Umarak can summon these apparitions of himself rather than transform his hands into shadow traps.

Both versions of Onua and Kopaka are my favourite Masters/Uniters. Onua > Kopaka for 2015; Kopaka > Onua for 2016. In my opinion, they're the most cohesive/interesting builds of their respective years (bar Kopaka Uniter's horrible gold thighs), and it probably has to do with the fact that Kopaka is one of my favourite G1 characters.
-
That's fast. I just saw BZP's video - Storm Beast's function looks very interesting! It'll take a proper review to convince me, but I'm more open to getting it now. EDIT: I just noticed that you can see Tahu and Kopaka in the backgrounds, without their masks. That's awesome!
