  1. Netflix series confirmed to have 4 episodes lasting 22 minutes each: http://brickfanatics...2016-lego-news/ EDIT: Whoops, thought this was the Story thread. I'll just leave this here anyway.
  2. I'm glad Rex's AT-TE is confirmed! I had my doubts when Anakin's Podracer turned out to be false. Anyway, I'm pretty sure the price on the TIE Advanced is wrong. $30 for the TIE and an A-Wing?! If something is too good to be true, it probably is.
  3. Ugh. I really can't stand these folks who withhold images just to draw attention. He clearly has the prelims; can't he simply release them? Nevertheless, we'll be seeing all the sets when the Toy Fairs hit in a couple of weeks anyway.
  4. Space is my primary concern. I bought all of last year's Toa, and between Bionicle, Star Wars, and Superheroes, I'm running out of space real quick. On another topic, quick question: Has anyone tried using Tamashii stages to display their figures in "flying" poses? I'm thinking of purchasing one, but I don't know if a Tamashii stage can support the weight of a Lego CCBS figure. After all, Tamashii stages are made primarily for Gundam model kits, which are comparatively lighter. Alternatively, are there any (transparent, preferably) stands out there that might support a Lego CCBS figure?
  5. Ever since Aanchir called Melum's function a "bear hug", I've been seeing it as a polar bear. And Terak is an ape?! It blatantly looks like a mole to me.
  6. Spectacular! The nose art is gorgeous. As a huge fan of Republic Gunships, I must say this is a brilliant MOC!
  7. I'd be really happy if this were the case. Exclusive sets tend to be priced more expensively (and harder to find) in my country.
  8. London is the Toy Fair that traditionally doesn't allow photography. Nuremberg does, but the coverage won't be as extensive as New York. IIRC Toyark typically has good coverage of Nuremberg; we can keep a lookout on them.
  9. It's rare to see a depressing MOC, and I love it! Love the design of the container. You did well in expressing the gloominess of the scene!
  10. I'd like to know this as well, if we have any info on this at all.
  11. I think a remake by Ep 8/9 is plausible. It's not so much so of our AFOL "give us a more accurate rendition" complaints, but more of "we'll remake it because it's a prominent ship in the new movie and it'll sell toys".
  12. That Mighty Micros Batman is adorable!
  13. Just built this guy today. He's pretty good! I love the new Akaku. Hands down one of my favourite G2 masks. The silver marbled blend is also gorgeous. Wow. I love how Kopaka's shoulders look. Very sleek and imposing. They limit articulation quite a bit, but they look fantastic so I don't mind. My main gripe with the set is the gold crystal pieces on his thighs. Ugh. I ripped them off almost immediately after building him. I was happy that Lego replaced gold with silver as Kopaka's main secondary colour, but they just had to include those 2 pieces on his legs. I'll definitely replace them with silver/trans-blue ones from Gali when I get to Bricklinking. Melum is okay, but I wish he had longer legs. As they are, articulation is extremely restricted.
  14. Seems like he's just kneeling down in a "knightly" pose. That's my gripe about Ekimu - he's nothing special at all! Of course, given that his Protector-sized form is one of my favourite G2 figures, it's going to be hard for his "Toa" form to impress me.
  15. So glad that Falcon's wings are solid plastic, and not that iffy plastic sheet some of the DC sets used last year.
  16. I doubt/hope that the Mask of Control doesn't turn Umarak into a "mindless beast". Rather, it could be that it's the mask itself that's in control of Umarak's body, i.e. the mask has a life of its own. Kind of like the Ignika creating its own body. Except here it's the mask controlling Umarak, because, you know, Mask of Control. While I love a good redemption arc for a villain, Umarak's an evil spirit, "borne out of darkness". I highly doubt there's going to be any redeeming going on with him.
  17. Read this theory on Reddit that the Beasts might be corrupted versions of the 3 larger Toa, hence their elemental themes and their slinging of their respective Toa masks. Hence Ekimu coming in to save the day! I hope the Beast heads are proper IFB-like heads, and not masks. I can't imagine having the upper half flop around on the face while you move their jaws...
  18. Wow, Umarak looks absolutely monstrous. I think he even has geared fingers as well. Loving the recoloured Toa masks. I'm disappointed the Beasts are all bipedal; I was hoping for greater variety like the Creatures are. Perhaps it's linked to their uniting function somewhat. Not digging Ekimu. Overall - of course, these are prelims. I think they have the potential to be great sets! More promising than the Skull sets were last year, at least. Looking forward to Toy Fair! EDIT: Metru blue 4M shells on Storm Beast!! Rejoice! I'm glad the return of the colour wasn't one-off with the Skull Spiders and then Kopaka. EDIT 2: Ekimu is stepping on an all-black Umarak mask (does this mean his mask has a power, since it's of some significance?) and the Beasts have silver/trans green recolours of Tahu, Kopaka and Onua's masks. One might infer that Umarak will probably get a recoloured mask as well (trans yellow Mask of Control maybe, to match Ekimu's trans blue Mask of Creation?), but there's no sign of any mask on his box art.
  19. Another case of don't-fix-something-that's-not-broken. The recent yellow and green Eta-2s were great, albeit being bulky for their scale. Personally I don't mind the increased use of stickers, but the shallow droid socket and the disappointing cockpit (lack of controls and lightsaber storage) is extremely disappointing. I'll definitely get this to go with my Anakin's Eta-2, but I'm disappointed that I'm going to have to mod it heavily.
  20. I was here a few years ago, and it's instantly recognizable! Great work. It also reflects the architecture of European train stations.
  21. Hmm. You might be right. But $100 is still ridiculous - I was guessing it'd be $70-80.
  22. Sold. $100 is absolutely ridiculous. Thanks for the info!
  23. I'm hoping it'd be cheaper, given that it's not riding on the TFA hype, hence Lego might not price it as ridiculously as the first wave of TFA sets. If it's cheaper and improves on the existing Poe set, I'll get it. If not, I vastly prefer the colour scheme of Poe's.
  24. Maybe I'm influenced by your post, but the three words do resemble the shape of "Grand Moff Tarkin"! It'd be great to get him. I doubt Vader would be updated for Rebels; his new mold works fine.
  25. I'm glad I skipped the TIE Advanced Prototype - Vader's TIE looks fantastic! I'm disappointed that it doesn't come with Ahsoka, though. It'd be a great chance to get her. If the new X-Wing is just a recolour of the original, I think I'd rather get Poe's instead. I like the black and orange better. I was hoping that the new one would fix the nose and the offset wings! EDIT: Seems one of the minifigs in one of the two the "new property" set has a red lightsaber. Interesting to see what it'll be!
