Another awesome add-on to your collection. Did you ever thought about making a heavy cargo trailer with steering? You could use a LiPo battery box on the hitch to control the servo in order to get electronc steering control!

Lego Technic Figures
Zerobricks replied to BasOne's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Maybe TLG could update the figures with the new ball joints used in Mixels, but technic variant? -
The old black pins were a nightmare... Anyway there may be some exceptions to this rule, you can find gray frictionless 3L pins or black friction pins with crossaxle in older models. Also the color of half pins is sometimes gray and sometimes blue but they are always frictionless. The funny thing is that this part...I never know if its frictionless or not because some have frictions, while others not: And its cousin:

Axles and torque
Zerobricks replied to aol000xw's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Its usually like this from my experinces. The longer and the less reinforced with bushes the axle the easyer it is to deform it. Also usually bewel gears (especially 12 ttoth ones) slip before axle breaks, but a normal gear may survive and the axle may wind up so many times that the gears simply slides out like a screw. To keep good high torque apps, keep the gearing as close to wheels as possible, meaning keep the high torque stuff close to high gear ratios, and keep it simple with low number of gears, especially bewels and U joints. -
What a beauty! Love the small details and even a reserve wheel!

Half-Track Drivetrain
Zerobricks replied to Tommy Styrvoky's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
If you have different wheel/track sized you can always use a central diff to compensate for the size differences... As other stated. But try to have the right as good as possible, otherwise the diff wont split the torque equally. -
Its a good set, but there are some sloppy things such as M motor being attached with only one pin, the 4L axles with stops not being fixed in the rear and such.... Still should be fun for kids to drive around and dig.

I like trains... SHWOOOOOOOOWSH *HIT BY TRAIN* *SCREEN FADES TO BLACK* -
I doubt there is any windup in such a small and light model... Windup is usually in big heavy models with long axles and low gear ratios.

Animations in LDD
Zerobricks replied to Zerobricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I'd never thought so, but it seems LDD does support inverse kinematics in its usual glitchy way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8PuC8UmNEE&feature=youtu.be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1FaBmB4UNk&feature=youtu.be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7buiMGJDCw&feature=youtu.be Still I will stick to stop motion nad proboably use these just for WTF scenes -
Thanks Lewis Glad to see someone likes it, but according to youtube likes its not my highlight... Still gonna keep trying and here's a little teaser: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uJI-omEazw
