LDD 5, what features do YOU want?
Zerobricks replied to BasOne's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I think mirror mode was already discussed and its very hard to implement for more complex stuff. Stability-wise I think multiple CPU thread support would help a lot, because ATM LDD doesnt support multiple threads. Also some GPU-relying calculations would take off burden of the CPU IMO. -

[MINI] Crane Arm Truck
Zerobricks replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Here are some more pictures of the model: As you can see the reach of the arm is quite high compared to the size of the model Tiltable cab exposes the steering mechanism And a clean digital picture: -

Skeletal animations?

You mean like bending body and parts like TLG does? -
For the [MINI] contest I built (and animated) a 200 part models of a truck with a crane arm. The crane arm uses 2 MLA'S to move and there are alsoa dditional functions like crane arm rotation, steering and more... Here's a small gif: LXF file: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/zblj/Minicompetition/200minichallenge.lxf Real video with commentary: LDD animation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrNi43Gn3_Q Personally I think this is one of the most functional models you can build with only 200 parts.
