  1. They still had this in a bricks and mortar Lego store in Milton Keynes about a week ago, there is still likely to be a few around for list price if you go hunting.
  2. For those of us that are not yet winners, it's getting a bit nail bitting, day 18 come and gone, only 36 winners left to be drawn, and 82 players in the game……..the odds are getting narrower by the day. Fingers crossed for the next week
  3. And the odds on those jewels being stuck inside some small rocks……..
  4. Surely this means a Jungle Helicopter, we've not had one of those before
  5. Hi BrickWild, I see a small issue with the trailer, the PTO on the Claas tractor is constant rotating, and in a single direction. You will need a small two way gearbox in the trailer to be able to handle this otherwise your LA will only go in one direction.
  6. I'm fairly sure up at the Brick show this year, there was a lady whose display of unique minifigures was something like 5000 unique figures? but I could be making this up. I just found it odd the jumbled up way they were displayed, I would have thought she would have displayed them by period/theme, but they were all over the place. I guess everyone has their own logic. I've reviewed my photo's from the show, but I did not take one of the figure display, Paul
  7. It totally makes sense for a box of 60 to contain equal numbers of each character, so I can see the logic of making it a set of 20 figures. However, this just adds another headache to any collection who has one of the many minifigure display cases which are usually designed to hold 15 / 16 or 18 figures, squeezing 20 in will be almost impossible. I personally use the Ikea small frames and I don't think 20 will fit? Even Lego's own recently redesigned storage case went from 15 to 16 figures. https://shop.lego.com/en-GB/Minifigure-Carry-Case-851399
  8. I like this set, functionally it looks good, image wise, I think I prefer the previous version, but for the right price point, maybe a 3rd off on amazon next May/June this is an ok parts pack as well. I'll definately pick up a few for the wheels, and the telescopic boom part. It is about time we saw this part in another couple of colours other than red.
  9. I searched and could not find another topic discussing this (or suggesting we cannot discuss this). Obviously this week it's been anounced that Lego has issued a limited edition set to all it's employee's, and it's very based around 50 years of Lego Trains, with reconsturctions of some of the most classic sets of the decades including mini models of metroliner, emerald night, monorail, christmas train, blue train and western train. A large number of these have appeared this week on ebay (99% surfacing from Hungary) and all priced around the £250 mark, and it's no co-incidence that there is a factory in hungary so many employee's will have sets which they may have chosen to sell. I suspect this has annoyed Lego that so many of their employees are profiteering from what was a Christmas gift. For fans, this does provide a route to market for those willing to part with serious money for a 1000 piece set, but the discussion point is it morally right to sell these sets? One ebay seller appears to have a box containing 3 of these sets. Again, you start wondering, even if Lego did give 1 set to each employee, how would the person on ebay, have 3 sets, neatly packed in an outer Lego shipping carton? It makes you wonder if they are aquiring these in other ways? How many have opted to try any purchase one of these limited sets? They certainly seem to be selling on ebay at this price point. Paul
  10. Yes, that stunt bike ramp is a bit lame, it bends under the weight of the bike. That definately looks like a last minute afterthought.
  11. This was a cool truck, many would not have owned, whilst you've added some nice features like the hose racks, I don't think the flared wheel arches on the back axle of the tractor look right?
  12. Looks like another attempt from Lego to redesign the worm gear after the failure the other year. Can be seen at the front of the Boom on the telehandler
  13. Thanks for organising this again this year Roll on 1st December!
  14. Thinking about it, when they ended the board game division, I guess they had lots of games left over in the warehouse, maybe they splitt these up and sold of the contents? I wonder if the first bag could have been related to a board game that was in development, but got cancelled when the theme was stopped? hence we don't have a bricklink inventory? I seem to recall a topic years ago showing some of the last board games that never made it to production.
  15. Not only are these quite expensive, they were also quite unreliable from memory, certainly the one on the red technic car, I seem to recall it even came with a spare, and both have developed faults over time.
  16. How funny, everyone is looking at the new bricks, and the cool design, and my first thought is why is it called Assembly Square when it's on a rectangle base plate…….. I thought they had learnt the lesson about small spaces and big AFOL hands with the barbers the other year, but overall I like the design, looks like it will be another year or two until I get the post office I keep hoping for.
  17. 3139 apparently? ahhh they are taking over the world!
  18. The real shame is there is no longer a Lego store in the Bullring in Birmingham any longer, but if you find a Lego store within commuting distance, it's either £10.99 or £11.99 i think for a large pick a brick cup, and around £6.50 for a small one. There used to be a website, which showed what parts were on the PAB walls. however it relies on AFOL to update it. See below, but it is only really up to date for one or two walls now. Also I note, years ago, each store appeared to have a different selection of bricks, however in more recent years, since they have offered monthly models which can be built using the PAB wall bricks, the selection of bricks has become more standard accross the stores. http://www.wallofbricks.com/pab-display.php?country=UK&pab_store_id=8
  19. The little submarine looks to be from set 6599 http://brickset.com/sets/6599-1/Shark-Attack from the Divers sets of 1997
  20. Love the build, looks great. The drive train does appear a little jerky in the video though?
  21. This is almost criminal, but there is also something there as I had to watch it until the end!
  22. I hope Lego win this case, but there was a similar one years ago with BMW and an X5, the Chinese had make an exact (looking) copy of an X5 with a different badge on the front, and when BMW took them to court, the government threw the case out saying it looked nothing like an X5. Protection of their own economy. I'm actually wondering, many companies move production to China for cheap production, and as soon as the Chinese see the volumes and potential opportunity involved, the product is copied within 3 - 6 months. So it makes you wonder if the speed of copying by companies like Lepin, would not be so agressive, had Lego not moved some of their own production to China, with things like the blind packet minifigs?
  23. yes, totally agree. I line up the Lego logo's in 2 axis, and the technic pins are always horizontal, or along the front to back plane when they are installed vertically,
  24. I don't just want to critisise a show, so I wanted to share some pictures from the event with you all A real Caterham along with the new Lego Ideas set This is what can be done with an unlimited supply of bricks, AKA Bright Bricks Nice to see this model signed by the players I'd not realised Lego had made so many Dinosaur molds over the years, very cool Jurassic display These planes were very cool, almost studless and seemless, I almost cannot believe there are bricks in these shapes required to make these planes. Oversized Classic space, great to see oversized remake of some classic 80's sets. I've seen this display quite a few times over the last couple of years, Actually a nice idea, formula racing cars running around train track Probably the best display at the show, Vikings. Table was a guess, 3 meters wide by 8 meters long, and the level of detail was amazing, I guess this was a group build? Love the ripple of the waves. Classic Donkey Kong 8 Colours of Lego Bicycle Spookey Theme Park/Circus
