I've been trying to build a descent windmill for quite a while and it has always failed so far! So I really appreciate this moc and it's beauty. Maybe you could structure the brown a little more so it resemples single boards a little better! -

Much better now! I don't know which Microsoft version you have on your comp., but on my new computer a have a nice tool that allows me to crank up the light artificially. It turns out that that works really well too! Anyway, the King approves!

Thanks guys! I'm really glad BoBs is up and I'm mocing again. I had a little mini dark few months, but now I'm enjoying to be building smaller mocs again .. That seagull is one of my favourite Lego animals and I'm glad I actually have a few. They're getting really expensive these days! I wonder what you got hanging in your study though? ... your absolutely correct! Two shields given to the King by Oleon and Corrington diplomats. Where else to hang them but the study?

When Renato Filamento was informed by Ivo Fortesque about the new island he had discoverd not far from Nelissa, he imediatly had to go and see for himself. And after a voyage that was much faster than Fortesque's 15 days he landed with a crew of hearty explores on the beaches of Berelli himself. However, when he landed there was no trace of the natives Fortesque had told him about. Instead, he was faced with a seemingly inpenetrable rain forest that rose just a few meters behind the beach. What Renato Filamento did not know at this point yet was that rowdy explorers from Oleon had forced their way onto the new island forcefully and thus scared away all the natives that, until recently, had been living close to the sea. On the contrary, as the true humanist that he was, Renato Filamento instructed his men to be careful with their weapons and not shoot or stab anyone until they had his permission to do so. This of course was not met with much enthusiasm by his men, but the Eslandolan viceroy was convinced that if they ever wanted to trade with the people living on this island they would have to treat them with utter friendliness. "No unessecary violence in the name of our good king Fernando Augusto!" he told his men. The Eslandolans' landing on the beach had not gone unnoticed though. Chabuyab, a young worrier of the Xibenyah tribe, and deadly master at the bow, was observing the crew from a save distance. These strangely clad men did not seem as unfriendly as those others that had been able to control the thunder and had forced their way into their village. Before they could know he would be able to shoot at least all four of them and leave unnoticed before others, still out at the swimming house, would be able to help their comrades. However, Chabuyab thought it wise and not shoot as long as these foreigners remainded peaceful themselves ...

Well thanks guys, glad you like it! @CD: had I had more gothis arches I surely would have made this larger. But, it's the King's study, a room high in the white Palace, not the throne room which is much larger of course ...

I like the idea very much and also the way you put so much onto such a small scale. Also, the light looks really good this time!

a Bermuda sloop (something I'm building right now) might be the way to go though:

Great canoe, convincing minifig posing - I like it!

For a long time King Fernando had been weighing his options. Should he really grant a charter to yet another trade company? Wheren't the ones existing not out of control already, constantly eager to undermine his power? Wouldn't another trade company counter the plans he had with his Viceroy Renato Filamento? But then again, by allowing Maximus of Stedor marry his daughter he would have a trade company that could operate in his own interest and counter the efforts of those other two. And as far as he was concerned, regaining momenton through several ways wouldn't be too bad a move after all. So Fernando came to a conclusion. He would grant a charter to MAESTRO, but all it's members would have to swear their alligience to the throne and any measures undertaken to diminish his control over the new colonies would be met with fierce resistance by Renato Filamento who the king new had a broad support of the colonists on Nelissa! "Enter Elysabeth of Dondril" shouted the king. A humble countess entered the King's Study, a room where he would only welcome his closest friends. "Do rise young Countess of Dondril" "Yes my King" the young lady answered. "Countess of Dondril, if she still prefers to be called that, we have thouroughly considered her application and have come to the conclusion that we will grant a trading charter to MAESTRO." The king paused. "Thank you very much my King" replied a happy Lady of Dondril, but the king wasn't done. "Will you swear alligience to our throne and grant that MAESTRO will act in behalf of it? And will you also tell your friend Lord Maximus of Stedor that we will grant him his wish?" King Fernando waited for an answer ...

[ESL-FB] Cotton Plantation in Nova Terreli
kabel replied to Elostirion's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I would have never thought of using the white flowers as cotton plants but in contrast to the dark tan ground it makes perfect sense. Well done plantation scene and welcome to Nova Terreli! -
Bienvenidos a Eslandola Ulrich von Köhler! Certainly a nice moc to introduce yourself!

As much as I like the build (I really do, I think it's great and you're improving really fast) I think your pics are a disaster. Why don't you take your time and take some more decent pics outside during the day tomorrow? No need to rush things!

Great wall technique and it's good to see you here too! Hope we get to see more from you here except for the one or two proposed mocs. I always like your darker take on these building games!
-
Unlike AG ( ) but very much like GoH this game is as much about fun as it is about us improving as builders. So if you want your builds to earn a charter you should do the best you can actually do and accept that members will give you advise on how to improve! The King asks for another moc in order to hand out a charter to Elysabeth of House Dondril!
