  1. Very cool work, I like the hidden pirate ship. From the herky jerky motion I assume there are magnets below thew train pulling it along??? Regardless, but one word sums this up: Impressive
  2. I think the implication is that you could have the shed open or closed when you put it in the layout (being careful to put the track in accordingly) but that when it is in the layout it is static and the track will not change. Oh, and to link to your picture in the thread, literally just paste the url of the jpg in your message...
  3. For small gaps like that, as long you are not rigidly holding the track in place with baseplates, often the track has enough flex that you can close those small gaps without any problems. Only way to know for sure is to test it though.
  4. Most excellent @JHS_NL welcome aboard and looking forward to seeing you in the conversations
  5. Very nice to see a long string of Santa Fe. Just one suggestion- swap the car numbers around, there really was a Santa Fe dome with the number 503 that is found on the sticker set
  6. That's some crazy assembly you've got there, really nails the look of the prototype
  7. Indeed, that is tiny impressive. As Toastie already said, "the smaller the MOCs the harder it gets." And I had the same thought as Murdoch17, two trailers on one handcar... oooof! Great work getting so much detail in such a small MOC.
  8. Nice take on Thomas and his coaches
  9. Oh wow, that's an impressive build. Great job capturing all of the details of the prototype and an interesting history of this workhorse.
  10. You have to save it as a text file then change the extension to .mpd and then the LDraw software SHOULD recognize it as being readable. If not, right click on the icon and choose "open with". I suspect the content is just the source of the .png files in the brickshelf gallery
  11. It seems like three ideas collided in the Santa Fe dome car. In 2004 James and another builder came up with their own versions of a dome and had a friendly meet at BrickFest PDX Jame's page and teunisdavey's page of the same event Then in 2005 I wandered on the scene with my own dome car design that then inspired James to build another dome, this one had two versions and the instructions for v2 is still on line. Only problem is that it uses VERY rare windscreens for the dome.
  12. That's some great work with difficult curves
  13. This sounds like a question first to be directed to FxBricks customer support. I do not have any of their switches yet, but I had expressed concern over the fact that the original prototype powered both tracks all the time. Shortly before release of these switches, I believe Michael Gail had said that no, in the production switches there is a jumper on the underside. If you remove the jumper it will function like a normal lego 9v switch (but with better curvature). Now like the Lego 9v switches, the outside rail is always powered since it is a continuous strip of metal, it is only the inside rail that will lose continuity without the jumper.
  14. Really great work squeezing so much locomotive in such a small space.
  15. The ultimate Emerald Night, very nice work!
  16. They're so cute!
  17. Warning! It looks like your intercity train is trying to make a break for it by taking control of the switches
  18. Great little shunter and your integration of trains and friends is inspirational
  19. The 2018 set 60198 cargo train is retired and should be listed as such in the first post of this thread (it currently is not crossed off). The current freight train 60336 is not retired and is correctly listed as active since 2022
  20. That looks like the UP streamlined steamer rather than Milwaukee, but whichever line it is impressive
  21. That is some crazy engineering you've done there. Very impressive
  22. This work is all very fascinating, you are making PU look more and more attractive. But in my limited experience with PU (with the lego firmware) it will drop connections when at a show and there is a lot of bluetooth activity in the area. Is Pybricks more robust to bluetooth noise? Will the hub-to-hub connections potentially drop when running at a show if there is a lot of interference?
  23. You could use the fiber optic cables to get the light where you need it. They do make bi-color LED's that change color when the polarity is reversed (actually two LED's in one case, with opposite polarity), that would eliminate the need for the bridge and give you a color changing LED to boot.
