  1. There is also mention of 60506 Classic Beach Tram, which might be a train or it might be a bus.
  2. Those are some really great looking freight cars. Very clean build with lots of fine detailing. You make it look easy
  3. Excellent build, I too look forward to seeing it in action.
  4. It's been in and out, its up at the moment http://www.bigbenbricks.com The announcements sounded like there were several interested parties, so hopefully we are in a transition period rather than an after period.
  5. Oh, VERY nice!
  6. In a post dated 8 Sept, BBB's front page mentions, "The store as it is, the injection molding tools, the brand, a small lathe used for making wheels with o-rings and existing inventory are for sale. I'd be particularly pleased if the store could find a new home with someone that wishes to continue the business. If you are interested, please email me...." Followed on 30 Sept, "Many people have reached out to me with interest in Big Ben Bricks. In the coming weeks I hope to have more information on what that transition may look like." And nothing since. Has anybody heard and word if BBB was sold?
  7. That's a really nice build with some clever trickery going on in the nose (and many other locations throughout). Excellent job! Hilarious, I gave a Ferrari for the train, it was worth every penny...
  8. And if it is bluetooth, it will also get interference at shows from all the phones/watches/etc in the hall. Ugh!
  9. @ODST-Kelly separately, you will be able to order a similar looking build from Bricklink Designer Program in about 7 months https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-8/2739/Brick-Railroad-Locomotive
  10. Great build, with lots of clever detailing, e.g., I like the tilted grills on the roof. The porthole windows look great too.
  11. As point of reference, 40370 (GWP reissue of 7810) has 184 parts. It was mostly an old style design so that is at least 1/2 the parts that a modern design would have, but it also has a base that was maybe 10-20 parts. Of course any train set needs some platform to consume the part count, so maybe that's a wash. Anyway, there's hope that this has enough parts to be interesting. Even better if this represents Lego releasing individual rolling stock sets again. My first thought, City looks like it is moving away from "train only" theme trains and the replacements are already here in the form of the arctic and police trains (I do NOT have any inside info, just hypothesizing here). But thinking about it, I also have a long shot guess: I recall about a year ago someone had posted a thread about the next power system that will replace PuP. There was an official Lego webpage that had a WeDo type classroom setting and kids playing with what looked to be self-contained motor+battery+communications. I haven't seen anything further about that power system (but I'm also kind of in the dark) beyond the fact that the clone makers are now offering such motors along side their PF clones. So maybe the arctic and police are a short term bridge (one year or even one city cycle?) before the next power system comes out. I would even hazard a guess that they are using these as a test to see if aligning trains with other city sub-themes sells more, which I would think has some truth (train people will by trains no matter what, arctic people will only buy trains if it is in theme). Only problem with that idea is that Lego has such long lead times between design and release that if arctic and police are to test the market it would be a few years before any response hits the shelves.
  12. That little shunter looks great. Or more precisely, both the prototype and your interpretation of it are top notch. And you even have the controller in the cab where it belongs (grin)
  13. Oh wow! An amazing build, only one problem though, it makes my head hurt looking at all the detail you compressed into such a tiny package. The cab and ladders are brilliant, I like how you made the tank work, and how you made everything else so detailed in such a small size. Great job!
  14. Another amazing build, there are so many great details in that MOC.
  15. That is a great MOC with lots of clever techniques
  16. Looks great... only thing I can think of is that you could use some wider radius curves for this train
  17. Nice! And when I saw the still for the second video I was thinking to myself that it would be great if the train hit Santa... and then it did (naughty?)
  18. Oh yeah, that Dutch guy is one of our regulars...
  19. That's very well done, I like the angles and curves on the build. You make it look easy
  20. Yep, 7777 was amazing. There were a few good threads in 2017 and 2022 where someone posted their building of 7777 in real bricks, but all of the photo links are dead.
  21. Great build and the color scheme suits it nicely. It kind of looks like a smug F-unit, sticking its nose up in the air . I can see a lot of EMD in the build with a bit of Alco (especially on the roof).
  22. Ah, okay, the light wound up at the one angle to highlight the corner of the second row of cheese bricks and made it look like it wasn't.
