Contest! The Frozen Beyond, Results are in!
MiloNelsiano replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Quick question, are we allowed to combine entries into one build? A massive battle at a castle showing mythical beasts and weather changing and how to defeat them? Or are separate builds preferred? -
Ill be in Munich Saturday as well and hope to meet you guys too. I'll probably be one of the tallest guys there (2 meters) with a very loud 2 year old, so I should be easy to spot!

Those are some great ideas Kai, I think the brochure would be the most effective, but on the other hand there might be less people willing to print enough to hand out to everyone that wants one at a show. If a poster was made, it would reach more people for less money and therefore more members might post them at different places. A poster is a little tricky though because there's less room for everything. What might work for that is to have simpler builds showing off each guilds aesthetic. Similar to how Slegengr designed his banner (which I'm excited to hear is finally up but can't see it yet because I'm on mobile). Based on his performance for the banner I'd certainly like to see him take a shot at a poster and/or brochure. However, it doesn't seem like too many people are interested in this. Maybe it's not the best idea.

It was way too hard to pick my favorite three for each category, so I just voted for my number one favorites (that was hard enough). Large- E - 3 Small- I - 3 Digital- E - 3

Nice to see Skavenport expanding (fairly quickly at the moment). The tools and furs looks great (though the one hair piece looks maybe a little too human). Keep these coming!

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
MiloNelsiano replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Hey all, it's been pretty quiet lately. Final wrap-up chapter for Osrics tale is coming soon. Whenever my last bricklink order finally shows up I'll hopefully be able to finish it (I sure hope I ordered enough of certain pieces). -
Freebuild: Avalonian Task 4 - Blacksmith
MiloNelsiano replied to dzidek1983's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very interesting building design. Good work on your blacksmith! All the vegetation does make it a little difficult to see there's a road there, and it does look pretty isolated, but that's not necessarily so bad! I would reccomended writing even a very short story for all builds however, at the very least what settlement or what characters might be involved. -
The troubles continue...looking forward to how all of this unravels. Very nice little build!

I know it's from the ship sinking, that's why I liked it. I suppose I worded that awkwardly though!

Very nice and vibrant underwater scene! I really like the water as well, the whole build looks very nice together. I'd like to see a little better overview shot however.

So I had an idea recently of creating some kind of a handout/brochure or poster to have at Lego events to advertise GoH, showcasing some of the best MOCs posted here, and explain the concept briefly to attract more interest and possibly new members. If someone were to make a nice one and post the file anyone could print them out for local shows or even at toy/hobby shops where other AFOLs could potentially see them. Any thoughts?

Beautiful build all around, and the story that goes with us great as well. Interesting bellows, it seems to work well. However, as dzidek stated smithies (as I understand it) almost always had a roof above, not only to protect the tools from the elements, but also because workig with molten metal required it to be an exact temperature as indicated by the color, which could be better seen in the shade.

Great build as always, but that ground really catches my eye. I might have to find some pieces in those colors, I think they would look good in a Wild West setting. Anyway, it's nice to see you building for GoH again!

The Wall: Rome's Northern Frontier
MiloNelsiano replied to Macsen Wledig's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Everything about this is amazing, particularly the scale. 105 48x48 baseplates?! That's difficult for me to fathom. What's even better, is it's 105 baseplates FULL of detail. I often wish I had more roman themed Lego, enough to do some small-to-medium sized MOCs, but this makes me think about making some BL orders. Truly great stuff!- 54 replies

Truly amazing builds. This really reminds me of the Dante's Inferno video game, which makes me think you should continue this to depict the 9 rings of hell.

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
MiloNelsiano replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by invade. Can you bring an army and claim a territory within Avalonia as your own? Sounds fine to me. Are you looking to start a war with the Guild? That might not fly. Usually the rule is as long as you don't effect anyone else's story or lore, you can do what you want. However, starting a war would effect everyone, so I'm not sure invading in that sense would be good. Regardless, you're certainly welcome to peacefully join Avalonia! -
Welcome to eurobricks! Your idea to combine RPGs with Lego sounds very interesting. I have been quietly working to try to make a board game with Lego, but haven't done much with it lately. It sounds like you should check out the Guilds of Historica. It's within the history section here at Eurobricks, and is a somewhat of a worldwide castle-era RPG based on creating Lego builds and story writing. Come check it out!

Very nice looking street layout. Looking forward to seeing more of Skavenport!

While the other builds are nice, that skeleton build is fantastic! Nice little story as well.

LOVE that chariot. When I get the rest of my Romans back I'm definitely making one.

Thanks all for the kind comments. I was really pleased with how this build turned out. You're witnessing the corruption of an innocent soul! A child of 5! Not to mention the corruption of his Teddy! There's no telling how many other wicked and evil deeds followed his corruption!

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
MiloNelsiano replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Rogue updates the front page when he gets enough time. Sometimes he gets pretty busy but updates everything together when he gets a chance. think I was here for close to a year before he had a chance to add me. Not that it will necessarily take that long, but it does take some time.
