  1. No idea, you'd have to ask whomever posted that information, and I can't remember who it was.
  2. Someone (can't remember who) recently said that reversing the direction of the pump on 42043 made a noise like beams being batted together, which doesn't sound healthy. I think that's why TLG restricted it from then on.
  3. It can be used with a rotating axle, which means the possibility for motorized switching - something we've not seen since 8043.
  4. There is a whole ton of new parts in this set, and I'm thinking they were fairly expensive to produce. Isn't this what got TLG into trouble in the first place? At least the Porsche used existing elements, or elements that were subsequently included in a few other sets. Unless these gears and driving ring extensions appear elsewhere, this looks like a dodgy move. On the bright side, the Chiron looks better than the Porsche in my opinion.
  5. Looks like a driving ring extension.
  6. Especially given that TLG managed some printed parts in the Mack.
  7. Well, all the TRUs in the UK closed some time ago, so no.
  8. Great build! It's a shame TLG doesn't do those hubs in yellow more often.
  9. The pneumatics do look shoehorned in. I like the fact that we're getting new pneumatic parts, but this really doesn't feel like the model to showcase them.
  10. Yep, you're right. I can see the struts on the bed that would contain the logs. The cab is also a different shape.
  11. Nice find! Woah, that's some unconvincing motion blur on the saw! Maybe it turns as the log pushes against it when the claw closes, making it 'slice' the log.
  12. The 42080 B is apparently a forwarder. I know what the B's are with the exception of 42079; we just haven't seen them. And if 42080 A is that ugly, I'm dreading the B.
  13. I'm fine with the chromatic splat in the Chiron. When assembled, the car looks neat and tidy on the outside. The multicolour is used for ease of construction, like in the Star Wars UCS sets. Great! The 42080 is another matter entirely. It's a total mess all over and looks wrong. It doesn't even look appealing.
  14. Don't look at me, I'm waiting for some B-models.
  15. Got a remaindered 8069 in early 2013 for £37.99 at my local (now-shut ) TRU. Best price I ever paid for just over 600 parts (until, y'know, 42028 )!
  16. Love the blue gears and new changeover catch!
  17. Definitely a brilliant 1H flagship! The minor inaccuracies are totally forgivable and I love all of the details. If I was slightly more into trucks, this would be a must-have. No question.
  18. I'm a staunch member of Team Legal. I don't like the idea of using third-party materials.
  19. TLG seem to be going down the futuristic route again lately, probably to curtail this sentiment. Look at 42038, the 42063 B-model, the 42070 B-model and now 42081. All of which I think is for the best.
  20. Woah! That hasn't been used since the mighty 8265 loader back in '09. Talk about a long absence. Good to see it again though.
